Away from it all in the forest setting it is easy to see why some of the other guests there had made return trips. A good testiment in itself. Food plentiful and tasty. staff friendly and helpful. Sit quietly and experience the sights and sounds in the look out on the Machan. watch animals come to the watering holes, or...

3 night stay in tree house. Guest safety paramount. Jeeps to and from rooms after dusk. Wild elephants boars etc roam freely near water hole here.so a great viewpoint. Rooms clean. Food like traditional Indian home style cooking, eaten around campfire. Delicious and plentiful. Camp staff guided us uphill to a Temple. Spectacular views. Trips arranged on campus for nearby...

We stayed here for three nights, two in the main building and one in the watch tower. The view from the watchtower across the trees is breathtaking and also the view at the mountains is great. With some luck you can see elephants and other wild animals close to the tower. The manager is very kind and he asked us...

Forest hills guest house in Masinagudi is a rare example of a guest house accommodation which is nestled in the midst of the Jungle. It has a very good share of wild life around it. We took a jeep ride on the main roads around this place in the evening and had good sightings of wildlife of this region, especially...

I have visited their property for over 3 times. I am basically from Coonoor and working in Bangalore. I find Forest Hills the best amongst all the other resorts around Masinagudi. Excellent hospitality, food, service and activities. I normally prefer either the Tree house or the Machaan. I would highly recommend Forest Hills to anyone planning for a stay in...

This place is totally worth the price. We booked a twin tree house. We went there mid october and it was still raining. Deers were right below our room. At night we even heard the distant roaring of a tiger or a leopard. The buffet has a good spread and the food was yummy. Lush green surroundings. The room, bed...

rest hills is a perfect place for a quiet weekend getaway from the hustle of Bangalore city. Masinagudi is just outside the Karnataka border in Tamil Nadu. It took us about 4.5 hours to drive there with a stop for breakfast. Best to get there early and enjoy the drive through the forest. We got a neat little cabin, tucked...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Forest Hills Farm & Guesthouse is a family run rustic theme resort tucked in a secluded part of the Nilgiris in south India. With Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and Bandipur Tiger Reserve a hop away, this region offers opportunities to explore the un-spoilt forests and visit the resident wildlife. Time takes a break here in the deep reaches of nature. Accommodation includes double-occupancy rooms, a family cottage, deluxe rooms, bamboo huts, two tree houses and a Machaan, all non-a/c. The rooms are cozily furnished with modern conveniences. The cuisine is delightfully tasty homemade food. It is a charming mix of old-fashioned hospitality and contemporary amenities typical of colonial bungalows. The 'Machaan' or Watchtower, built on stilts at the edge of the property, has Wild Dogs, Asiatic Elephants, Leopards, Gaur, Sloth Bear as visitors. Set in a breathtakingly beautiful valley with the wooded mountains forming a majestic backdrop, the dawn and dusk here is adorned with over a hundred species of birds. Herds of spotted deer are commonly seen grazing in and around the place. True to its name, Forest Hills gives you a combined experience of both the forest and the Nilgiris (blue mountains). Step out of the city and immerse in the sounds and visuals offered by nature. ... more   less
