We - a family of four - have stayed two weeks at the hotel and really enjoyed our stay. This very much thanks to the efforts of the crew, not least the amazing group working with kids entertainment (the Lolo and Bernie theme). They seem to enjoy what they’re doing and the young kids love it.
Travelling with kids the Lolo and Bernie suites are optimal for your needs. The rooms are located close the pool, have a little ’garden’ where you can dry wet bath suits etc. The only negative thing with these rooms is the bed for the kids. It is so hard you have to ask the reception for extra matresses. Apart from that the rooms are very nice.
The main restaurant serve a buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner. The variation is big but the quality average and sometimes below that. You can order a la carte from the same restaurant and then the food is actually very good so I’m not sure why the buffet lacks quality.
Down the beach you have a second restaurant called Fino. The thai food here is super good and highly recommended.
The hotel offers lots of fitness classes. These are good but the gym is in very bad condition. It needs a complete make over (except from the treadmills). If you’d like to perform a serious work out you should sign up for the crossfit gym Kamala Beach Gym located 10-15 mins walk away. It is 450 bath per week and got the equipment you need.
There is a Mini Market at the hotel. It is handy to have so close by but very expensive. For bottled water and such things look to 7 Eleven (plenty of them in Kamala). Prices at the hotel are OK except this. Best value for money is the massage at 300 bath for an hour (located both by the pool and the beach). You won’t get the massage at a lower price anywhere else in Kamala.

LOVED IT AGAIN! 2 years ago we travelled as a family of 4, this year, we travelled as a family of 12 with our extended family. We just returned and honestly had a wonderful trip. The highlight is always the resort, multiple pools, the location, the kids club and teen friendly events (we love Matias!!!! - great to see him back. He also rocked the water aerobics last week!). The location is fab, so close to restaurants, beach on the doorstep of the resort. Food at the resort always great. Outside restaurants slightly cheaper but sometimes you just want to eat in or get room service. The pools close at 8 which we felt was too early but I appreciate the noise wouldn't be appreciated. The onsite shop is handy. The markets a few minutes walk is great (twice a week). Can't fault our stay. Thanks again to the great team at Sunwing!

Great family resort Our family of 6 stayed for 9 nights in a 2 bedroom family suite. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Although, like most Asian countries, the beds are a bit hard. Housekeeping did forget to put the right amount of towels in our room a few times, but that was quickly solved with a call to the front desk. Would have loved if the room had a full-size broom as sweeping the floor once a day with 3 kids and a baby isn't enough. Pool towels are provided down at the pool desk, which you can return once a day for fresh ones. There is a laundry on site, which you can wash and dry your clothes for 80thb, and washing powder can be purchased at the onsite mini mart. The restaurants at the resort are excellent, we received fantastic service especially from 'Von' every day.. It's a shame the pool bar isn't open until the pools close at 8pm, it closes at 6pm wich is a shame. They have kids' activities at the resort but no supervised kids club. Baby sitters are available at an additional price. Kamala market is directly out the concrete driveway wich has some great food and shopping options. Out along the beach there are plenty of dining options aswell, to the left and over the bridge there are some shops set up that do excellent food for very reasonable prices. Massages out the back of the resort near the beach are great and start at 300thb. Short walk to the Big C wich is a large supermarket or catch a taxi from the front of the resorts taxi rank.

We enjoyed are stay at the resort very much and were sad to leave. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful.
We checked in the evening and had a nice dinner at the restaurant. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. My dad is a vegan, and he requested a change to one of the menu items. The chef was able to accommodate his request. This very much appreciated the flexibility and willingness to accommodate special dietary needs. The breakfast buffet had a variety of food to satisfy most people including fruits, yogurt, and different Thai desserts which was a nice touch. During breakfast, the wait staff were friendly and very attentive. We smiled during the morning greeting of Lollo (giraffe) and Bernie (bear) which was a big hit with little kids.
We stayed in the pool access rooms. It was big enough for 3 adults to stay with 2 bench seating areas. The outside had an enclosed patio and a gate to another deck where the sun chairs were and the edge of the pool. This setup allowed for some privacy. The complimentary basket of bananas and snacks including a 1 time stocked of the bar fridge was a very nice touch. It was nice to be able to access the pool directly from our room. We enjoyed going down the slides on the other pools. Even though, we didn't
The room cleaners were good and paid attention to details. My daughter had her beauty and toiletries scattered on the counter on the bathroom sink for a couple of days. When we returned to the room after room service, we saw the room attendant had provided a box organizer for her; so nice.
We used the gym which had air conditioning and enough equipment for a good workout. It was nice to have a washing machine and dryer on premise. We were able to get coins at the front desk. If you forgot pool toys, goggles, or laundry detergent, you could pick it up at the on-premise convenient store. The location of the resort is on the beach as advertised. It was nice to be able to walk/jog up and down the beach path to other restaurants, stores, and resort.
Overall, our stay was top notch. Here is a tip. For room prices, try calling the hotel reservation directly to see if they beat the online room price. Also, ask if they can throw in the ice cream card for free.

Lovely and nature ambience property.This beach resort is really good for family get away.Staff(s) are very friendly and accommodating. Room we have are spacious and foods are great though.

We undertook a group trip (3 families, 7 kids in total) in low season and our stay here exceeded our expectations. The hotel was quiet but staff remained attentive, excellent food/buffet breakfast and so many options for fun or to relax in peace. We stayed in a beachfront room and enjoyed the ocean sounds from bed. So many pools/slides, beach access and the kids loved the complimentary ice-creams after a swim as well as dedicated kids play room- adults still supervise but having staff there to help was fantastic on a rainy day. Outdoor dining, masks and covid safe practices continue. Could enjoy dinners with kids being entertained with nearby tv/play area. Kamala is a much quieter spot and locals are so friendly. Clean rooms/bathrooms, only improvement could be complimentary floaties/pool toys to hire and beachfront rooms are quite far from dining/kids room but worth the walk! Will def come again

I keep coming back to this wonderful place and couldn't have wished for a better stay. The resort is my second home. From the very first time in Phuket, I have always been choosing to stay at Sunwing Kamala Beach. It is located right on the white sandy beach and provides wide choices of swimming pools and relaxation areas. The beach is super private. Our Two-Bedroom Royal Suite is very specious, beautiful, spotlessly clean, with everything catered for. What I like most is that this child friendly hotel has a launderette available, with coin-operated washing machines and laundry drying tumblers that you can use on demand. Even a baby cot can be requested. The staff are super friendly and will assist you with anything you need. Excellent service from all staff. My biggest thanks go to Mrs. Renelyn Ramos, the Asst. Guest Service Lead, who personally welcomed us upon our arrival in hotel. She showed us along the way to our room, so that we would re-acquaint ourselves with the place again and it really feels like home again. Since we have known each other for the whole 8 years, it was just like meeting old friends. Thank you for your kind assistance and for making our stay more pleasant!!! We love every moment staying here. That’s why we are returning guests to Sunwing Kamala Beach with the passage of time.

The lady who greeted us at the reception was quick with the check in process- if we asked her to repeat any information even once, an expression of impatience crept up on her face, so we checked in quickly.. ha ha Welcome fruits were kept in the room when we entered. The rooms are a bit dated as other reviewers have mentioned but quite spacious, with comfortable beds. We had some issues with the door lock getting stuck and the ac dripping water in the main room but, the housekeeping staff helped to fix these immediately. We also had internet connectivity issues on our personal laptop and the IT staff too helped us out instantly. The kitchenette was stocked well with microwave oven, a minifridge, cutlery, bowls and plates. Breakfast was at Som's kitchen. It was not lavish but decent variety to choose from although, not many options for vegetarians. Fino's and Som's have the same menu but we found the service and ambience better at Fino's. Also, Fino's is located near the beach so it gets quite pleasant in the evenings. It's a good idea to carry mosquito repellent as evenings are abuzz with the tiny creatures ready to bite you. Som's had some live shows for both adult and kids in the evening which you could watch while eating at your table. My 8 and 11 year old kids spent an entire day going up and down the water slides, loved the teen lounge and enjoyed their massage session beside the pool. the massages are offered at the same price as the outside market which was a fairly good deal. The laundromat is near the reception with several washing machines and dryers kept in a spacious room. An ironing board and iron were provided as well for self service. The resort is located right at kamala beach and was a short walk to the market street. good for food, shopping, massages and booking travel tours. This market was quieter than the one near patong beach as the traffic is much less here. It is also quite close to a night market and the Carnival Magic Phuket which are quite walkable to with older kids.

A wonderful hotel for its 4 stars. Breakfast: fruit, yoghurt, pastries, omelettes, 2 types of scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausages, side dishes, including a different Thai dish every day. Order their Chicken pineapple with any meat or seafood. The hotel staff was friendly, they changed our room within 24 hours, ours overlooked the river and there was a smell, we were moved to a room overlooking the pools. Cleaning upon request, hang a sign for cleaning, a free 0.5 bottle of water per person is placed in the refrigerator every day. The sea is wonderful, the water is clean, sometimes it brings algae, sometimes jellyfish, not without that, but overall a wonderful swim. In the evening there is a low tide, sometimes strong, and we swam right behind the buoys. We are happy with our holiday, I recommend Sunwing Kamala Beach.

Decent family resort with many pools to choose, different depths and size of slides, playground, etc. Also managed to arrange proper Family Studio with 2 bathrooms upon our check in when we previously highlighted we have 3 adults and 1 young child the very next day. BUT a few things they could do better: 1) Clean sheets (slept in sand) and when housekeeper came still did not change after request 2) Not charge room service when asking for food/drinks be delivered or is this the norm now in Thailand?

Our family suite comes with either one or two bathrooms, depending on our availability during your preferred period of stay. Please be advised that there is usually an additional charge for the third child. The minimum occupancy for our Studio room is 2 adults and 2 children (aged 12 and below). For our Family Suite, the recommended occupancy is 2 adults and 2 teenagers (aged 17 and below), still with additional charges applicable for a third child. From our visit, there is no real 'adults only' pool. However there are 8 pools! The main pools near in front of the breakfast restarant and by the pool bar, all cater for children, with their slides and waterslides. The pools on the side of the resort neighbouring the Sunprime sister resort next door is where there were generally very few, if any kids as there were no slides.
The pool adjacent to the beach had a mix of kids and adults due to its location.
If you want guaranteed adult only pools, book at the adults only Sunprime resort next doot.
There are more places to choose from in the Kamala area.
