Very warm welcome from Celeste. She is a really attentive host without being over-bearing. We loved the delicious meals from local produce, cooked by Celeste's mother. Great walks straight from the house

As a team we felt at home at Hotel Rural Cortijo La Alberca. Great help from Celeste, she is very helpful! The rooms are clean, well styled, with a nice shower. The building and the outdoor facilities are lovely. On arrival we were well received by Celeste, it was a warm welcome. The breakfast is ample with tasty sandwiches, juices...

Firstly. This is one of those places that nobody believes exists. Totally gobsmacked on arrival. The view from the terrace towards Nijar is out of this world. The hotel is surrounded by enormous rocky hills on 3 sides and has been there for 250 years with extra accommodation added in the 60's. Celeste welcomed us as long lost friends showed...

The first thing you notice is the pool, well maintained and with excellent views. The staff are friendly, the food is simple but good and there is an excellent atmosphere. Our room was cozy though they have a septic tank and warn against putting loo roll down the loo !! That mere minor issue apart, we loved the place and...

The place was amazing. What a view. We arranged for dinner and had a great home meal. Good call to go with the bottle of wine. The host, Celeste, was simply wonderful. Both my wife and I highly recommend.

We just finished a one night's stay here during the off season. I wish we had more time to stay because Celeste is truly one of the nicest hostess ever! She's the perfect combination of friendly and helpful yet gives you your own space. The resort and rooms are as they appear online. This is a somewhat rustic experience but...

This offers very traditional cortijo rooms in a fabulous location just above Nijar town. The owner is very friendly, and helpful. Rooms are small but well equipped with ensuite facilities. The views from the cortijo are excellent, especially from the breakfast on which the very good breakfast is served.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? A wonderful oasis of peace and tranquility run by the unobtrusive but always attentive Celeste whose smile and gentle attention put a smile on my elderly father's face every day. Wonderful home cooked meals, should you wish, by Celeste's mother and a relaxing atmosphere meant it was a pleasure to return...

Probably the most friendly, welcoming Hotel I've ever stayed in. (End of May 2015) A family-run affair spearheaded by daughter Celeste, Cortijo La Alberca is located about five minutes drive from the centre of Nijar, a smart, friendly southern Spanish town. The eight rooms - some with private terraces - are furnished in traditional Spanish style. A lovely hot /...
