Detailed Reviews
We were hunting in the mountains north of the hotel, near Nåvatn. Due to long hike out of the terrain we decided to call Eikerapen Gjestegard to see if we could get some food and a bed to sleep in for the night, instead of driving all the way home. We called just after the kitchen closed, but the owner arranged so we could have an excellent cold buffet upon arrival. Clean rooms, newly refurbished. The owner was a very friendly guy and made sure we had everything for a pleasant stay.

What a beautiful hotel with dreamlike scenery everywhere you look. There are so many places to walk and hike. They have horses to visit and sleigh rides
Most importantly, the hosts seems really happy that we arrived and were so gracious and warm. The meal was very nice, the rooms perfect and again, the views breathtaking.
My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer. what a treat to stay there.

We arrived Friday and discovered upon arrival that the hotel hosted two concerts that weekend. Our family room was spacious, clean and with a beautiful view!
However the noise from the concerts were unbearable, and drunk people in the hallways banging at our door made our stay horrible! One of my kids were so scared and couldn’t sleep for a really long time after the concert ended at 1 am!
We even asked for ear plugs at the reception, but they didn’t have any. We also asked to change our family room to a more quiet part of the hotel since the concert was super close. We even offered to change our family room to two double rooms, but no luck with that request.
The morning buffet Saturday can hardly be called a buffet - really poor choices!
However the buffet Sunday morning was ok.
❌ We’re disappointed that the hotel didn’t inform about the concerts in advance to our arrival.
❌ We’re disappointed that the hotel didn’t made an effort relocating us when the noise was unbearable.
❌ We’re dissatisfied with the poor breakfast buffet Saturday.
✔️ Had fun playing mini golf with the kids, free of charge.
✔️ Nice location, clean room and beautiful scenery.
✔️ Car park close to hotel.

Incredibly beautiful place with an exciting history. Very pleasant service. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was excellent, both dinner in the evening and breakfast. Beautiful Norwegian nature. Nice in the summer and perfect for skiing enthusiasts in the winter. Highly recommended😍

Outstanding food, great nature, good beds and service minded staff. I have been here now 4 times in 2 years for teaching my clients in my business. We were provided 2 big rooms with the equipment we needed. I recommend it.

18 persons from Agder Førerhundklubb (Agder Lead Dog Club) stayed from Friday - Sunday, end of August 2019. The unanimous conclusion was that Eikerapen Gjestegard was a perfect choice for our yearly overnight trip. We found both the place, the hotel, the staff and food very satisfying - and have already booked our next stay in 2020.

A very friendly and welcoming place in the middle of nowhere. Near forest amd a big lake. Wonderful view. Nice rooms, no television. A very nice restaurant with a set menu and a small but just right breakfast. Welcoming staff.
