We stayed in the studio apartment and first impressions were good. Lovely bedroom and a balcony overlooking the beach. Lovely helpful lady on reception, friendly and printed tickets for us. Bathroom and kitchen dropped a star for this otherwise perfect apartment. Seems they weren't upgraded at the same time the bedroom was. Be aware there is an awkward staircase to get to the room so care needed if you aren't particularly mobile.
We had the seaview room above the coffee shop, the bed was comfortable and we slept well. However, the kitchen seemed a little tired and dated. The shower was ok but at times it wasn't hot enough. It was good enough for the 4 nights we stayed though. The balcony seating gave us a lovely sun set view , so worth booking just for this. Shops and restaurants are within easy reach and pool is big enough to cool off and lounge around.
Stayed there a couple of nights in low season. Reception was good and a quick check in accompanied by the beautiful resident cat. Rooms are large with king bed, sofa, wardrobe, safe, hairdryer, decent size bathroom, kitchen facilities in the room included microwave, large fridge, wash basin, tea towels, kettle, plates/bowls/mugs and cutlery. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels daily. Pool towels are left in your room. Small balcony with a table and a couple of chairs. Pool is small/medium with sun loungers and umbrellas. Lovely to look out over the beach or the pool from the sun loungers. Plenty of eateries/bars either side of the apartments.
I stayed off season at Kamala beach front apartments, arriving at 9am after 17 hours of flying and lay overs. The wonderful woman on the desk said I was welcome to check in and go up to our room early- not something you get for free everywhere! The apartments are clean albeit a tad worn in some places, if you want cheerful and right on the beach this is the place for you! The pool area is perfect, there are some more “formal hotels” nearby but when we strolled past they seemed super boring in comparison. Cannot speak highly enough about the staff!! Be aware that in low season the bar by the pool isn’t always guaranteed to be open (when it’s raining it’s hardly surprising!).
I stayed here 23/11- 6/12 the hotel is probably the best price hotel on kamala beach, the check in was really fast we arrived at 8am and was provided a room with in 10 minutes which was great after a long flight, the room which was a studio room and a good size with a massive double bed, (which was very comfortable), a sofa and a wardrobe with a free safe, there is a large fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishes cups and glasses and cutlery, bottle water provided daily, the bathroom was a fair size, with a hand basin mirror toilet and shower with free toiletries, the beds were changed daily and the towels were changed daily and rooms cleaned daily, the cleaners were very trustworthy and the rooms were cleaned as soon as you left them (thank you cleaners) there was also a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. now the pool area, the pool was great 1.2 - 1.5meters the loungers were not kept as clean as they should be, and the pool area could do with a weekly jet wash due to dirty people coming from the beach covered in sand and not showering with a provided shower, (you also get pool towels) the pool bar is great for food and drink, the lady who runs it cooks very good food I never had a bad meal there and you should try, drinks were the normal price and brought to your lounger table the beach is nice and sea was great and very close, there are restaurants to the left and right the best was ( ponds restaurant the second to the left) I would highly recommend. all in all this hotel was great for the price and location and I would come back again,( the poolside rooms are huge)huge). local prices, a small beer 320ml from 49 bahts £1.20 large beer 620ml from 99 bahts £2.50 -120 bahts £3 food is very cheap and good from 80bahts for a nice thai dish, steaks start about 450 bahts £10. hope this helps and i get an helpful vote from you, have a nice holiday, andy…
