Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food quality was excellent and the room I had, had a balcony with a good view. I would recommend this hotel, the only thing I would say is they need a pool.
We had a great guide, Janak Pariyar, who was very dedicated to ensuring that we had a very good wildlife experience in Chitwan. Janak worked tirelessly to ensure that we were in the park at the best times possible and in the best positions to see wildlife. After the long days were over, he would come back and help us fill out our species list which was much appreciated. He knew all the birds and mammals in the area and was able to spot things that were very difficult to see. He did a great job. Friendly staff and good food made my vacation to explore Chitwan National park very successful and enjoyable. We stayed there for just over a week and the rooms were clean and the eating area overlooks a river and a field where you can sometimes see elephants bathing in the water!
We spent 3 days at sapana village lodge and had such an unforgettable stay there. Fantastic garden, Cosy and lovely decorated rooms and delicious food - not to forget the nice, kind and helpful staff! Special thanks to Avi who made our Jeep Safari a very impressive and unique event we will always remember! He knows all the places to spot rhinos, bears and tigers. So we got to see so many animals from very close distance and even saw one of the only 23 leopards living in Chitwan National Park! We‘re still so excited about the experiences and memories we made and would highly recommend a stay at Sapana village lodge + jungle jeep Safari with Avi!
We had a fantastic 3 nights at Sapana. The whole place was tasteful and clean. There were loads of trees for shade and to keep the heat down. Staff were great. WiFi coverage was excellent. We got to do almost everything with just our family (including children age 5&7) we had the same guide who accompanied us on almost all activities. The elephants were an absolute highlight including washing and feeding them. The staff were always ready to grab a jeep when the kids had walked enough and they also enjoyed the playground. We hope next time we come the pool will be complete. My only complaint was how awfully slow the kitchen was (often taking an hour to serve) even if there weren’t many people eating. They might well benefit from less options they could serve quicker. Their work in the local community is also really commendable, sadly there wasn’t a great deal in the fair trade shop worth having, a range of Christmas Tree decorations might be nice.…
We have just returned to Kathmandu after the most wonderful 4 day/3-night stay in the Sepana Village Lodge in the Chitwan National Park. A planned family vacation, we indulged in the Lodge's set programme for our visit including; the Tharu Village and Cultural Tour Day 1, a Private (Extra) half-day Jeep Safari, followed by a River Canoe Trip and Jungle Walk Day 2 and an Elephant Walk including Breakfast, Spa treatment, some River Fishing and Special Elephant Dinner Experience on Day 3. A slower start on our departure morning also included a short visit to the Sepana Village School. From the moment we arrived after our long drive, we were made to feel at home. The Manager, Naran, greeted us and briefed us on the plans for the coming days. The programme did not disappoint and nor did the care and fabulous customer service by the whole team. The bedrooms were clean, well equipped and comfortable, the gardens and outside relaxation areas were well kept and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Of note, the staff could not do enough for you. From the family-friendly lodge to the immersive experiential programme, we, and especially the children (7&8), were captivated by the beauty, peace and tranquillity of the area. To be with the elephants, walking and feeding them was a particular favourite, but seeing the Gharial, Crocodiles and the vast array of beautiful birds on the Canoe Trip was a close second. All of these experiences were made better by our guide Ovi who imparted his knowledge, not to the adults but to the children who thought it was wonderful! We missed out on the Tigers and Bears this trip, but pretty much saw everything else the Park had to offer. The truly lovely part of the visit to Sepana Village Lodge is their development project work supporting the community. We were lucky enought to see the School, bought some of the Sepana Design products and felt we were also contributing something special by being there. There are not enough superlatives to say about our visit and the fact the children wanted to stay (particularly with the elephants) says it all. Our compliments and thanks to Naran, Ovi, the front of house team and the management for what they are doing. We will definitely visit again later this year.…
What a perfect place to stay and visit Chitwan National Park! Sapana Village Lodge is a truly peaceful and green oasis which you can just spend hours chilling in one of the many chill areas. The garden is beautifully maintained and you have a really nice view over the river where a lot of elephants (with their carers) come for a bath. We also booked the half day jeep safari and the overnight jungle stay there. We especially liked the overnight stay with our guide Janek. He knows a lot about the park and all the animals. The stay is really nice and the dinner and breakfast very well arranged. We also did quite some walking and saw 5 Rhino's really close by. One encounter was really dangerous but Janek knew exactly what to do and scared away the Rhino's. What a cool experience! Thanks Janek for making the jungle experience so memorable! …
Soon after our arrival the manager helped us to plan our following two days and fit everything in we wanted. Starting with a nice bicycle ride trough the natural villages surrounding Sauraha, we got first impressions of the area and the people there. The next day followed with a half day junge walk and canoeing down the river between crocodiles and birds. After that we only had short walk to the tree house where we spent our night. We even were lucky enough to see a mother rhino with it's baby. Of course luck is not everything in the jungle, that's why we were really pleased and felt save with our guide Janak. He professionally guided us trough the jungle, showing us the best spots for any animal and never stopped providing us with detailed information about whatever you can imagine. Thanks a lot for that :) Back in Sapna village we had one last nice lunch and took the driver organized by the team to Pokhara. Thank you for the great service, advice and amazing experiences you made possible for us.…
Hi there Namaste, We have been to Sapana village lodge few time for lunch and drinks can’t remember but more then three times I guess, I was amazed when my wife took me there for first time and I insist her to stay there as I like the ambiance very much unfortunately we did not stayed there, but yesterday we got chance and managed our time out of busy schedule to go there and booked room with very high hope but when we reached there inside our room all the windows were open and the room was super cold and we closed all of it and turn on AC mounted on the wall it turns at 30degree itself and blows only cold air but I can’t changer any thing coz of its function won’t let me change it and I let it run hoping it will be hotter inside the room but it was the worse night ever in this winter of Sauraha can’t sleep whole night wow…and the room was not nice either bedsheets was damp and smelly, bathroom was not nice either the toilet spray didn’t work and no hot water at all in this winter morning….I don’t say anything to staffs I’m sorry but stayed in SVL was super uncomfortable…please check your room services ac and hot water system before releasing room to you guest thank you very much……
did the inclusive package for 3 days 4 nights. Thoroughly impressed and massively entertained. our guide for the two days, Abinash Raut, was fantastic and could name and describe the habits of every animal and bird we came across. He made such an effort during our jungle walk to find a Tiger too! In the end we saw 6 Rhinos, crocodiles, a wild pig and 3 different types of kingfishers. Honestly had the most marvellous time. Food was excellent, I can recommend the surprise dishes, which were the most beautiful plates of food i've been served anywhere (one had an apple swan in the middle). Extremely tasty too! The rooms were clean and lovely, the bathrooms clean with toiletries provided. The relaxing areas are beautiful, and from which you can see elephants half the time! I don't know what I was expecting but this surpassed it and I'm so glad I went.…
Although the Lonely Planet tells you to avoid Sauraha, Sapana lodge is warmly recommended. It is situated far enough from the hustle and bustle. Our twin room was comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful and great to spend an early morning bird watching. Late afternoon you will spot a rhino from the terrace. The restaurant provides tasty meals. Staff speaks English and is very helpful. The lodge offers various trips. We did a one day safari in the park with a very knowledgeable guide. And an interesting "religious tour" that took us to a number of temples and sacred Hindu sites. Will book again!
