The Tamaya resort and spa were gorgeous, and I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading to a mountain view room... waking up to sunrise with that view was soul filling in and of itself. The spa is amazing as well, calming and not over-done. The walking/hiking path takes you down by the Rio Grande and has several nooks and crannies to stop and take in the breeze blowing through the Cottonwood trees or spot a lizard or deer. It would be a gorgeous trip during fall foliage change. I loved every moment I got to stand in awe of the mountains. I also greatly appreciated the sharing of the Tamaya people and history that is available through the artwork, video narratives, demonstrations, and the museum. This truly was an amazing gem of a location! I hope to be back.

Hotel's Favorite
Stayed here for 4 nights recently on vacation. Check in was a simple affair as no one was waiting. Received upgrade to mountain view room as Globalist (no suites showing in app so this appeared to be the correct upgrade based on displayed availability). Parking is free for self park, which is a short couple to few minute walk to the lobby area. Valet was not provided free for globalist award stay, so the standard free parking for all was what we used. The view of the mountain from the room was lovely and the balcony offered a nice little area to sit and enjoy the view and the tons of hummingbirds and swallows that live around the property. The room itself was fine...a decent size although the bathroom was a little cramped in the shower/sink/door area, requiring you to close the door to the bathroom to enter and exit the shower. The shower also had a curtain which made it harder to prevent water from spilling out, but offered good water pressure and was otherwise fine. Housekeeping was supposedly every other day only, which is clearly a cost cutting move, which I found obnoxious, but in practice they serviced our room 2 days in a row once, and I believe if you really wanted it done, you simply had to ask. Overall the room was solid. Food in the cafe was very good for breakfast and offered a brunch type selection with breakfast and more lunch style options, which was a nice touch. The hotel also offered 24 hour room service (finally a hotel interested in customer friendly full service instead of so-typical-these-days BS "covid" excuse cost cutting to nickel and dime). We had dinner at the cafe also, and it was excellent and fairly priced (eating on property for dinner was a direct result of the generous globalist treatment and high quality breakfast options). Corn Maiden, their highly lauded fine dining establishment is returning at some point I was told, although it is closed as of this writing. One issue, the breakfast options on the 24hr service were not available until 0700, so if you want or need an early breakfast, you are hard pressed. The options are pretty thin before 0700 for breakfast...I would like to see them add at least 1 or 2 breakfast items to the all night "crave" menu, so if you need a 0500 or 0600 breakfast you can get one, even if it is limited options. Also, you could select room delivery by 10 minute increments, but then when you place the order, you get a message telling you to allow 20 minutes for deliver past the selected time. If you are offering small increments like 10 minutes, requiring a 20 minute grace is pretty wide. My advice, tighten up the delivery to be on time, or at least narrow it to 5 minutes. We actually were planning an early day trip departure from the hotel to Carlsbad Caverns the day we got room service, and requested 0700 (which was cutting it very close). Our food came at 0720 and had our trip not gotten cancelled at the last minute by weather, that 0720 would not have worked out. Offering 24hr room service is awesome, but the delivery and the options offered at various hours could use a little polishing. The gym was functional enough, although it was pretty small and had a limited amount of machines for weights if you are interested in that. A healthy number of free weights and one of the large combo type machines where you can try and do multiple exercises, but very few purpose driven weight machines and one (the seated leg press) was broken. About 7 cardio machines or various types, a few ellipticals, 4 treadmills and a bike. The grounds are very lovely and worth walking as they connect to some nature trails that go to the river, as well as offer a rescue horse stable (where you can buy some grass pellets to offer the horses), a ton of swallows and hummingbirds all over the property as well. There is an adult pool as well as a general purpose pool with a water slide. The property itself is a little away from most anything, as it is about a 10 min drive to the freeway and it is about 20-40 minutes from most everything in ABQ, but it is not terribly inconvenient. It was a nice change to find staff that were helpful and competent, as opposed to the current trend of no staffing anywhere and what staff you do find in many places seem to have an attitude that you should just be grateful to them for even "working." Everyone was friendly, engaging and helpful...the desk staff, the servers at the cafe, the young man seating us at the cafe, everyone. Is the property perfect? No but the complaints are very small and outweighed by the excellence. It gets 5 stars, not because it is Park Hyatt Vienna sublime but because it stands well above many of the similar resort level options that would "compete" with it and it was an excellent value. Overall, it was a great stay and I would return if we decide to visit that area again.

The grounds were wonderful; the food for both the restaurant and bar was very good. I really enjoyed the apple bread pudding it was outstanding! However, when I was in my room it felt like the average 3 star hotel. The towels were rough, no bathrobe or slippers; average bedding. Even the lotion and hand soap was in bulk containers and locked to the sink.

Beautiful, peaceful, serene, whisper-touched... Complimentary cruiser bikes to ride, The Stables @ Tamaya 🐴, golf, three pools (one very lovely round pool)... when looking for a place to 'get away', this resort fits the bill. The outdoor jacuzzi is to live for... most powerful one I've ever encountered. Men probably can't stay long in it, but the ladies love it. 😉 You can't help but enjoy your time here.

Very welcoming staff for a facility in a beautiful and peaceful location. Enjoyed running along the Rio Grande and amongst the cottonwoods. Enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night and watching the stars.

I had an exceptional stay thanks to the wonderful staff as well as Claudia Wattenberg, the GM, who was so welcoming! Claudia helped me get set up with Katie Buongiorno at the stables to organize a horseback ride for me and colleagues of mine in Legal at the Corp. office. Everyone was super helpful and really helped us take advantage of all there was to do at the resort. PLUS it's just a gorgeous resort, very spiritual/serene and if you're looking for a getaway, to unwind, relax and enjoy nature, this is place for you.

This is one of the most gorgeous places I've had the privilege of visiting. The beauty is unmatched and the rich indigenous culture preservation is so incredibly special. I look forward to bringing my family back to this resort very soon!

I was there for a conference. Limping to the counter, I was placed in a room that was about as far away from the conference rooms as possible. The counter girl even commented on my limp. We received inaccurate directions resulting in a lengthy unnecessary excursion. When I complained, I was moved to literally the closest room available. They fixed a problem that should not have occurred. The facility was clean and beds were ok but a bit soft. Pillows were bricks.

Was there for a conference... beautiful resort in the heart of the desert. Great amenities! Enjoyed the bike riding trails. Staff friendly and helpful. Would prefer to have a shuttle available from and to the airport and taxis available by reception area. Long waits for Uber/Lyft.

Room dated, had bugs, bathroom smelled! Support staff for conference was poor, no coffee cups at afternoon break, no toilet paper in 3/5 stalls in the ladies restroom. Pepsi instead of Coke, and $7.00 for it??
