Mapi's is a family style hotel with local Costa Ricans working there. The owners, Frank and Nilda are wonderful people who can show you the highlights of Paquera. This is a poor country from our (US) standards, but their food, their country and their sights are spectacular. Las Vegas restaurant is around the corner and their food is excellent. Hummingbirds... Kathy, it was our pleasure to have you! Though we're not there all year round, we truly value our guests in striving to meet their expectations with or without our presence... Definitely, your stay was too short but at least, you got a "sample taste", leaving you wanting to come back for more, which you'll find, Costa Rica has a... More

Hotel Mapi's is a small little unpretentious hotel sitting about 3 kilometers from the ferry landing that goes between Paquera on the Nicoya Peninsula and Puntarenas town on the main coast. We stayed there because Jake, a transplanted Canadian with gives advice for tips at the Puntarenas ferry recommended it. Great little hotel for the money. One night was $28... More

Thanks for taking the time to recognizing us, as "Best Value of Trip"! It's an important part of our goal, that our guests feel comfortable enough to afford staying a little longer. To then enjoy not just the diversity of beaches in the area but exploring nature, at it's best, tucked away in this little relaxed suburban city of Paquera.... More

My stay at Mapi's was for a short week, at a rate of $28 a night for a single person, I thought this was very affordable offering hot water, AC, TV and small fridge. The town is within 10 min walking distance, with a super market, bank, pharmacy with a variety of restaurants serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, though the... More

We had an awesome experience at Mapi's, my girls (10, 9yrs old), loved waking up to eating fresh mangoes from the trees, seeing the iguanas, the humming birds all on the property. I also took my elderly in laws who stayed on first floor cabins and were also very comfortable and entertained with all the fruits and wildlife on site...... More

Glad to hear you and your family had a great time, we appreciate that you chose us for your accommodations... We did follow up with the WiFi not working at the back cabins and we're in the process of trying to find out of what can be done, to not continue having this issue, being we continue to fix it... For the price, this place is great to have a home base to sleep and shower which is all we did here. We did not come to Paquera to lounge in our hotel, so this is exactly what we needed. We stayed a few nights here and were able to catch the local bus to the Curu Reserve and Motezuma... More

Thank you for your observations and choosing our place to stay. We feel "basic, clean and safe" should be priority, bringing more savings, to our guests to spend on exploring and experiencing the Costa Rica culture! The taxi driver, who picked us up at the ferry port late at night, recommended and took us to this hotel. Despite a power cut, due to the bad storm that night, we found the hotel clean, comfortable and friendly. The noise of the discoteca 3km away kept me awake but apart from that, it was a good budget choice.

Thanks for taking the time to post your kind comments... we strive to keep our guests within their budgets, without sacrificing most conveniences other cabins, don't offer, so you can feel comfortable. We understand sometimes the noise of the discotheque can be heard from our place but the discotheque is now closed but we still took measures sealing all our... More

I was lucky enough to stumble onto this hotel after getting in late on the last ferry. My first thought was, wow, this place is well-kept and compared to other places of similar cost, it seemed much better. The landscaping will continue to make it look nicer and nicer as the plants mature. They have all sorts of fruit trees that are available to the guests to pick from when it is in season.
