Very cool rooms with the view of the falls. Very friendly staff and good food. I wish I could stay more to enjoy this amazing place. Sure will be back again next time. Thanks a lot for everything and good luck!
This is must visit place in Uganda. You can hear the sound of the falls right from your room and too see it from your windows. Very friendly staff, cool atmosphere and clean surroundings. Highly recommended! Good job!
Although the lodge itself is quite nice, the staff on ground were pretty useless in making sure we were being taken care of. The lodge shuts at 10pm, forcing all guests to go to their room. We were only told about this at 9pm on the same night (an hour before). Such a rule should definitely be informed to guests prior to making their booking. We requested to use the lounge area past 10pm and they refused. Coincidently the power went off at this very moment, making us navigate our way to our rooms in the dark. The manager (Benjamin) was not around but I managed to get his number to see if we could stay in the lounge area (which is the only place to sit except for your bedroom.) He replied saying he is tired and relaxing and cannot help me. He said if I have a problem I should tell Tripadvisor. I would definitely not recommend this place. Low quality is one thing but bad customer service is the last thing one needs when going away for a weekend.…
We fled Kampala for a long weekend and went to Sipi River Lodge. We had been to the location before, but did not stay overnight at the Lodge. The lodge and rooms are simple, but lovely. If you are lucky, you will be in a room with direct views of the Falls. Falling asleep to the sound of rushing water is amazing. The food service was fine, well proportioned and satisfying meals. We did hiking tours with a guide and recommend taking advantage of good exercise and spectacular views of Falls. Tip: If you are also traveling for down time, you may want to bring a head-lamp/torch for the trails and even a good reading light. The trails to the rooms (though not terribly long) can be slick from the mist from the Falls and a bit tricky in the dark.
I've been to numerous lodges in Uganda and Sipi River Lodge is truly fantastic! The lodge is gorgeous, the staff is great at meeting the needs of guests and very personable. Our guide James, was a wonderful source of information and so helpful in accomodating our family's needs (not always easy to hike to a waterfall with a 10 month old along). Nancy, another staff member, helped take care of our baby while we ate our meals, took naps, and went on the hikes with us, so the baby could stay back and not get too wet from the waterfalls. The rooms were clean, spacious, and beautiful, with the most gorgeous view of a waterfall from our window. And, as for the waterfalls themselves, truly majestic! One of the most beautiful places I've visited anywhere in the world!
