Just spent a wonderful night and morning at The Cobblers. I was working at a nearby festival and wanted an overnight stay so I wouldn't have to drive 2 hours home. I didn't expect much as I only wanted a bed for the night and this was £35 including breakfast. First impressions are wonderful, it's a charming building in a... More

Very disappointing old and dated accommodation. Clearly no decoration had been done for many years. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the bathrooms were scruffy notably around the baths and showers in both our rooms.. Furniture in both rooms old cheap chipboard, broken and very dated. Unfortunately the whole place was rather like going back in time to... More

visited for a night, the room was adequate but a little small, especially the bathroom. breakfast in the morning was good especially the butter. good pub located next door for a late night drink. the hotel doesnt have car parking, but guests can park in the public car park located 50 metres away.

My husband and I were staying in Colyton for a few days and decided to try the Cobblers for dinner on our last evening. We were very impressed by the welcome and service that we received, friendly and efficient without being intrusive. The food was excellent (I had fish and my husband the lamb). It was very well cooked and... More

What a shock we got when we arrived! It looked tatty from the outside and even worst from the inside. We felt as though we'd been transported back to the 70's and not in a good way!! I don't think the room had been decorated for decades. Yellow wood chip on the walls and dirty old tiles on the ceiling.... More

Just returned from staying at the Cobblers for two nights. Lovely welcoming owners, extremely comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfast and very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!! Drawback is the limited parking outside but there is a public carpark a few yds up the road. Which is free between 6pm and 8am

Our stay at the Cobblers was a wonderful experience. The food is out of this world. Whilst Caroline and Russel cater for all tastes including vegetarian, their speciality fish dishes served in their restaurant are exquisite. On one occasion two dishes looked particularly nice and the choice was hard to make, one dish was offered as a starter and the... More

The Cobblers appears to be more of a restaurant than a B&B and we had tried to find accommodation at several B&Bs in Colyton before finally booking. We had the two rooms overlooking the street. They were very pleasant - clean and comfortable and apart from some early morning noise from rubbish trucks we slept well! We booked in for... More

A group of us had the most delicious home cooked lunch at Cobblers. The food was excellent and home made puddings a rare treat. The service was prompt but not intrusive. If you need to know anything about the area then the proprietors are very helpful indeed. This was our second outing to Cobblers and no doubt we will be... More

We visited The Cobblers for dinner on September 3rd 2011. We didn't stay for the night, so I can't comment on the rooms. Caroline is responsible for the running of the restaurant and her partner Russell runs the kitchen. They both have extensive experience of the hotel and catering business, and it shows in the professionalism of the service and... More
