I had the pleasure of staying at Mermaid Beach Resort in Cox’s Bazar, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish!
The location is perfect—just a short walk from the beautiful, serene beach of Cox’s Bazar, offering stunning sea views that make for an unforgettable setting. The resort is set amidst lush greenery, providing a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle.
The staff at the resort were incredibly warm and welcoming. From check-in to check-out, they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. The hospitality was truly exceptional, and I felt well taken care of throughout my visit.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable, and the amenities offered were top-notch. I particularly enjoyed the balcony, where I could sit and enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the shore.
The food at the resort was another highlight. The restaurant offered a wide variety of delicious local and international dishes, all of which were flavorful and fresh. The seafood, in particular, was outstanding, offering the freshest catch of the day.

This was the cleanest, well maintained resort we'd visited in Bangladesh. We have never been so well looked after by resort staff, from the day to day workers to the resident managers. The food was out of this world. Whilst we explored cox's bazar, we could have quite happily just stayed on the resort. My stay at Mermaid Beach Resort in Cox's Bazar was highly disappointing. The rooms were overpriced given the poor quality they offered. The bedsheets and pillows were so excessively washed that they had small, uncomfortable bumps. The mattresses were old and hard, making sleep difficult. Basic amenities were lacking; while a toothbrush was provided, toothpaste was not. When we requested toothpaste from housekeeping, it took over 30 minutes to arrive. Similarly, when we asked for scissors, there was a significant delay.
The reception staff were unwelcoming, answering calls with a simple “hello” rather than a courteous greeting. The resort's remote location, far from the city, made it inconvenient to access essential items. A small on-site shop would have been beneficial.
The swimming pool hours were impractical, starting at 12 PM instead of the morning, unlike other resorts. The beach was littered with plastic bottles and rubbish, including syringes, which was both disgusting and unhygienic, deterring us from enjoying the beach.
The hot water geyser in the room was non-functional, adding to the discomfort.
Overall, this property requires significant improvements in service quality, amenities, and maintenance to justify its pricing and provide a satisfactory guest experience.

I tried to book mermaid for a group of friends to stay. They do not have an online booking system and there was a miscommunication over the phone whereby I ended up booking and paying for the wrong dates. I immediately realised the issue and asked for a refund or for the dates to be changed. The staff were extremely rude and their inflexible policies meant they refused to provide a refund or date change. The customer service at mermaid is terrible. They have a completely inflexible booking system and are far too expensive for what they offer.

Here I’m posting to complain against Mermaid Beach Resort client service.
I wanted to book two days at mermaid beach resort and first i booked one day at their beach villa and one day at their 2 bedroom beach villa. then I asked to change to 2 bedroom beach villas for 2 nights. I thought that their 2 bedroom beach villa is the duplex villa where i stayed last time.
When i saw the duplex villa in the list, i asked again if it is available and see how they reacted!!! i understand that i changed my booking once (haven’t yet paid) and then wanted to change again. I have even told them that i misunderstood the type of villa. even after that they kept behaving so poorly with me.
i never had this type of behavior from Mermaid. never expected something like that from them! so upsetting, so disappointing!!

This is a good place to just get away from everything and relax your ass off. We went there on our honeymoon and enjoyed the stay almost. However, there was a bridge that connects the beach to the resort and the gate to the bridge is guarded and you need a written permission from the lobby to enter. We tried to access the bridge but the guy told us we are not allowed because the owner of the resort is partying with his friends inside. Even after showing him that we booked a room he did not allow us. That was a real pathetic way to treat your guests who paid a lot of money to enjoy their stay at a place like that. Wouldn’t go there again!!

We visited with my white Aussie husband and two kids 5,7 and my mum and 84 year old grand ma, along with a 17y old cousin bro. The private beach access is unprecedented - we could enjoy the most beautiful sunsets right from the front of our house, we could enjoy untouched beach with loads of red crabs, wildlife, birds, go for private swims anytime - it was amazing. On top there was top notch security outside our villa the whole time, great mosquito control, amazing organic food, they organised all transport and activities for us. Just a great experience, will come back!

The best thing about the place is its location. It is away from all the hassles and crowd of the main beach area of Cox's Bazar. Lots of spaces that provide adequate privacy and relaxation.
We stayed in a Beach Villa named “Boat Man’s Third Eye”. The first word that came in our mind after seeing the Villa is ‘OLD’. Although the villa was furnished with all the modern amenities and facilities, it was undoubtably struggling with age. The resort personnel were so busy with the new rooms and suits, they forgot to look after the old Villas that made this place so great. The villa itself was large with a large Bathroom. The toiletries provided by the resort were of substandard quality though.
Apart from that, everything else were spotless and close to perfection. The central area as well as the viewing deck were calm, yet lively. The foods were great. However, we would like to see more variations in the breakfast menu. We stayed for a couple of days and got the same breakfast menus for both days.
The experience is great. However, if the resort arranges more activities around the beach area, the guests may enjoy more. It gets too quiet during the early night and again including some night activities may help. With all the opportunities to improve, Mermaid Beach Resort is the only place where someone can enjoy the real beauty of Cox’s Bazar. A glimpse of the old beach can be seen here with the un disturbed pine forest and wild flowers on the beach.
Pros: Excellent Location, Calm and Quiet, Excellent Food, Excellent ambience. Cons: Older villas/Bungalows need renovation, Night starts really early, lack of attractions surrounding the resort area.
