Nestled in a picturesque island setting, Reethi Faru Resort garners praise for its exceptional cleanliness, featuring well-maintained grounds and spotless beaches, complemented by meticulous room upkeep. The resort's service is highly regarded for being caring and attentive, although during busy times, some guests have experienced slower service. Spacious villas adorned with lovely decorations have been well-received, alongside a range of amenities that include diverse dining options and recreational activities. While the overall value is appreciated, especially with the full board packages, a few visitors suggest watching out for additional costs.

When planning your journey you will have a choice betweena sea plane transfer and a domestic flight. Previously we have always selected sea plane transfers to islands that can’t be reached by boat. This time we thought we’d try a domestic flight. So much more waiting around and it added about five hours to the journey. We decided to do the return transfer by sea plane and it was well worth the additional cost. We would never do a domestic flight transfer again!
Check in at the resort was fast, friendly and efficient.
The resort is relatively new , about five years old, but it was built on an established island with lots of natural vegetation.
We have stayed on many Maldivian islands over the past twelve years and this one gets top marks for design! Not just the layout of the resort but the design of the room and garden.
We had a beach villa and it more than exceeded our expectations and needs. The garden leading to the beach was wider than previous resorts and had lots of shade as well as sun if you moved down towards the beach. We were in room 339 and the beach in front of the villa was wide and perfect. Toiletries were of a decent standard (shampoo, conditioner , shower gel and soap. There was a bath as well as an outdoor shower and a big fan which was brilliant for drying our diving equipment! The bed, bedding and pillows were all incredibly comfortable.

The room was cleaned to a very high standard by Shyam and the two foot showers for front and back ensured minimal sand in the room.

We were All Inclusive and ate all our meals in the Vakaru restaurant. There was plenty of variety for us and we were more than happy with the food. I particularly enjoyed drinking the sparkling white wine at mealtimes! Service was excellent and special thanks to Rasheed and Sateeth (not sure I’ve spelt that correctly) for their excellent service and lovely smiles!
There were five other restaurants that you could pay extra to eat at or pay the extra $40 per person per day to upgrade from All Inclusive to All Inclusive premium.
There is quite a lot of walking around the island and most days we walked a couple of miles a day going to and from the restaurant, bars and dive centre.

The marine biologist resident on the island did a wonderful job of monitoring the Green turtles nesting areas and the hatching of the baby turtles.

The dive centre is run by a Swiss owned company Sea Explorers. All very friendly and good at their jobs. I'll write a separate review for them! If you'd like to see what the diving was like then check out my YouTube channel Gerry Green Diving for the'Come Dive with me in the Raa Atoll, Maldives February 2023'

We would happily return, but by seaplane.,

We had the most incredible stay at Reethi Faru. If you are reading these reviews to help you decide where to go, let me help you. STAY HERE!!

From the moment we arrived the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.

We stayed in an overwater bungalow which was clean, comfortable and beautiful. Apart from the ocean view, we particularly liked the outdoor shower. Our deck was large enough to relax in the sun or shade, whatever you decided. The water isn’t deep enough here to jump in but you can certainly swim.

The entire island is very tropical and well looked after. We loved the sunset bar in the late afternoons and spending all our days swimming in the warm, blue water!

We couldn’t believe how secluded and quiet the resort felt even though we were told it was nearly full. You really do feel like you are in your own paradise, no crowds here.

The buffet food at the main restaurant was fantastic, many options, we ate way too much every time! We also ate at the overwater restaurant for lunch most days which was relaxing and we had a delicious meal at Reethi Grill one night too - I would definitely recommend eating here.

My partner proposed to me here and we were blown away with how the resort helped him organise it. Unbeknownst to me, he organised a proposal on the beach at sunset with a photographer and a massive heart drawn in the sand with flowers. We didn’t pay a cent for this - they organised this all themselves for us.

I will always hold a special place in my heart for Reethi Faru. We loved the friendly staff at reception, the sunset bar, room attendants, main bar and restaurant, I could go on!

The location is pristine, snorkelling you see lots of fish, we also saw a turtle, spotted eagle ray, moray eel and baby reef sharks.

We would not change a thing about our stay, I am in love with this resort and cannot wait to come back, thank you to everyone who works there for making it such a special and relaxing stay!

Such a lovely resort, we stayed in a beach villa which was located close to the main restaurant and one of the beach bars which provided us with most of our activity for our very relaxed holiday!

Right from when we landed in Malé we were greeted by a resort representative holding a hotel sign, placard who assisted us in getting checked in for the seaplane transfer to the island. The whole experience is simple and smooth, and what an incredible experience it was to travel this way to the resort! We hadn't expected to be going on the sea plane so one of our bags was a little too heavy for the flight, it was put on the next flight and promised to be on the next flight, which it was and was delivered to our room.

The resort is wonderfully relaxed, no expectation to dress up in the evening which was great, I only wore shoes three times in the 10 days we were there and this was to play tennis!

The resort and rooms are really nicely kept, clean and well maintained. It was clear that the hotel really prided themselves on this. Our room was immaculately presented by Jahid, who left us a wonderful decorative turn down service on the last night using flowers from the island :)

We decided to go on the all inclusive package which provided a great selection of drinks at all bars. We ate most of the time in the main restaurant Vakaru which provided a good selection of food all served to you at the buffet. There were two other restaurants on the island that we tried providing the more Al a carte dining experience, which provided good choice on their menus. "Credit" from the other restaurant could be used but there was a slight additional charge for this.

As with most holiday experiences, it was really enhanced by the people working at the resort. Everyone was really friendly and helpful but I wanted to call out a couple of the staff - Rekmal served wonderful cocktails in the beach bar and almost had your drink of choice ready for you as you approached the bar, Sijo and Satheesh would welcome us in to dinner and lunch each day and were always happy to stop by for a chat about your day.

I would certainly recommend Reethi Faru as your Maldives destination

Dear stugreg1989, We are pleased to know that your stay at our beautiful bio-luxury resort was pleasant and comfortable. We always strive for perfection when it comes to our guest’s needs and comfort and your appreciation is the perfect gift, we could have expected in return. We would like to thank you to take out time and review Reethi Faru in such a detailed manner. It pretty much sums up all that we are trying to do here. We hope that next time you are here, you try our offerings at the dive | water sports center and also at our award-winning spa. Along with the other dining and bar options including the over-water restaurant Dhiyavaru | Reeth Grill | Veggie and Vegan and the Sunset Bar, which is quite popular among our guests for the most magical sunsets. We have extensive Christmas and New Year activities happening across the island, starting today, and how we wish you could have stayed to indulge in them. However, we hope to see you soon again.

Although we knew our stay at Reethi Faru was going to be great, it exceeded our expectations in all areas. The staff was helpful and professional from the moment our seaplane landed. Everything was explained to us in detail without taking a lot of our time. Flying from the US is a haul to get there and we were tired and hungry when we landed. Luckily we were shown to our beautiful garden rooms (4 adults) right away where we were able to clean up and have dinner. Our garden room had every item you would need to make your vacation perfect. From a very comfortable bed, to soft towels and robes. Our room was cleaned twice a day quickly and efficiently. We celebrated Christmas and my husband's birthday during our stay. The Christmas Eve buffet was fit for a king with lobster tails and a dessert bar that left me with my mouth hanging open. The staff upon hearing my husband's birthday was the day after our Christmas left goodies in our room while we were at the beach. The staff at the restaurants are very friendly and helpful and we felt like we had made many friends by the time we left. The water activities and dive center staff were very helpful and friendly as well. We highly recommend the Dolphin and Manta Ray excursion. We saw at least a dozen giant Manta Rays who literally came within inches of us while snorkeling - they were mesmerizing! On the same excursion we saw at least 100 dolphins from our boat as well. They can't guarantee that you see anything since they are wild animals but mother nature was shining down on us that day - you just have to do it! The island has a very intimate feel to it. We never felt crowded but the other guests as there are plenty of beach loungers on the beach and at the pool. We also rented snorkeling equipment and snorkeled each day of our trip. The coral reefs are just feet from the beach and the diversity of the fish and other sea life was spectacular. There is plenty to do or not to do on this island and amazing resort. We all agreed it was the trip of a lifetime and our best vacation ever! Thanks to everyone at Reethi Faru for making it truly magical.

Dear lewalsh, Thank you for the heart-warming review. It is delighted to hear that you enjoyed Christmas with us and the lovely sea creatures! Our dive centre team is very attentive to the guests and make sure they enjoy the underwater world at the fullest. We have the house reef around the whole island and we have been putting effort in protecting the coral reef! We are expecting a thousand of new coral reef by the end of year! We look forward to the growth of healthier coral and we hope you will be revisiting us! Stay healthy and take care.

Words are not enough for this little piece of paradise.

The property is beautiful and so well maintained! Being pioneers of recycling and keeping the island green, yet super luxurious is a balance hard to find ANYWHERE in the world! and we really take our hats off to the management and owners for that.
even though it was running at near full capacity we never got a feeling of too many people.
The room was cleaned multiple times a day without asking , making sure there was never sand in it.
With the multiple restaurants, there is great choice and variety in food. Breakfast was delicious every damn day! the grill is exceptional! and they even have a vegetarian restaurant!
The diving team is fantastic, really taking care of the coral reefs while diving. there are also numerous water activities available at the sports centre. Every night there were different activities to keep the guest entertained.
Unlike other resorts we have been to in the world , they even had a marine biologist staying there. (she's also a yoga teacher- free yoga classes yay!) She has been regrowing coral on the island and you can plant corals and trees! a great initiative ! very informative and entertaining for all ages!
The spa took me back all the way to Bali. the decor, the balinese masseuses. and they always had availability which was perfect!
Since the moment we arrived to male everything went off smooth as butter. there was a person waiting to receive us and walk us to the domestic terminal , and hand us our boarding pass. We were on the flight in less than 20 minutes from landing male.
When we arrived they even gave us a free bottle of wine and upgraded us since it was my birthday! And on the way back the manager, who we must give a big shout out to! Mr Victor! made an end minute arrangement for us to go on the sea plane as opposed to the domestic we had arranged since the waiting time at male would be longer.
I can say he has single handedly does so much for us and every other guest in the hotel. He genuinely cares how you are and will do everything to make sure your stay is comfortable and more than what you expected. Our trip wouldn't be the same without him.

The hotel also took all corona virus measures possible to ensure guest safety. And we felt safer here than back in our city.

Thank you to the Reethi faru! we can totally understand why people keep coming back even though there are now many other hotels in the maldives.
but none like you!

Dear Alexandrostimotheou1, Even if I attempted, I wouldn’t have been able to describe this paradise island so beautifully. It’s the perfect essence of all that we aim to do here. So, I would personally like to thank you for being so generous with your words. We are thrilled to know that you had a great time, especially on your birthday! We are here so our guests, who believe in us for our services and hospitality, have a splendid time so they want to come back for more with their loved ones. I’m glad we could make that happen for you. Everyone at Reethi Faru reading this would be walking with a big smile – you made our day! I hope to see you back sooner than later for yet another memorable experience.

After a year of staying home, my holiday at Reethi Faru Resort was a dream come true. The service was great, the staff friendly and attentive and the water villa were heaven. We felt very at ease with the health and safety measure instituted for everyone's benefit.

The ability to walk around this eco-friendly resort without motor vehicles nor large crowds was the ultimate escape in itself, only to be topped by the beautiful white sand, surf and snorkeling.

Finally, the buffet was carefully prepared and served by the masked catering staff, which lead you to think - all buffets need to be served this way. There were also numerous ala carte restaurants and bars designed down to every detail for the experience of a lifetime.

I would offer to anyone traveling their first time to Maldives ... to skip Male and catch the Seaplane to the island as soon as possible!!!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom water villa and loved that privacy of this room . We stayed her for 5 nights and 6 days. The villa has two bedrooms, two ensuites and a guest bathroom . There is a coffee/ tea station with a Nespresso machine , fridge and water is supplied FREE everyday . We always had 5 bottles of water at any given time . If you need more, it is supplied , just notify the room attendants. The room was serviced twice a day and the attendants were always amazing and accommodating. We required extra towels on a few occasions and it was supplied quickly and efficiently. The attendants always cleaned the room with so much care and it was always up to standard. They would come at night to check up on us and were always available for a quick chat to let us know island information etc . They were pleasant and always so eager to help with anything.
The resort is a shoe free resort which means you can walk from your room to the restaurants and beach and not wear shoes. It was amazing so we literally wore our beach sandals everywhere or went without but no fancy shoes needed.
We were booked in with all inclusive meal package and we felt that it was adequate for us . We did not select the all inclusive dine around as we felt that it did not suit our needs as some of the meals were prepared with alcohol. We were allowed to drink at all the bars around the resort and pool all day . Special mentions go to the chefs at the main Restuarant : Shafik, Rajesh, who went out of their way to make us feel special and ensure that we had the best experience at the resort.

The snorkeling was amazing and my advice is to start as soon as the tide gets low. Carry your own equipment as it is always best. The dive center was very helpful with snorkeling tips and we loved snorkeling at all parts of the island . We hopped off our balcony and had the most beautiful experiences as a family . We saw exotic fish, coral that I could only dream off and sharks , even a friendly manta ray.

I would definitely come back…..

I spoke with the receptionist to arrange a surprise for my partner’s birthday. We agreed to have decoration and birthday cake, arranged in the room by 9pm. After dinner, at 9:30 we went back to the room and it was nothing in the room. NO decoration, NO birthday cake. I went to the reception again to speak with them. It took them half an hour to figure out why they didn’t decorate the room. They told me to take my partner out and they will arrange the room in 10min. I had to explain my partner why we have to go out of the room at 10pm in the evening, when we just came back after dinner. It took 1 more hour for the team to decorate the room. In order to make sure this time everything will be fine, I had to leave my partner alone in the bar and I went to the room to make sure everything is ready. So in the end at 11:30pm in the evening we had the surprise done. Literally they just ruined the whole evening… It was really bad experience. Also the waiter in the restaurant said to my partner during the dinner: “Ohh you have a birthday cake, I will bring it now”. How is that possible, he ruined the whole surprise. I told to the waiter that I ordered the cake for the room, not in the restaurant.

The staff in the restaurants were not professional and not friendly at all.

The staff in the swimming pool was really rude and a guy who worked there was shouting at us, that we moved the sun-bed 1m on the side, just because we wanted some shadow.

We had breakfast and dinner included in the room rate, however they changed us for the drinks (even for the water) in the main restaurant for dinner. Nobody informed us that we have included only the food, and that we have to pay for the drinks during dinner. Also they never gave us any bill to sign during dinner, so actually they could charge us for anything they want, and there is no way to check, what they charge us for. They just informed us that we have to pay $440 on check-out.

Also after checking out in the morning they arrange breakfast for us (some fruits and 2 croissant per person) in one of the restaurants, that was nice of them, as we were leaving early morning. We asked for coffee and some water, however the waiter said, that unfortunately there is no water and he can offer only orange juice. In 5min the other guests, who were also leaving, came for breakfast and they asked for water, guess what, surprisingly the waiter got some water for them. And just 5min early he didn’t have any water for us…. I would say this is a discrimination!

Generally the whole organisation was really bad for 5* hotel. The 5* service was just missing…

We spent a lovely two weeks at Reethi Faru in December 2021, two adults and two teens aged 13 and 15.

We stayed in a two bedroom garden villa which had two large bedrooms with a sitting room and dining area in between. Each had its own entrance and the interconnecting area could be locked so they can probably be used a completely separate rooms if required. The rooms were very spacious and the beds very comfortable. I liked the outdoor bathroom and didn’t mind the geckos and lizards at all - they stay well out of your way. There was a small terrace outside with loungers and a table. I sat here to read on a few occasions when it was raining but my husband was less keen after a gecko fell on him from above!

The food in the resort was excellent. We’d chosen the dine around all inclusive package and this was definitely the best choice for us. We ate at the buffet for breakfast most mornings but ate lunches mainly in the pool bar, and occasionally in Dhiyavaru or Reethi Grill (which serves pizza and salads at lunch time). For our evening meals we alternated between Dhiyavaru and Reethi Grill, with one visit to the Veggie and Vegan restaurant. The food in the Reethi Grill was outstanding and this was definitely our favourite restaurant. The naan breads were the best I’ve ever eaten and the curries were also delicious.

There was a good selection of wines available on the all inclusive package and I also particularly enjoyed the Faru Classic cocktail, which is basically a white Russian. During the day the chocolate milkshakes from the pool bar were fab.

We spent most of our days sitting by the pool as this is where the kids preferred to be but there was also an area of the beach with sun beds near the Nala bar, which was a two minute walk from our villa, which we could use.

The snorkelling on the house reef was excellent, we saw many different types of fish as well as rays and sharks and an octopus. My favourites were the turtles though. There are at least two hawksbill turtles on the reef which we saw on numerous occasions, and I never tired of watching them.

Our package included one daily use of either paddle boards, canoes or windsurfing. We used the paddle boards a few times which was fun. We also had one hour use of the glass bottom canoes and a sunset cruise included, would highly recommend the cruise it was excellent.

The service in all areas of the resort was first class but in particular Jani in the Reethi Grill, Nazeer in the pool bar/Haruge and Ruben from the sports centre really looked after us.

We definitely would recommend this resort to anyone, there were all different age groups here and a mixture of couples and families.

My partner and I stayed at Reethi Faru Resort for 12 glorious days and had a wonderful time. 7 days in a deluxe beach bungalow with jacuzzi followed by 5 days in a water villa. Both the beach and water villas were stunning, clean and well placed. We couldn’t have wished for more.

Our full board deal meant we ate at the Vakkaru restaurant for all our meals and we we quite happy with the high standard and variety of food offered. Drinks were extra and priced as expected for a 5 star resort.

The island is a good size and you can walk round in about 40 minutes. The beaches and water just amazing and it was around 29/30 degrees every day, mainly sunny with the occasional (and welcome cloud!).

Being able to snorkel easily to the edge of the reef was a big plus for us and we saw plenty of colourful and exotic fish. We also played badminton, table tennis and table football too! Please note, the water sports and snorkling equipment hire were at additional cost.

All the staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I hurt my ankle whilst I was there and the care I received from Dr Daniel and all the staff was exceptional. In particular I would like to thank, Sanjay, Nilam, Raunaq, Hsiyat, Soso and IqbaL.

It was the best holiday We have ever had and would strongly recommend this resort.

Lynne and Marcus.

Hi, we have always travelled to the Maldives during May/June/July (x7 islands). We always had fantastic weather. This particular island is far from Male. Make sure you take the sea plane. The commercial plane transfer is a very long transfer option. Feel free to ask anymore questions.

We have just come back, and would recommend All Inclusive as it includes all drinks in the bars and main restaurant, the food in the main restaurant is served Buffet style and the quality and selection is excellent.

Do you have plan to renovate the pool (missing tiles). And if yes, when?

There was a sign by the pool, with a detailed explanation of the ongoing issues re the tiles. From what I can remember it's not a quick fix, in a 'nutshell' the pool would have to drained and completely redone, as the materials used during construction were substandard. To be honest we never used it, as we had a water villa. But it was always popular, you just need to exercise that old fashioned thing known as 'common sense'. Enjoy your trip, it's a wonderful resort. PS - Do the technical tour with Steph
