Sleep, eat, indulge, explore and rejuvenate at our homely resort in our naturally private setting, along millionaire’s mile located south west of the treasured island of Phuket. Through using the traditional and authentic craftsmanship of Khun Veerasak, this wonderful promontory paradise has been converted into a magnificent hotel consisting of 42 rooms and villas sprawling the hillside down to the private rustic beach. All the rooms and villas are designed with the concept of ‘Ayara’, corresponding with the nature of ‘elephants’ that are gentle and kind and of course, need their space to rest. They are decorated contemporarily and traditionally, from stylish black tiles to luxuriously marbled bathroom floors, to wooden and earthly tones. Our restaurant maintains quality local ingredients with delightful homemade recipes as well as including a few of the normal favorites from around Thailand and the rest of the world. Relax at our spa, or enjoy a game of pickleball with your family and friends, surrounded by lush and greenery. Whether young and fresh or mature and experienced, Ayara Kamala provides you with our local founded atmosphere whilst our international touches amaze and surprise combining on a personal level a unique harmony, nowhere else found. Our team strives to make sure you obtain that unique warmth in this west coast paradise.

The location is near Kamala beach. It's outside of city center, very peachful. The hotel is attached the sea on cliff area, no white sand beach but the scenic view of hotel is absolutely great especially for sunset.

The grand pool room is very large, clean and comfortable. The room area is separated into 3 parts including Living room with kitchen building, bedroom building and 10m private pool. All room faced to the sea.

There are fitness room, main pool, tennis court, and spa, kids room, restaurant as common facilities.
Due to COVID, we don't use them. We use in-room dining service only.

Breakfast is served as a set menu. Floating breakfast is also available on request with free of charge.
All food either Western and Thai and are delicious. There are not variety chioce of food. It might be effect from COVID's situation, which is reasonable and accept it.

Staffs are very good, kind and helpful. Reservation team (Khun Gai) is helpful and select the good view room for us. The decoration for our wedding anniversary is very nice. We are appreciated.

This hotel is very good for family or honeymoon couple.

I'm a long-term expert having lived in Kamala for the last 10 years. Upon my recent return from the United States I needed a place to spend my quarantine time - according to the sandbox rules. I chose the Ayara for my Sandbox stay as I was somewhat familiar with it and knew it had spectacular views and very nice pools (I'm a swimmer).

Ayara is located on the rocky cliffs about 2 km down the strip of winding road (known locally as "Millionaire's Mile") that runs above the coast south of Kamala town. The facilities are well maintained, the food is very good and the service is exceptional. I know they have a very nice sauna but it was closed due to the pandemic.

Because of it's unique location there are some nice walks/hikes of varying difficulty on the nearby mountain and adjoining cliffs. One can walk (carefully) down to the ocean to the very scenic and rocky private beach and take in the wonderful sunset.

This resort is a great value for the money. Highly recommended.

We were there for the Phuket sandbox and had a wonderful time. The staff are all very attentive, accommodating and friendly. The room we stayed in (Grand Thai Natural Ocean View and Spa Bath room) was very spacious and we really enjoyed our time there.

It is a short 5-10 min car ride down to Kamala beach, or a 20-30 min car ride over to Cheng Talay or Phuket Town so it isn't too hard to get around. There is also a regular shuttle service out to Kamala beach.

Generally we had a nice time at Ayara and would have been happy to stay a day or two longer than the five days we spent without feeling bored, depite only going down to Kamala beach once. The resort is a bit isolated, and there's not really any beach, but the rooms are large and airy, the pool is usable, and the restaurant is pretty good and fairly reasonable. The included breakfast had a nice variety.

The one issue we had was after we checked out, we noticed that we were missing a pair of Apple airpod earphones. I assumed I had left them somewhere, in the room perhaps, or by the pool, and called to see if they had been found. No, we were told, they hadn't, but they would call us if they were. I called every day for three days, but they were sorry, nothing had been found. However, I could see that they were at Ayara thanks to the "find my" app. After five days we went back to the hotel and used that to locate the earphones. They were in one of the housekeeping storage rooms, in a small drawer. No explanation or apology was offered, but the manager Beau was helpful in letting me search. I hope the staff will look into what happened so that this sort of situation can be handled more responsibly in the future.

Dear Khun TrippyEdo, Warmest greetings from Ayara Kamala Resort & Spa! Thank you very much for taking the time to write us a review, and most importantly, for choosing to stay with us. It is a great delight to read that you enjoyed your time at our resort. Regarding your earphones, we are truly sorry about what happened. It was unacceptable on our part and should have been reported to you sooner. We have given the team a warning and will ensure it does not happen again. Upon investigating the case with our front desk and housekeeping team, we reached out to you by email on March 11 to explain what happened. As mentioned in our email, after receiving your call, our housekeeping team checked your previous room but did not find anything. According to our staff, the earphones were found on the 10th of March in the evening under the table in our linens room by our night shift staff, and they had moved them into the drawer for safekeeping in case someone will come back for them. However, due to our current high occupancy, they rushed to clean the next rooms and did not inform our front desk of the lost property, which is against our protocol. We believe the earphones were accidentally wrapped up in the linens after cleaning the room and fell under the table in the linens room, which is where we separate all the linens and towels before moving them to the laundry service company. We understand there is no excuse for what happened, and we deeply apologize for this. Should you give us a second chance, we will do our best to ensure you have a much more positive experience. Should you require further information or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Really enjoyed our stay in Ayara! The villa is beautiful and quiet. It is authentic, pretty well maintain and the facilities and service are great.

Its located slightly up on the hill, so you would need to take a cab down. But its all worth it, and you could still walk to Kamala Beach if you arent in a rush(ard 30mins walk).

We stayed at the ocean view pool access room, its very private and you got an awesome ocean view! You can sunbathe as much as u want! Highly recommend you to book this room if you are looking for a quiet getaway with your partner or friends.

The only thing i hope that is the lighting from the shower and toilet of our room can be brighter. The combination of current tile colours and head light made it too dark. Lucky there’s a great bathtub at room that compensate it!

Overall, love this villa, i would recommend this for those who are looking for a trip to relax and unwind! Will come back again!!

We had a last minute flight cancellation and had to find a hotel for the night. Fortunately this property had one of their rooms with swim up pool available and it was absolutely amazing.

The setting is serene and breathtaking. It’s quiet and undisturbed with amazing views.

The rooms are a bit dated and worn but are good value compared to some partnering properties.

The wifi is excellent and we had free mini bar during our stay which we appreciated.

the villas looked quite beautiful as well but we didn’t see inside any.

The only downside of the stay was that room service was very slow. We ordered dinner one night and waited multiple hours for it as it was a busy night.

The upstairs pool is nice however there are no indoor showers to use and sometimes towels hard to find. It can also get quite hot with little shade.

The upstairs restaurant had delicious Thai food and the staff were great to deal with.

It’s my second time visiting Phuket, but my first with a child .

I choose Ayara Resort and spa because I wanted to stay at Kamala . I made the reservation directly through the hotel website , paid via pay pal . I hope in the future the payment will be with credit cards .
I’ve been contacting the hotel by email , and they were really helpful answering all my inquiries, specially with the new covid regulations.
We booked the Grand Pool Villa & it was the perfect choice for us .
The Villa was outstanding, clean and the pool was beyond amazing.

Talking about the staff , I would like to thank each one of them for their wonderful hospitality.

They were really friendly with my child .

I tried the spa and it was perfect too .

The only thing that i hope that they will improve, is the Resturant area , it’s a little bit outdated & the buffet needs to get better.

Otherwise, we had the perfect stay and amazing Vacation

Phuket never disappointed me .

We stayed at Ayara Kamala for 5 days in April and oh boy did we enjoy our stay. Our room was the Grand Thai with Natural Ocean View and Spa Bath, which was super spacious and had an incredible view. As the hotel is undergoing some renovations (including the main pool), we had a chance to enjoy during daytime one of the villas (absolutely lovely) and the pool front rooms (super nice). The food at the Cradle is delicious. We also had some massages at the SPA and it were some of the best we ever had, amazing. There is a shuttle to Kamala beach a few times a day, which is a nice add. Overall, this is a great hotel with an unbelievably nice service, super sweet staff. A must return when in Phuket.

What we loved.. The views bump the score up for Ayara. Stunning views from our pool villa overlooking the Andaman Sea (what an incredible sunset). The location is great (far away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket - albeit it would be a challenge to get around without your own transport). The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Fantastic spa. The breakfast was very good (the pancakes are some of the best we've had).

But..
The hotel is dated / in need of TLC. The main pool area needs work and all over the hotel you start to notice cosmetic issues. The villa was fine, but not what we would call premium. We weren't impressed with the food (excluding the breakfasts). Strange how a place can deliver exceptional breakfasts but be below par for lunch and dinner.

Overall a nice stay, but room for improvement we think

Dear Olympia K, Warmest greetings from Ayara Kamala Resort & Spa! Thank you for your question. The Kamala beach is a 5 minute drive from the hotel, we have shuttle buses from 8am to 8pm every 2 hours (7 times per day), pick up also. We also have a seasonal rustic beach that can be accessed within the hotel via stairs and elevator part of the way. Warm regards, Ayara Kamala Resort & Spa Team

Hi Jacky L, Depending on which one you choose I think. The actual villas with private pool will all have ocean view because they are placed high. There is a "private" pool too though shared with other visitors who bought the same package underneath the restaurant. These are not ocean view I think. At least not as much. Hope this helps!
