Like a rare butterfly, Cambodia has emerged from a troubled past to show off its beauty. Away from the tourist trail, there is another country, a land of unspoilt virgin forest, rare orchids, startling colours and calls of birds of paradise, secretive jungle creatures and a perfumed air of peace and solitude. This ecological miracle deserves an environmentally friendly resort that captures the imagination while offering the luxury of a four-star boutique resort. Peaceful seclusion, privacy, luxury, exclusivity . . . Welcome to Canvas & Orchids Retreat

4 Rivers is really, really special - a small island of ecological purity in a country bedevilled by plastic and disregard for the natural environment. Presided over with boundless enthusiasm by the amazing Anna, 4 Rivers delivers a special experience to its guests in real comfort. The staff are wonderfully friendly and engaged, the food is excellent and the whole experience relaxing and gentle - dive off the pier into the river, take a trip up to the waterfall (wonderful butterflies when we were there) and kayak some of the way back. Thank you to Anna, Darong and all of the staff for looking after us so attentively.

We went for our anniversary and it was soo worth it! Both the money wise and the drive from Phnom Pehn! All the staff was so friendly and helpful from the reservation process to the general manager, our Filipino tour guide, waiter, boat driver and gentleman that greeted us at the reception area! (Sorry I’m so bad with names). They were kind enough to pick us up earlier so we can enjoy more of the time there. It’s about 30 min boat ride and so quiet & peaceful as soon as you arrive. After sunset they take you to see the fireflies on the river. Dinner was a 3 course meal and was amazing and once again went the extra mile offering us a Prosecco for our anniversary and a cake!! The rooms are spacious and have fans and all the amenities you need including a yoga mat! The hotel offer free kayaks and paddle boards. Straight from your room you can jump in the river, the water is so clear. The next day we did the tour to the Tatai waterfalls, very worth doing ! The nature is just wow and again food amazing, service and the details! We will definitely return it’s the best place we have been to in Cambodia so far!!!

I came across a story on 4 Rivers Floating lodge on a travel magazine. As soon as I saw the picture of the floating bungalows, I wanted to be there. 4 Rivers floating lodge was the reason that made me decide to visit Cambodia.
I stayed 3 nights at a floating bungalow, next to the river. The bungalow was very much like the safari tent with a spacious ensuite bathroom. I liked the standing bath tube most. The bungalow was extremely clean with 2 standing fans and a ceiling fan.
The lodge arranged the transfers for me. Everything worked smoothly. From the parking, I got transferred by boat to the lodge. The boat went down the peaceful river with gorgeous scenery. I loved so much the tranquility of the environment.
The lodge setting looked so much like an oceanfront resort but very quiet and peaceful with just a few bungalows. The food was good and the ambiance perfect for rest and relaxation.
What I liked most was the ability to jump into the river for a cool swim. The river water was salty the time I was there during the dry season. I swam multiple times a day to cool off or just for fun.
I went on 2 excursions: one private one for a village tour with kayaking in the mangrove and a group trekking excursion in the Ta Kiev mountain. I also saw fireflies on a short boat ride in the evening. All excursions were very well organized, including lunch. On the private excursion, there were 2 things that made me speechless: for lunch, the tour guide warmed up the egg rolls for me on the boat using a portable burner; on the village tour, the guide checked out the toilet before letting me go in to make sure the toilet was clean and presentable. The guide was new in the job but was so gentle and nice.
Ana, the owner and the entire staff were very friendly. I applauded Ana for such a great operation in the jungle of Cambodia.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights (including my birthday) in a floating tent at 4 Rivers Floating Lodge in mid-July. The location is very quiet as most boat traffic is on the other side of Koh Andet, and the occasional boats that do pass slow down to a crawl so there is minimal disruption to guests.
The floating tents look beautiful from the outside and are spacious, but they get very warm during the day as they have no AC, and the fans are insufficient to feel cool inside (the bathroom is particularly hot). The patio is a great place to moor a kayak or jump into the river (be careful if diving in, as the river height changes and is sometimes less than a metre deep), but it has very little shade other than a translucent umbrella, so it isn't a practical area to sit for a long time and lazily watch the river go by.
We found that the bed was quite uncomfortable -- there isn't enough of a headboard to be able to sit up, and the mattress is so firm that we both woke up with aching backs each morning, even after the staff added a mattress topper. While there is a safety deposit box, the tent door has no locking mechanism to keep other belongings safe. There is a small television that is hooked up to a DVD player, but there is no Bluetooth speaker.
We recommend that the staff roll up the flaps of the tent windows to allow more light and breeze in while guests are eating breakfast, as it is not an easy task to do alone. The breakfast is OK, and there is a reasonable variety in the menu, but the set dinners and cocktails are disappointing and overpriced. Guests should not expect to have reliable wifi service, as there was none at all one day, and there are no wifi extenders that relay the signal to the floating tents anyway.
Overall, we felt that 4 Rivers Floating Lodge was an OK place to splurge for 1 night, but could make a lot of improvements to justify its exorbitant rates. It is marketed as the premier eco resort in the region, but in fact our experience at a different eco resort nearby was much more comfortable and only a fraction of the price. Nevertheless, the service at 4 Rivers was excellent, and we want to commend Naran and Darong for being particularly outstanding in doing their best to accommodate the guests despite the resort's limitations.

Hi James, Darong and Naren are sending their warmest greetings. Great news first…we have special offers this month of August! As soon as we received your valuable feedback, we immediately purchased new bed frames and new mattresses, as guests’ comfort is of utmost importance to us. Indeed, where we are located, with no public electricity, internet connection is certainly UNRELIABLE, most especially in this rainy (stormy) season, with posts for fiber optics being knocked down by falling trees. But hey, you are in this beautiful, pristine location! Where the set up of the tent allows you to enjoy the amazing landscape given by mother nature! Aircon, yes, in this tropical climate, an a/c is a must. Although here at 4Rivers, we highly encourage our guests to explore the great outdoors! - kayaks, paddleboards, boat trips, trekking activities to see more and beyond the palm trees on the riverbanks… Our huge gratefulness goes out to our valued guests who have helped us earn this recognition of being a premier eco resort in this part of Cambodia. These Cardamom Rainforests deserve all the attention, and 4Rivers is committed to its sustainable practices and its main goal…which is to showcase and protect this beautiful nature! Thank you again James! - From our 4Rivers Family

A floating glamping site in the middle of a tiny island in the Tatai River, with a 30 min longboat ride to get there. This is one of our most memorable stays, like EVER. Think massive luxury tents literally floating on a peaceful river, surrounded by lush jungle and thriving wildlife, amazing decor and discerning attention to detail, the most beautiful wooden shower box, a private deck with loungers, chairs and steps to swim in the river, scrumptious food, numerous tours to discover the area, SUP's and kayaks to paddle towards a glorious sunset, the most charming and passionate team ever encountered, etc etc.

But for us, the best part? It's prestige with a purpose. It has a soul! You can feel it on a cellular level. They treat nature and the community with so much care and love. The majority of the staff comes from the island and its surroundings, they empower them to respectfully show them there are alternatives to littering, hunting, logging and selling off land. They support the local farms, encourage sustainable fishing, built a school, organise rubbish collection for their neighbours. They lead by example, every single day. Every staff member has a story, they all worked their way up and are happily part of the 4 River Floating Lodge family. Wow, just wow!

We stayed as a family if 4 for 2 nights in an island tent. The entire experience was outstanding. The accommodation was clean, huge and comfortable with some brilliant personal touches, hot flask left outside in the morning to make fresh coffee and candles lit for when you return from dinner. The food and menu choice is outstanding and the staff are so friendly and attentive. We kayaked around the island and visited the small waterfall and swam in the river. simply beautiful we wish we’d stayed longer. The short boat ride to the idyllic location is so peaceful and best way to soak up the beautiful surroundings.
Simply amazing stay in the rainforest- a must visit.

We stayed at 4 Rivers in March and I honestly can't say enough good things about the place! Perched on the bend of the Tatai river you will find this very special eco-friendly haven. I wasn't too sure what to expect when I booked, but it exceeded my expectations in every way. The customer service is amazing and we were so well looked after from beginning to end. We stayed in one of their on-land two bedroom tents and we were bowled over when we saw inside. Such luxury!! The rooms are extremely comfortable! Dining at 4 rivers is also a special experience, the food is delicious and the 4 course dinners we were served were something else! We went on two trips, one to the waterfall and one to the mangroves, both were excellent and we got to see a lot of the surrounding area from the boat. The location, tents, food are all amazing, but what really makes this place is the staff. They are exceptional!! We can't thank them enough for making our stay so very special.

I thought as a solo traveler that I might feel lonely in such a secluded place, but the staff was so kind and welcoming. They always made sure I was having a great time and invited me to play volleyball with them. The food was also great. The fruit salads, pineapple jam, and Pad Thai were some of my favorites. There's a staff member who leaves a thermos outside so you can make coffee or tea in the morning. You can pay for excursions to hiking trails and waterfalls nearby. Every excursion has a packed lunch included. The fact that the resort is carbon-neutral is also a big plus. The resort is in large part made of recycled materials and anything electric is powered by solar panels. They have a library area in the office where you can borrow books and DVDs. The peaceful tropical environment is not only beautiful, but also gives you a sense of solitude that creates a sense of relaxation.

We were very privileged to stay in this beautiful (to me a 5-star) floating tented Resort on the Tatai River.
Everything is amazing, from the time of your arrival (where you are warmly greeted by name) to your departure!
The manager Anna and her team are extremely friendly and their level of service is excellent! To top it off they also speak English, Filipino and Khmer very well! Everyone always has a smile on their faces and goes out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need.
The chef and kitchen staff are the Michelangelo's of cooking as their food is works of art!
Their culinary creations are scrumptious and tasty!
The tented rooms are huge and very beautiful and the bathrooms are out of this world supreme!
Apart from running this resort, they are also involved in wildlife conservation, river clean-up, upskilling and development of the locals and they have even built a school where the local children are taught a range of subjects including English language.
YOU have to visit them when you visit Koh Kong!
I will gladly return here if every given the opportunity to!
Many thanks guys, you rock!

My friend and I visited Canvas and Orchid in early July. It was wet season so off peak and there were only 1 or 2 other tents occupied by guests. We stayed on a floating tent which was gorgeous and spacious and so was the bathroom. The place is so tranquil and peaceful. Waking up to a gorgeous mountain green view with the river right by our feet was amazing. Being there during the wet season meant the river water right by our tents was more muddy as it flows from the mountains and mud pushed down from the rain. Nonetheless you could still swim in it. But if you kayak (the resort provides Kayaks) to the nearby waterfall you will be able to wade or swim in crystal clear water. Although we were not encouraged to hike (due to the wet season) the staff took us on boat trips to see Fire Flies or bigger waterfalls and they took such great care of us. Just being on a boat out there in the mountains was enjoyable in itself. The Food was delicious! Comparable to a Michelin star restaurant. The staff were so helpful and friendly and made us feel at home. It was a fantastic experience from the booking process to the actual stay. Each and every individual we came across was a pleasure to meet. It is definitely high end Glamping if I can even call it that. Highly recommend for a get away, peaceful break and insight into another part of Cambodia.

Hello, it is very difficult to charge a card in Cambodia without having it in your hands. There is a solution for hotels called Tab but it cost 7%. Therefore the wire transfer to a local account via Transferwise of Revolut is a convenient solution.
remember, it is a eco lodge - no ac, but a huge fan.
the experience is unique - the tents are 5* (we are spoiled) - don‘t miss it if you have some days to go there. middle of nature.
Hi,
by the end of November we'll have 6 floating units and 5 family units, on land. You can check out the looks of the new lodge, we just posted a video on YouTube.
Please check availabilities on our website
Yes, however there are extra dishes that you may order at an additional price.
We flew from Siam Reap to sinhoukville and had a private transfer to the boat that then took us there. Quite laborious but we would t of missed going there
