The Layar is a fantastic vacation place to explore Bali. It is an oasis of quiet and peace in an otherwise bustling Seminyak city. The staff is attentive and super friendly. We stayed four weeks in Villa #15, a two-bedroom villa with a swimming pool and hang-out mezzanine. The villa is kept meticulous with all and more, of the amenities of home. We got a home cook to cook evening meals in the villa, and she taught us to cook authentic Balinese meals. The area has excellent restaurants, including the restaurant at the entrance of The Layar.
We were 3 couples staying for 3 nights in Villa 12. The villa is very comfortable, well appointed with a great pool. The breakfasts were fantastic, and our dinner at the restaurant was superb! Best of all was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, especially Tris ,Cherry and Veli.
I could not speak highly enough of these villas. The services provided were so perfect for my family and I and especially mentioning the server Laura who learnt our names on the first day and was always so attentive to us. Her service every morning made the experience far happier and easier for us.
I would like to gratefully thanks the Layar team for their exquisite service and unwavering support and cooperation. I thank all for the amazing assistant. Thank you all for making this holiday the greatest.
I spent 2 weeks at The Layar with my girlfriend and my son and everything looked amazing. Super clean, great design and prestine maintenance. Close to the main bars, shops and restaurant but very quite.
This is a late review, but better late than never. My husband and I stayed at the Layar in September 2019 for 6 nights. We were very pleased to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa from a 1 bedroom villa when we checked in, we ended up staying in Villa 11. The villa had beautiful gardens and a large pool and deck area. The living area is open with ceiling fans and the 2 bedrooms are airconditioned. This is very obvious from photos - not sure why people complain about this - if its an issue then book elsewhere. We found the space breezy enough for this not to be a problem and not be too hot. The nature of the gardens and Bali is that occasionally there were some insects and frogs around - this is not a problem. Overall the design of the villas is fantastic, and the gardens lovely but the villa was showing its age a bit. The main issues were maintenance things that need to be updated - the kitchen drawers and cupboards had a moist mouldy odour and some of the drawers etc couldn't be closed properly. We didn't use the TVs - they really should upgrade to smart TVs with Netflix access (not sure if this has been done now). The bedding/mattresses were a little old and had a few stained areas and were needing upgrading. The spa in the pool did not work - no bubbles for us. Breakfast was served daily in the villa but needs to be ordered by a certain time the previous day, ie if you don't order it you miss out. You also have the option of taking breakfast in their restaurant. Breakfast was reasonable, with varied options. Coffee provided was simply made using the plunger etc already in the villa. Espresso coffee would be great and is probably served in the restaurant but we ended up just having breakfast in the villa each day. We had one afternoon where the entire villa areas were smoked/sprayed? for insects/mosquitoes but had fair warning that this was happening and to stay inside the bedroom area. The location was reasonable, walking anywhere in Seminyak is a bit difficult on the roads and dodging motorbikes but relatively easy to walk down to shops, restaurants and the beach. There is apparently a buggy transport service around Seminyak but staff weren't particularly communicative about this. We didn't use this service. We had to pay extra for a late check out due to a late flight but this option was appreciated.…
We stayed in Villa 13, a 3 bedroom villa which exceeded all our expectations in terms of design, comfort and layout. Stunning design, beautiful pool, air conditioning in the bedrooms and ceiling fans in the main areas which was all we needed. The staff were incredible, all communication by whatsapp was responded to instantly and they bent over backwards to help us with anything at all. A very generous breakfast was included as well. The villas are right in the heart of Seminyak but so peaceful and quiet you could be anywhere. Absolutely brilliant, highly recommend.
I stayed 4 nights at 3 BR Villa (July 2022) . Rooms and bathrooms quite big with semi outdoor showers. AC too windy even already adjusted the fan level. Some section of the Wooden floor need maintenance, made noise when we walked. Pool is esthetic but too small for swimming and the depth is 1.6 to 2.2 mtr. Garden is nice and beautiful. Love the 2nd floor , big sofa and big TV. Living room is the best part, view pool and garden. Good Breakfast served at villa. Walking distance to some restaurants, mini market, laundry and massage.

In April we have experienced an unforgettable holiday with friends in Villa 15 of The Layar. Villa 15 is a very beautiful and almost overwhelming design villa that forms part of a luxury resort, right in the heart of Seminyak. Bali's best-known restaurants are within walking distance, as are boutiques, galleries, gourmet shops and a broad choice of other stores. If we didn't want to eat outdoors, we could still enjoy great food all day long, with a breakfast menu that was available from 7 to 11am. We even had the option to hire a private chef who advised a specially tailored menu for us to enjoy 'at home' in our villa. Petitenget Beach is just a stone's throw away, where we had a good time chatting with friendly locals. It is clear to us why this beach is famous for its surf breaks and sunset bars. Because we are golf enthusiasts, we indulged ourself here. After all, the most beautiful golf courses can be found in Bali. We loved the courses; it is like playing golf in a botanical garden, especially at Bali Handara. The disadvantage of that course however, is that it is not as near as the other courses. Every time we entered our villa, we were impressed by the beautiful architecture and interior, combined with its open concept roofs. The villa is landscaped with a beautiful private garden, a large swimming pool, a kitchen and it has two spacious bedroom suites. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with complete privacy and air conditioning. Our bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed very much the private garden shower that connects to the guest bedroom. The design, location and five-star service provided by the resort staff made sure we had a wonderful time. This villa offered all the luxury of privacy, personal space and experience away from the crowds we could expect. It was a safe and wonderful place for an unforgettable holiday for us.…
