Absolutely loved this place. A lot of us all booked separately as we were attending a wedding in Marthon. Florence couldn't of been more helpful during our stay. Arranging taxis for us etc. The place itself it simply stunning. The pool, rooms, breakfast. Everything is exactly what you would want!! Thank you so much Florence for our lovely stay, we... More

We stayed for our third time and it was as lovely as ever. Florence and Robert deliver a very enjoyable experience and their property is a delight to stay in, as the rooms are beautifully furnished. It's a very relaxing place. We had dinner in the chateau one night and Florence's cooking remains delicious. Thanks again!

Beautiful spacious rooms in a great location overlooking the river and a fabulous four-course evening meal; breakfast was also excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and we could not have felt more welcome. Very quiet and very comfortable.

Glorious chateau, decorated most beautifully and to an incredibly high standard. The rooms are all lovely and the grounds just lovely. We stayed with our children for just 4 nights and it was pure luxury. The food that was prepared was just incredible (I am running out of adjectives) but dinner and breakfast were delicious and freshly made. I wish... More

Charming hosts , lovely evening meal , not the best of weather but well worth a visit . Montbron is a small sleepy little town with a small river running through its lower boundary . Beautiful countryside

Our group of ten stayed for two nights at Chateau de Lavaud. We stayed at the back in a charmingly renovated stable/garage that had four bedrooms with the fifth bedroom being in the chateau. All the rooms were beautifully decorated bringing a rustic yet modern touch. Breakfasts were delicious with the home made yoghurt a highlight. We ate dinner one... More

We only stayed one night in June and because of delayed flights and traffic we arrived very late to find the host - Robert Manderscheid waiting up for us. Quickly got the room and went down to the common area and found a very nice bottle of wine in the honor bar and sat outside enjoying the end of a... More

Robert and Florence care about what they do and how they do it. As a result you will enjoy any visit you are lucky enough to make. We have been visiting France every year for the last 13 years and we would not hesitate to recommend Chateaux De Lavaud to anyone.

My wife and I stayed for five nights in June 2015 and I can only reiterate what others have already said - it's a wonderful place to stay. The location, about a mile outside of Montbron, is great. Our room was beautifully presented and comfortable. The swimming pool was literally a lifesaver while we were there (it was almost 40C... More

“The most exceptional room directly overlooks the lawns sweeping down to the Tardoire, with a stunning view including Montbron & its romanesque cathedral spire. But all five rooms are stunning, each with its own regional theme.”

“I have only seen the three upstairs rooms - the north room at the end furthest from the house is the one we have always stayed in as it is the largest and has plenty of room for the two kids' beds. Great architectural antique table adds character and sky lights are fun. The fabulous sink is like a huge long farm sink and so lovely, and the shower great. If you prefer a bath and patio, the south room closest to the house (adjoining actually) is gorgeous as well with a funky rustic log bed and soothing palette of neutrals. Plus, the bath is MASSIVE in that room which I adore so think we might request that room next year. The middle room is more old worldy with a sort of princess bed in oatmeals and green - very quaint and once again, a divine bathroom with a shower. All three rooms over look the pool.”
