Cleopatra has a deserved reputation for incredible food and puts a lot of creativity and genius into their breakfast and dinner . The rooms are also very comfortable and the place is set around a beautiful lake with great views of the hills. My one reservation was that I found the hiking itself, whilst pretty, not necessarily that spectacular. I...

We recently spent 2 nights at the Cleopatra. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us but we could not have been in a better place. The scenery is stunning, even in bad weather. The farmhouse is homely and comfortable and the staff are so attentive it is a fabulous place to spend time. And as for the food, simply...

The road from Rosetta seemed never ending and we hoped it would lead to our expected destination. Eventually Cleopatra appeared after about 5km rough track and we were immediately welcomed and shown to our room, one of eleven all with different themes. Ours was Scandinavina and had everything we could want including electric blankets and a log fire. Dinner was...

Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse was in a lovely quiet location along a graded road towards the end. It was excellent with cottage suites all individually decorated. A log fire was lit in our room on chilly evenings. The food was really delicious .The 6 course set menu was discussed in detail before dinner. Two or three nights would be a perfect...

Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is situated beautifully. It is quite accessible (only 5 km of dirt road) but it is very remote. It is tranquil and the gardens are stunning and very well taken care of. The roses just look fantastic. It is quite desolate but this is part of the charm. The farmhouse has 11 rooms (I think a 12th...

It's not clear from the GPS that the last few kilometers are on a bumpy dirt road, but don't worry you are going the right way!. This hotel has an amazing herb garden, and beautiful grounds. The food that is included is five star as is the service. However, this is not a modern property, the bedrooms are cottages, which...

Stayed here for two nights. Arrived on a cold, foggy, rainy day to hot chocolate and cleansing towels. Our room was gorgeous with log burner, sherry and a lovely comfy bed. BUT the star of the show was the food! Phillipa the owner met us in the bar and explained every course that we would enjoy. Believe me the food...

We recently spent some time in the Kamberg as a family. Being resident in Cape Town - and loving food and wine naturally, we heard about Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse and we made a booking. We were not to be disappointed. From the welcome as we arrived to the sumptuous food and the very impressive, well-stocked underground wine cellar, everything was...
