Truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The hosts were wonderful and warm, the guide very knowledgeable. I didn't stay the night but certainly would next time! Highly recommend! I also had some car troubles and our host picked us up from Paquera, drove us in time for the tour and made some calls on my behalf-... More

My family had the amazing opportunity to night kayak with Vigdis and experience the bioluminescence. What a fantastic experience! I had never been in a kayak and was a little scared of being on the ocean at night. Vigdis was so calm and walked me through the whole process. This is a great way to spend an evening!

Our family traveled to Bahia Rica looking for a place and experience different from the mainstay tourist spots. This choice proved to be right on. The owners, Vigdis and Thomas, were wonderful hosts. We went on several tours with Bahia Rica - fishing, snorkeling, Tortuga Island, whale/dolphin/turtle watching, and the night bioluminescence kayaking (this is a MUST see - don't... More

As other reviews state, Bahia Rica is unique and amazing. Thomas and Vigdis were wonderful hosts, and they did everything they could to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. We ate all of our meals with them (arranged in advance), and I would highly recommend you do the same. They are both talented cooks, and I was particularly pleased they... More

Visited Bahia Rica on our honey moon and stayed 2 nights in the lodge. This ended up being the most memorable and fun part of our entire honey moon. Thomas and Vigdis were incredible hosts and the activities were second to none. How often can you roll out of bed and wander down a jungle stair case to a private... More

We did the Isla Tortuga snorkeling trip, bioluminescent kayaking and stayed overnight at Bahia Rica. The snorkeling trip was really fun, including a delicious lunch and plenty of time on the island for swimming and sunning. The guide, Steven, was terrific. He also took us on the kayaking trip which was truly amazing. Millions of bioluminescent organisms in the water... More

Thomas and his crew took us out on the water two days in a row and helped 'make' our CR experience. We spent first day on a trip to see spider monkeys and spend an afternoon on the beach at Tortuga. Our guide, Jeff, was very knowledgable, personable and a natural entertainer. Bahia's owner, Tom, led our fishing expedition the... More
