I Highly recommend. Great venue, good vegetarian food, clean rooms. They have yoga sessions from April until November. Also perfect for idividuals who dont drive. There are buses from both bus snd train terminals right to downtown. From there is only 7 minutes walk to the ferry which is free.

Thank you for your sharing. It was our pleasure to share the retreat with you. And thank you for the information about the bus to the ferry terminal - a nice option for those who have time - we will add that to the website. Namaste, namaste, namaste...

I found this place through google last year, couldn’t make it last year but better late then never ! I visited Shanti on a Victoria Day long weekend. There’s something so serene about this place. The property is beautiful and gives a lot of positive vibes. Great place to restore and rejuvenate yourself with yoga and meditation. It is so convenient to travel to the island even if you don’t drive ! I took a train from Toronto to Kingston. A short taxi ride from Kingston railway station to Wolfe’s island ferry terminal. It takes about 20 minutes to reach Wolfe’s island by ferry. The ferry ride is free ! Ferry schedule is available on internet. My hosts were kind enough to offer a complimentary pick up from the Wolfe’s island ferry terminal to shanti retreat. It’s a heaven for vegetarians as shanti offers only vegetarian food ! I have never had such variety and variation of vegetarian food though I am a vegetarian since my childhood. I enjoyed the delicious dishes through out my stay. Needless to say that the food served is very healthy and light for stomach. It’s a good retreat for your stomach as well ! I would highly recommend this retreat for anyone who wants to take some time off from routine and want to take a pause to reflect, relax and restore. Heaven for Yoga enthusiast. Om Shanti !

Just spent a wonderful weekend at Shanti with a couple of friends, everything was amazing ! The property is beautiful, set right on the lake with many gorgeous mature trees which created a beautiful background for this retreat, especially at this time of year with all the fall colours. The staff, owners/ hosts were all very lovely people. The food was excellent, You could tell it was made with love ! Compliments to the chef ! The home and our room was cozy, we felt comfortable and at home. Overall the people and the place has loving energy. Would definitely return for more retreats. Even the island has a great vibe.

Shanti Yoga Retreat is an amazing facility. The food was amazing and they were able to accommodate my gluten free diet. All the food is vegetarian?? Or vegan. I am not a vegetarian but if I could eat meals that tasty, nutritious and satisfying, I would become one. I did buy their cookbook hoping to replicate the delicious meals. The grounds are lovely. There is a variety of different types of retreats available so choosing can be a challenge. I stayed in a cottage this time and it was comfortable but a little musty smelling so we kept a window open to solve that. This was my second retreat and I will gladly return. Doors could use DW30 as squeak.

What a fabulous place to unwind, eat great vegetarian dishes, meet great people, and enjoy nature! At this retreat, yoga and pilates were taught by not one but two great instructors, namely Sandy McHugh and Mark Morra! Who could ask for anything more!

Room Tip: Rooms are pretty much the same but ask for the bay view (if you can); it's worth it.
