My wife an I stayed overnight on our way from Spain to Bordeaux. As it was off season it was very quiet and we were upgraded to the Sir Galahad room with the best view in the house (see pictures). It's a steep drive up to Cette Eygun but the views down the valley are worth it. The place itself...

My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights at the Toison d'or and had a lovely time. The view from the bedroom was amazing and the decor was certainly unique - clearly a lot has been spent on making this place look the way it does! Julie and javier we're welcoming and friendly hosts and we really enjoyed Julie's evening meals...

We stayed in another auberge, which did not serve evening meals and this Restaurant came recommended. The was a set menus for the evening - with vegetarian options available, so no choice. Food was superb. Wine was very good quality and very reasonable. The atmosphere was really lovely as we shared a huge table and benches in an old Monks...

The hospitality, sweetness and generosity of Julie, the owner is out of this world. She made our stay very memorable not least by the excellent dinners she prepared for us. If you like a bottle of wine at your dinner, avoid the Spanish house wine, but prefer the French St. Emilion, which is quite nice and very cheap. Our room...

Thank you Trip advisor for showing us this place to stay. We had already stayed in the B and B and the Chateau in the same village but this was something else. Great welcome, lovely room and magnificent evening meal. What can we say - fabulous salad, fish baked with potatoes and veg followed with cheese and pears in red...

The view from this establishment is just spectacular. This alone is worth a visit. Mine Hostess, Julie, is charming, interesting and attentive. Speaks 4 languages but says that her Cambodian is very rusty! The rooms are themed on the Round Table. We were in Sir Galahad which boasted a full window looking over the valley. Dinner was outstanding. Absolutely delicious....

Our family of 4 stayed for 3 nights in the middle of June and enjoyed a lot of our stay. We had two rooms, the other with stunning wiew and both of them, as in the whole hotel, with interesting medieval style decoration. It was really relaxing just to sit and admire the landscape opening from the window - the...

The view out of the restaurant/bar is phenomenal, and the medieval décor suits it well. I would recommend the evening meals; Julie is a great cook. All the meals are served at a communal table, so you get to meet your fellow travellers and share tips on the best walks nearby.

We spent one night here with friends on a recent trip to the Basque region. It is a lovely place and although work is still going on this does not detract from the experience. The young couple who own this place are putting their heart and soul into its development and everything is being done to a very high standard...

We had three lovely days here, and there is so much that is exceptional about this place. Firstly, the location and views are extraordinary, I could not actually believe that the view was as good as in the photographs. Secondly, the hotel itself is charming, I liked the mediaeval style theme, it added to the pleasure of the holiday, and...
