An enjoyable stay at the Sunprime Kamala Beach was made even better by the JBC Trio. Jonathan,Bob and Carla from the Philippines make up this acoustic threesome. Jonathan and Bob play guitar and sing and Carla adds her considerable vocal talents on many of the songs. They have a large repertoire of songs and will gladly play any requests that they know. They play for 4 hrs with a 15 minute break every 45 minutes between 6pm and 10 pm during dinner. They alternate through the week between the 2 restaurants at the hotel. They are three talented musicians and also very nice people ! As for the hotel - I can only repeat what many others have already said. The location is great , the staff are well trained and friendly and the hotel facilities first class. As for the accommodation I can only comment on my room which was a junior suite - it was spacious and comfortable with a bath , 2 showers and 2 toilets. If you like an adults only quality hotel with friendly staff located right on the beach this is the place for you. The icing on the cake was the JBC Trio !…
Just back home from having spent 30 days in Sunprime Kamala Resort Hotel. Throughout our stay the staff were extremely helpful. Always with a smile too Olof the customer relations persons was on hand if there was an issue. But there was not. Food was good throughout including the Barbecue pizza that gets a social mention. The restaurant staff were great, special thanks to Taiwan and Kar. Rooms were spacious, 4 pools clean, Location next to the beach excellent. We will be back next year.
We arrived on an early flight from Chiang Mai, the hotel picked us up as requested. First impressions, this is a big hotel. We were quickly checked in and invited to leave our luggage, get changed, enjoy some breakfast and relax. Room was soon available and everything good. Remainder of day getting to know the area. Any early worries we’re dispelled by day two. The hotel is big but the layout makes it feel much smaller. We had key must haves on our list and we have not been disappointed, the room is spacious and was serviced perfectly. The breakfast was varied and always well presented. The pool which we ‘adopted ‘ was close to our room and the beach so we could alter our choices . The beach is on the whole clean and well maintained with plenty of opportunity to walk, swim, sunbathe, eat, drink, shop and make use of the activities. The town is compact with plenty of options for eating, shopping, massage, bike hire etc. Kamala Bay delivered what we were looking for. Kamala Sunprime you made our holiday, as others have said the number one stand out is the staff. Everyone is so friendly , always smiling faces and nothing is ever too much trouble. A special thank you to Lee the pool barman, and Oiy, always looking out for us and taking care of us.…
Kamala was amazing, from the hotel itself, to its gorgeous beachfront location. Rooms were spacious, ac worked, beds were large and comfortable and plenty of facilities. Food served was diverse and delicious! Everything you need is there, on top of several relaxing pools and plenty of sun beds (I highly recommend the in-hotel massage therapists, cheap and wonderful experience). However, the BEST thing about the resort, is the staff. ALL members of staff were kind, welcoming and extremely attentive, without being overbearing. I was always greeted with a warm and genuine smile, in addition to many of the waiters and pool staff that always made me laugh. Kamala workers genuinely care about the well-being of their guests and it makes for a flawless stay. Special shout out to the girls at the lobby desk!…
It’s been a long hiatus from travelling. Stayed at Kamala Beach Resort (Sunprime) during Nov - Dec 2022 with my wife and one other couple. We had our own private transfers through My Phuket Holiday to the hotel which was ordinary to say the least. Made us use two transfer vans rather than having us all together in one van which would have worked as the vans could accommodate 4 people with luggage easily. And then they missed our return transfer even I had confirmed with them 4days and 2 days out. The check-in at the hotel was efficient except they tried to change the rooms we booked to a different room style. We had booked partial Ocean view rooms and they told us that they were “upgrading” us to pool view rooms. I had booked the partial sea view rooms as they were closer to the beach, the pool view rooms were much further from the beach. This is a very large resort, so if you are in a room that is near reception, you have a long walk to the beach side of the property. After some twoing and froing we were given the rooms we had booked. In my opinion, if you like the beach then book partial sea view rooms. There are also two pools on the beach side of the resort, giving you the best of both worlds. After checking in we were taken to our rooms which were a reasonable size and fully functional. quite large and well designed. The resort is very large and has an adult’s section and family section which are well separated. Over the whole resort there are 7 pools to choose from or the beach which is right on the resort’s door step. The partial ocean view rooms had smallish type bathrooms with a single sink, large shower, no bath and toilet in them. There were quite a few toiletries but only some were replenished on a daily basis. Each day you are given 2 bottles of water, but if wanted more it was like pulling teeth. It’s the first resort in Thailand where they have been stingy about the bottled water. The bedroom area was large and had a king size bed which was very comfortable. There was a large TV in the room along with a large fridge, which is a pleasant surprise as most places only have a mini bar fridge. There was also a comfy couch in the room and a good-sized outside balcony which had kinda of a day bed. There was also a drying rack. There are robes and slippers and the free Wi-Fi worked well during the day but not so well first thing in the morning or early evening. The location of the hotel was excellent as it was right on the beach, so you could choose between beach or pool. The hotel lunch menu was limited and not great however I have to say though for a resort their prices for food and drink were very reasonable. ‘cause we were lazy we mostly chose to eat lunch by the resort pool. However, from the beach side if you turned right when exiting the hotel, within 100 meters there were multiple restaurants serving all types of foods and all were of great quality and price. We mostly ate at Deng’s or Lillo Island Restaurants for dinner if we stayed at Kamala and didn’t make the effort to go into Patong. If you turned left when exiting the resort on the beach side this would lead you to the Kamala town, about a 5 min walk, where there are more restaurants and other facilities like pharmacies and clothing stores. There is also a night market just outside the front of the hotel every Monday and Friday. The buffet breakfast at the hotel has a reasonable variety and will cater for everyone’s tastes including vegans. There are 2 breakfast venues one in the middle of the resort and one on the beach side of the resort. The beach side is always busy but the other one is quieter and more chilled. They both have egg station which are relatively efficient and you can have your eggs in a variety of ways. The breakfast staff were very friendly and made sure that any empty plates were removed from your table quickly. The resort also has 2 large in house massage huts, where you can have full body massages, head massages, foot massages etc. We utilised these on a daily basis. All in all we had a very nice stay at Kamala Beach Resort (Sunprime) and would recommend it to family and friends and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.…
Stayed for 4 nights at this amazing resort and had a wonderful time. The staff absolutely make the resort what it is. They are all so friendly and welcoming and keep the resort clean. The pools are great and the location right on Kamala beach is great for swimming and wandering along the beach front to access all the restaurants. My only one negative was that my room smelt a bit mouldy but my daughters room next to us did not.
Stayed here for a week and WoW loved everything about this hotel Staff were super smiley and so helpful Room was excellent and extremely clean Drinks from pool bar were perfect Breakfast was great Location excellent We are already booking to return next year and we never return to same place but this was a little bit of Thailand paradise Thank you for such a positive first visit
I picked this hotel based on the reviews, and also on the reviews of Kamala beach. I must say we made an excellent choice. I was a little nervous, as This was our first stop on a three week trip and I wanted my wife to have a good initial impression. Initial impression was very good, and our room (7204) was large and comfortable. Straight down to the beach for a swim past two lovely pools. Beach is beautiful and uncrowded. I think I made a good choice. If you are looking for a luxury break, without costing the earth I can sincerely recommend this hotel. It is very quiet, elegant and extremely well maintained and managed. We are a couple in out sixties and we absolutely loved it. We particularly enjoyed - surprisingly- the morning aqua aerobics in the pool and the swim up bar. Two little niggles - the coffee is not very good and the orange juice is dreadful - we named it agent orange. One sip on the first morning was more than enough. …
We spent just about a month in this property . First impressions on the approach are not so great but improve once in the foyer , the whole property is quite dated and could do with a face lift . That said check in and out as well as baggage services were very efficient and friendly . Our room (6317)was spacious and quiet but again was very dated particularly the bathroom which had my pet hate a yellowing shower curtain instead of a screen . Facilities in the room were adequate and the bed was comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job maintaining hygiene in the room . Externally there are several pools and excellent access to the beach , the hotel does not provide loungers on the beach , none of the hotels do due to a local prohibition, they are via a private operators who charge a 100 baht a day for a very comfortable lounger , shade and superb service . The hotel has a complimentary breakfast which is reasonably comprehensive for a property at this price point . The staff are extremely pleasant and are one of the reasons we would return even though we normally stay at a 5star hotel along the beach . In short a good value option within the 4 star category.…
The hotel, the staff, the beach, the massage, the activities, especially the beautiful music nights by Bob-Carla-Jonathan, made our year-end trip wonderful and perfect! The policy of the hotel is to offer a quiet and adult relaxing atmosphere by not allowing guests under 16 years old. We will surely come back!
