The rooms were clean, very comfortable, the staff was amazing , location was breathtaking. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Sauraha. They arranged all the safari for us ,it was easy for us to entertain without any hassle.
We had a great time and were treated like royalty in the KGH hotel - The food was wonderful and the serve was amazing - We spend a few day in the resort just as the rest of the world were headed home (Covid-19) . Ask for bungalow room (separate units). Like all KGH hotels this place is cleaner than any other hotel I have stayed at in Nepal. Great reputation and really friendly staff. All of the activities they arranged for us were also above what I saw other hotels offering - We had a personal guide for 2 days. I highly recommend this and all KGH hotels - they are worth the few extra $ you might pay.
I checked in this KGH hotels Maruni Sanctuary Lodge with few of my relatives. We were in total 16 pax. Came here for 2 nights including the 31st Dec night. Can u imagine the hotel has no programme for the New Year Night. After enquiring, we were informed that the kitchen would shut at 9pm and the last orders should be placed before 8 pm. How can u close the restaurant so early on the New year Eve ?? The rooms are also not very well lit. The AC does not switch to heater mode when u want it to. The room does not have an electric kettle and the tea coffee set which is compulsory in rooms which deprives us from making tea and coffee in the cold morning. No room service. No room telephone. Very limited staff. If I want anything to eat and drink, you have to come to the restaurant. Although the chef was quite helpful who cooked a few of vegetarian food on request. We had our own music system with which we had our own party with the help of other hotel guests. All in all a below average hotel by the KGH group. I checked in due to the KGH brand but was disappointed. Not possible for me to recommend this hotel to anyone. Thanks Arun Biratnagar Date - 30 Dec - 1st Jan 2020…
Recently I had stay at Maruni Lodge in Sauraha. This is run by KGH group and we had wonderful time. All staffs and guides are very professional and they took very good care of us. Their meals are very delicious and yummy. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. I do my own travel business and our almost guests also enjoying their stay at Maruni. Next week i am going with family for 2 nights 3 days tour. My contact person for this hotel was Krishna Shrestha and he seems very professional and kind to make all bookings very properly. During my jeep drive...i was lucky and i saw Royal Bengali Tiger. Our guide Shashim was very professional and we felt very secure from his services. I strongly recommend this Maruni lodge for Safari tour in Sauraha, Chitwan National Park.
Pulling in through the gates of the hotel one gets whisked away back in time. Into a remote jungle location in a bygone century. The place is serene, calming and beautiful. The staff meet and greet u at the parking lot, take your belongings and escort u to the reception area where we were given a cold refreshing drink. Check in was easy and we were showed to our rooms. This place really is heaven on earth. One really doesn’t want to leave. The resort itself is very simple yet it provides u with everything one needs. The food is delicious. The wait staff go out of their way (as do the rest of the staff) to make ur experience here the best u have ever had. I can’t say enough of how wonderful our stay here was. The manager made all the arrangements for our extra activities. And we truly felt like we were treated like kings and queens here. This place should be on everyone’s bucket list. We can not emphasize how much we recommend this place over any other one here in Chitwan (Sauraha). …
The hotel itself was very good, there was just some safety concerns for the guided walk I wanted to make sure people were aware of to be better informed. We were told we were going on a nature walk in the morning and after a nice canoe ride me and my travel companion were left on a bank and told some general safety things to follow if we encountered wild rhinos, tigers, sloth bears on the walk. Then our guide gave us a stick and left us alone to pick up another guide across the river... Just as they crested the bank to return, a wild rhino came out of the trees and they started screaming for us to get back and how they don't like red (one of us had a red rain jacket on that no one said anything about). Then they said how a guide and a tourist got severely attacked 10 days prior (tourist critical) because they got too close to a rhino with a baby and were air lifted out and how it was good "the sat phone worked that day". Thus, it seems the phone is not reliable. One guide is supposed to be in front and one behind as per park regulations, but that was not always adhered to as one would leave to take phone calls or pick some vegetation. The walk was great, just be aware of the safety standards there are not rigorous and can be quite dangerous.…
We stayed here with exodus for two nights & found it so peaceful & calm after the chaos & traffic of much of northern India. The rooms in individual huts are simple safari style - so don’t expect too much but the excellent staff and guides on safaris more than made up for this. We were lucky enough to see numerous birds, crocodiles, black sloth bears and rhinos. The manager madhav was particularly knowledgeable on the wildlife and so enthusiastic about this beautiful part of Nepal.
We planned to stay 2 nights, we stayed 4. Madhav, the manager is probably the best source of info about all Nepal. Just ask and he has an answer about best places to stop, best places to visit, best itineraries to cycle touring. Madhav guide us 2 days in the jungle. Pirogue, hike, bike.... he knows where to find the rhinos, passionately by birds he can spot them before we even see them. The staff was super helpful , the room basic but very comfortable. Shabby and charming. Food served as a buffet. Mainly Nepali food. A very good experience and only few minutes walk from Sauhara. A real jungle resort experience.
Simple rooms, good kitchen, but the guide was super professionel, a wise nature guide for wilderness. Thank you for this tour. Below we didn t see tigers and the neckhorn just like a grey stone in the grass. Many birds, a track from the tiger, elephants and the roar of one of them quite in the near were very interesting. Thank you for the crocodile that eats fish and the crocodile taht eats all!
Comfortable and quiet. Stayed here for two nights with a student group and it was actually perfect for that. The students had space and there was enough to do in between the activities we’d chosen to do. We had the basic rooms which was fine when considering where in the world we are. Yes, the hot water took some time to flow, but so what. Many of the people around the hotel probably don’t have any running water? The meals provided was actually really really good. Fresh and tasty vegetables, noodles and meat dishes, for breakfast lunch and dinner. I would cone again on my own as well, just if you would like to know.
