We booked basic, and got basic, so no complaints there. Good location for village centre, beach and bars. However, we would have expected a more acceptable level of cleanliness. Clumps of hair under furniture and in the shower. Burnt on food on the hobs. Needed flip flops to walk around inside our room. Very disappointing in that respect.
Amazing family run hotel, make you feel like guests from the start, knew our names after a day and helpful, amazing gem of a find this hotel, rooms are nice and kitchenette is basic but we only had drinks in our room, food options at the bar and restaurants are very close and very reasonable so we ate out every day.the family are amazing and lovely.enjoyed our weeks stay and will be back very soon.it’s very well placed for everything restaurants/bar and the beach.people in the hotel were all lovely and made our holiday great as met lots of great couples and had amazing nights with them.
Lovely hotel and staff. Food was fantastic. Rooms very clean and tidy. Christina,Vangelis and George. Made us welcome and nothing was too much. The Saturday bbq was stunning. More than enough to eat. And the other hotel guests made you feel welcome and friendly. Will definately visit again. The pool and sun lounge area are kept to very high standard. Food and drink . Very reasonanle prices. Nothing more to say than 10 out of 10.
We came here on the 18th August and left on the 1st September. Fab two weeks at this family run hotel. How Christina remembered everybody's name was beyond me. Fantastic customer service. Lovely family and the BBQ nights are a must. Local buses to take you to other places. Kallithea is a lovely beach I recommend and not far away. The beach is not far from the hotel Pebbly and narrow but served the purpose. Love Greece. Thank you everybody.xx
I'm 6 days into my 10 day holiday and love it as a lady traveling alone I was a bit anxious but I needn't have worried it's a small and friendly complex and I have been very welcome especially by Christina who new my first name from day one without having to ask. The food is lovely and well priced. The BBQ last night was amazing and worth the money. If your a solo traveler you will be ok here. I've even had a meal out with other guests everyone is friendly. Thank you Christina and Family .
What a lovely small intimate hotel. A nice small piece of Greece. Christina, her husband and son ensured nothing was too much trouble. The BBQ on Saturday was fabulous. I would definitely go back ❤️ and would highly recommend the hotel
We had never been to Greece or stayed anywhere self catering. The hotel was lovely and we had a great room. The hotel is so friendly and this is down to Christina and her family who run it.. We were completely put at ease and were astounded to see that Christina knew our names from the start of the holiday. You can purchase food at the hotel and it is very reasonably priced and tastes delicious. We went to both of the BBQ evenings as the home made food was amazing and the atmosphere was astounding just like a small community. Got to mention George, the son of Christina. His cocktails were fab and again he would know what you wanted to drink before you even told him. It was such a welcoming hotel. We visited at the very end of July and beginning of August and we were shocked to find out that even at 1100am we could still get a bed around the pool. The beach is within walking distance as are some nice restaurants. We found that we would stay by the pool the majority of the time. As a couple that would normally not go back to a hotel we would undoubtedly return to this hotel again and again. Whilst we there there, even after 2 weeks, we wanted to stay another week. All we can say is Thank you Christina and family for a very enjoyable stay and we will be back.…
Hotel Ammos is small, only 24 rooms, but is special due to the family that run it. Christina is amazing and can't do enough for you - she quickly learns everyone's names and makes you feel at home. The rest of her family: Vangelis, George (barman) and Maria all work there and are so friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is small but perfectly adequate for the size of the hotel and we didn't struggle to get a sunbed. The rooms are basic and clean and the beds are comfortable enough. Don't expect to be able to cook meals or do self catering though because there aren't enough appliances/utensils. Just a kettle and a small hob. It would be a big improvement, if a toaster was provided. The snack bar is great and very reasonable, serving various breakfast options, as well as toasties, burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, chips etc. Drink are fairly cheap too. Location is good too with just a short walk to various supermarkets, 2 good bakeries (Lemonis/Bread & Breakfast is very popular and bakes a huge variety of goods) and all the shops/eateries. We really enjoyed Ammos and Christina and family but was less impressed with Polichrono - it's not great, beach is horrible and the restaurants are average at best. Better to venture a little further to either Kalithea or Pefkohori…
We have just come back from a two week stay at Ammos and had a brilliant time. As a family we love Greece and staying in a family run hotel and this one was special. Christina and her family make you feel so welcome and make you feel one of the family. Her son George runs the bar in the evening and makes a mean cocktail, the bar snacks are really good and the Saturday night BBQ is a must. At the barbecue everyone in the hotel socialises and has a great time. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a lovely and immaculate little hotel and we enjoyed our stay immensely! The owners are delightful - so friendly and hospitable and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable and the pool, although small, is perfect for staying cool, doing a little swimming and having a play with the inflatables provided. There is a lovely indoors/outdoors lounge and bar where tasty and good value breakfasts, lunches, snacks and drinks can be bought and enjoyed. The place has the feel of a villa and guests are companiable. The showers are very powerful but small so keep you knees and elbows tucked in! Beds are comfy and air con is available for a small daily fee. The cooking facilities are limited to a two ring hob and a kettle so don't plan on too much cooking! Rooms are cleaned every day. Polychrono is small and pretty and the hotel is located near the main coast road so is very accessible for buses to other villages and for tour buses. It's about a 5-10 min walk into the centre of the village and the beach and its a gentle uphill walk back. The beach is very long and narrow and busy in the main central area where it is full of loungers under umbrellas provided by the various seafront restaurants and bars. We preferred to head up to the right hand end where it is emptier and a bit more relaxed. There are lots of places to eat and we had some very delicious and good value meals out (we especially enjoyed Restaurant George!). There aren't many British tourists in Polychrono but English is widely spoken and we didn't have any problems with being unfamiliar with Greek. It''s popular with families with younger and older children so there was a lively vibe but no clubs or noisy bars or overly loud music. The sea is amazing for swimming - shallow, warm, calm and turquoise. There is a cool go-carting place just along the main road and our teenage sons had a blast there one evening. We really enjoyed trips up the coast to Afitos and down the coast to Pefkachori. You have lovely views across to Sithonia and Mt Athos beyond and to the forested hills behind inland. We had a wonderful trip and Hotel Ammos was the perfect place for us!…
