Situated on one of beautiful island in Mekong River, Cai Be Town, Tien Giang Province, Mekong Ecolodge stand beside Cai Be floating Market and inside fruit gardens which emphasize the beautiful but seldom visit rural area on the side of Mekong River. With 80 per cent Vietnamese live in the countryside, visitor to Vietnam are rarely given opportunity to peek beneath the veil of this age-old-culture. It is our goal to set a benchmark in ecotourism here that can be replicated throughout the region. In order to do this, we need to continue to show our guests how most Vietnamese actually live, far removed from tourist hot pots which dot the country. Beautiful natural surroundings notwithstanding, it's not surroundings nor the brick and mortar of villages which make up communities. It's the people. In Mekong Ecolodge, it is important to us that you feel welcomed and included. We do this by offering the true Mekong Vietnamese hospitality. This is necessary if we wish to learn as much from you as we hope you learn from us.

The Mekong Ecolodge was a unique place to stay. We stayed in a standalone bungalow, which was charming. Used the mosquito net at night and had no issues at all with bugs. Taking a shower outside was fun and refreshing. The bamboo lounge chairs in our porch were so comfortable!
I would have like to have more than 1 pillow per person so it would have been more comfortable to read before bed.
We had hot water in the room but didn't see coffee or tea, so don't know why we had hot water. We probably could have asked for some--the staff is SO nice and helpful and friendly.
The food was excellent and the meals we had were embarrassingly large... we wasted a lot, which I always hate doing, but there's no way we could eat everything served to us. We really enjoyed the bikes and took 2 wonderful rides. We also hunted for catfish for dinner in the muddy canal, which was hilariously fun. And, we did a cooking class, which was fun.
This place was very wonderful and relaxing. I did not enjoy the very loud karaoke from the local karaoke joint in the evening, but fortunately, it only lasted for an hour and ended before 9pm. One of my friends who lives nearby said karaoke is just to be expected there.
A very nice place to stay overall.

My wife and I had a 3 - day stay here some days ago. I must say, it is a truly wonderful vacation. Everything is perfect, the landscape, the environment, the staff and the resort owner (Ms. Hue). By our last day we had been taken to the ferry by Ms. Hue and her man, it is bit surprising memory, haha. I would recommend you all to come and try this (the resort), to taste the local dishes, the hospitality and more… Surely will come back. Thanks for everything set for us. Long and wife (15 – 17 April, 2021).

The staff at the ledge were absolutely wonderful and we were looked after mainly be Miss Tam. She was our server at meal times and also conducted a cooking class with us. The bungalows are very comfortable and very spacious. We had 2 bungalows for our family of 4 and the bathrooms are huge. The mattress was super comfy and a lovely big mosquito net over the bed, although I didn't see any mozzies. There are bikes to use to explore the island which I would highly recommend. Food excellent.

We recently did the 2 day/1 night stay at the Mekong Ecolodge and loved it! It was quite the adventure getting there because we foolishly forgot to email the lodge with our bus arrival time from Ho Chi Minh City, but we were able to find and take the ferry and arrange motorbike taxis to the lodge ourselves despite the language barrier. And once we arrived at the ecolodge, we were very well looked after, especially by our guide Huyen. She insisted we sit and have a cold drink while she organized our check-in, she showed us to our room, then took our lunch order and told us to relax for an hour or so. Our room was actually a wonderful thatch roof rattan and wood bungalow that felt a bit like glamping, but for the AC, the beautiful bathroom with an open shower and a koi pond (really!), the great beds (hard like all over SE Asia, but happily I like them like that!) and beautiful windows on 3 sides. The covered porch had a table and 2 comfortable lounge chairs. Perfect! The meals were delicious Vietnamese fare, reasonably priced and generous servings. The beer was cold. We took a boat tour with Huyen in the afternoon (for an additional fee) and saw many interesting things. We went on a traditional row boat through narrow canals in the area. We stopped at Mekong Garden for tea, fruit, a traditional Vietnamese folk music show and a tour of their fruit orchard. We toured a place that shows you how rice paper, coconut candy, rice wine and puffed rice treats are made, and then we had tea and sampled it all. We also toured a very old house in the area. On our way back to the ecolodge, we saw the rice terminals and saw a beautiful sunset from the boat. The next day, Huyen arranged for our transportation to our next stop in Can Tho. Our stay was really made special by Huyen who is bright, personable, good humoured and cares about the guests. She speaks English very well and is able to bridge the language barrier. We loved this little glimpse into rural living in Vietnam.

Very peaceful and beautiful place in the middle of nowhere! We stopped there as part of an organised tour and took cooking classes and had lunch there! The staff was very nice and food delicious (even if we found bugs in the soup!!) The tiny garden very charming and room seemed nice!

I was hesitant to stay here after recommendation from travel agent for an authentic Mekong experience . I should have gone with my instincts, lucky we only stayed for 1 night. This place is OK if you are looking for back packer/ basic style accommodation. But for US$222 a night for a family of 3 I certainly expected more- we stayed at 5star resorts in other parts of Vietnam for less. The good: Good air con, friendly staff, nice little bike ride around village, enjoyable cooking lesson The bad: Room poor, hard bed, no safe for valuables, questionable cleanliness, ratty towels, something crawling around the room at night (my daughter was so scared she ended up in bed with us), very basic breakfast- oily fried egg and a bread roll. It would have been good if we were supplied with a map and details of places around the island to self explore. There was also excessively loud and terrible karaoke happening next door to the lodge for a few hours the first afternoon- out of the lodges control I guess but after reading other reviews it certainly doesn't appear to be an isolated incident. Not a terrible experience, but every time I remember how much we were paying to stay here I got extremely annoyed.

Dear Mrs Susan, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your detail of feedback about Mekong EcoLodge. We continue to improve our staff's skill and breakfast, and problem in bathroom and the bed as you mentioned. We are out of control with some local culture and habits as our local neighbors opened songs and sing karaoke. Thanks and Best regards! Ngo Huu Nhat Thanh (Mr.) Sales and Marketing Director

Ecolodge is well situated on an island in the Mekong delta. Although it's labelled as Home Stay, there are 11 separate bungalows with each its own terrace and clean facilities. Central dining and breakfast organised like a hotel, cooking class included. But then came the night : if you sleep light and you hoped to have great rest at the country side, think again ! All around there's karaoke, dogs and frogs, and when they go finally to sleep around 5am, ducks and cocks and workers take over the ever present noise. Personally I needed a full day of recovery, a pity during holiday.

We recently spent 2 nights at the Ecolodge and cannot fault the staff and the activities provided (cooking class, fishing). The food was all fresh, locally sourced and expertly prepared. As a family, we also enjoyed using the bikes provided to explore the island. The first afternoon/evening we were 'treated' to the tone-deaf neighbour's endless karaoke (see previous review) but this is outside the control of the Ecolodge. The next day he mercifully put his mike away. We could hear the traffic at the nearby ferry but didn't find this a problem.

Truly memorable stay. Rooms were clean, food was good and plentiful and staff were helpful and pleasant. But the most memorable part was the bike ride (organised by the lodge) where we met the people who live on the river.
What a memorable experience
