It took a bit of a trip to get from Phnom Penh but when we were arriving by the boat at Canvas & Orchid it was all worth it. Coming in by boat you finally relax after the 'fast' trip from Phnom Penh as you glide up to the floating resort. The initial impression is one of the resort being in tune with the surrounding river and jungle. The check in was seamless and when we got to our floating tent it was amazing. The fact there is no any air conditioning did not worry us the whole time we were in the resort. The food and wine selection was excellent, great little bar to get your afternoon drinks as the sun sets. The excursions we did showed us the beautiful surroundings that surrounds the floating tents. Gliding down river to the mangroves was amazing and then going up river…
We stayed at Canvas and Orchids last month (for 3 nights) and are just so glad that we did. Any internal journey taken is really worth it; once you arrive all the hassle is forgotten! As we have said before in other reviews, it would be unfair to name specific members of the 'Canvas' team - everyone made our stay incredibly special. We won't forget you! We stayed in an over water 'tent' - this is 'glamping' at its most luxurious! However, we also saw the family tents that were set back just a little from the river - we don't think you will be disappointed. All tents are so beautifully furnished and decorated. Tent? What tent? The food at Canvas is just what you would hope for. Breakfast is a la carte but there is always room for negotiation, while the dinner menu…
This is an amazing floating hotel absolutely respectful with the environment and the Cambodja people. Very, very good local meals in an astonishing scenario. You can take different activities as to go for a bath to Tatai river or go at night to see fireflies.
An idyllic, remote paradise that is worth the drive and boat trip up river. The host and staff could not do enough for us, they make every guest feel welcome and special. I love the eco-attitude to the resort (no plastic), which I would love to see in move of beautiful Cambodia. Fabulous food, wonderful trips to the waterfalls & fire flies. Perfect in every way and very sad to leave.
Our family just loved our stay in the paradise that is Canvas & Orchids Retreat. Anna, Ravi and the team are all just so lovely and committed to ensuring your stay is wonderful. Our tent on the water was just the perfect ‘glamping’ experience, feeling the water beneath the tent and being able to jump in for a swim anytime is just incredible. 100% worth the additional travel time to get here as it’s a part of Cambodia we are so thankful to have been able to see. Arkoun thom thom to the whole team who made this a special stay to remember 🙏
We were so lucky to visit and stay 2 nights in this lodge. The owners and their staff (all from the community around) were so nice, helpfuled and learn so many interesting things. They are doing such a great job in this area, for animal and people who are living there. I would definitely would love to come back. They made a cake especially for us to celebrate our honeymoon 🥰.
Repeating what many positive reviews have already stated. The location is idyllic and secluded. The 20 min boat trip to reach the resort is beautiful. The tents are beautifully furnished and clean. Staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Nothing is ever too much. Food is varied and caters for vegetarians (which we are). They have a comprehensive wine and cocktail menu. We particularly liked how this resort is trying to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible. They put a lot of effort into training their local staff giving underprivileged people a great opportunity to earn a living, teaching them that poaching is not an ethical way of earning money and that there are alternatives. We loved getting up at dawn to watch the river and its wildlife come to life…
A beautiful place with great staff that doesn't only take best care of the guests but also local community and environment. Definitely a recommendation to explore the area around or just relax in the beautiful nature.
We stayed at 4 rivers floating lodge for 5 nights over new years. All of the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond our expectations to provide exceptional service. Every meal we had was delicious and they offered a wide range of dishes and cuisines that meant we always had choice. All of the staff were knowledgeable about the environment and local area and were always happy to answer any questions we had. There is always an excursion available, and we were allowed to enjoy everything at our own pace. The rooms were very clean and we wanted for nothing. This was an incredible experience and the passion for the environment and the amount of work that goes into making sure the resort is as environmentally friendly as possible, is insane. The…
