Stayed at the George for a couple of nights with friends. I had spoken with Jane when booking and she was as friendly and easy to get on with then as when we checked in. The rooms are really well appointed and comfortable, mixing antique furniture with modern luxuries. The bar and restaurant completed the package, food and drink being... More

This was a great find on our way to Camber. We arrived here for lunch, i had read reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and attentive, i had read about the tempura cod so had high expectations it was amazing in fact i couldn't eat it all. When we left the land lady... More

Stayed for one night with my boyfriend. The staff were lovely and helpful. The room was very good size, super cosy, very comfy bed and spotless. We had dinner that evening too which was lovely and great value for money - 3 course dinner and 4 drinks each for £100! Breakfast in the morning was tasty but the time 9-9:30... More

Went here for a joint birthday meal with father in law and his partner. I ordered the 'Fish of the day' which was Plaice. Hard to describe the dish that turned up. What little flesh there was had been virtually destroyed by some water attack. When I suggested to the waitress that it was inedible, she offered me a sandwich... More

Service was bit slow to start ,we had to request a menu , but the food was good -particularly the cod tempura and the lemon cheesecake and the wait wasnt particuraly long. Good place for a mid week lunch.

My husband and I spent a night at The George Inn and it was almost perfect. Our room was absolutely beautiful and the bed was big and extremely comfortable. However, due to a misunderstanding among the staff, someone suddenly barged into our room because they thought we hadn't checked in, which was a bit alarming at the time. During our... More

We both had the place special and were a little disappointed as it seemed over-cooked. The wine list was good as was the ice cream pudding. Then we were treated to live music from Joanna Majesty - a local girl with a great voice. All in all a pretty good night out.

I like a lot of things about The George. It's a classy pub, good service and food. I spent £130 with tip for a group of 5 without wine. That's £25 apiece without alcohol. This limits my visit frequency because I don't feel that as a gastro-pub these prices allow me to visit as often as i would like. Although... More

My wife and I have just spent a night at The George Inn. I cannot praise this place enough. From the warm welcome we received on our arrival to the superb English breakfast we had just before leaving, everything was spot on. The young lady that checked us in, Mike, the guy that ran the superb restaurant and the chef... More

We had an evening meal here which could not be faulted fish and meat from local suppliers very tasty. When asked about the ingredients were informed what was in them and offered an alternative if wanted to that on menu. The surrounding is very good even to your name on a slate on the table when you arrive. Service good... More
