With an approximately 4 hours drive by road or a 15 minutes flight from Kathmandu, Sapana Village is definitely a suitable destination for individuals, couples and families. A uniquely designed hotel with an authentic Tharu decoration, Sapana Village aims to support the local community. Started as a small business hotel, it has developed as the sustainable and responsible eco tourism project contributing to the indigenous people of the Terai region. Sapana Village Lodge has a small petting zoo for the children. We have rabbits, goats, peacocks , chickens and two elephants named Champakali and Chanchalkali. Our beautiful botanical and medicinal herbs and plants have become the residence for more than a hundred regular and migrant birds of the lowlands of Nepal. You will receive an amazing wake up call by these beautiful coloured birds! At the lodge, you can book a great variety of excursions.Sapana Village Lodge has 28 beautifully decorated deluxe rooms. We stayed at Sapana Village lodge for two nights in March. The staff was very welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived, and our room was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. They also have a pleasant garden, with all kinds of flowers, trees, and three very sweet dogs. The

Comfortable and spacious
One of the houses with rooms.
My room. Spacious and nicely decorated.
They provide mosquito coils and electric gadgets, but mosquitoes are ferocious there. to keep the windows and doors closed and the Air Con are always a better guarrantee. Use repellent and white clothes and long sleeves at dawn. When I was there it was rainy season. This is nature, and tigers even rhinos are not easy to see but if you are lucky. But there is plenty of wild lifearround do not miss the elephant bathing every morning in the river in front of you during the breakfast.

How far from the park? How easy is it to get to the park? Thanks
The park is roughly 2km away--very close with easy transport options from the hotel.

We were there in March where it was already warm and dry. We can't remember if there was any heat in the rooms or not - since it was warm. We remember that the stream of water was fine. The room that we had - the shower was not in a separate room - but instead was in a private alcove, set back. The toilet was in it's own little room. Hope this helps

I have stayed at Sapana 3 times and enjoyed it every time. I think if you want to go into the park the package deal is a good one to do. The optimum stay is 2 to 3 nights and it is easy to do the elephant ride (not recommended), canoe trip (nice), elephant breeding stables (ok), but the best is to go on a guided walk through the CNP. I am not sure what they cover with the 3 night package. I believe the previous traveler gave the correct rates and information.
