A welcoming, well appointed village hotel. Very pleasant location with excellent restaurant 3 minutes walk away. Good parking. The hotel is a converted mill. The rooms are comfortable and perfect for short to medium length visits. The hosts are attentive and hospitable. Francois speaks excellent English. I would have no hesitation in booking again.
If you are exploring the region, forget about staying in Chimay. Just come here to Lompret. Our little tour de Wallonie started here and after four hotels in different parts of Wallonia, I have to say this is still our favorite. The hostess is helpful and warm. Our room wasn't that big, but it is well appointed, and the bed extremely comfortable. The quantity of the breakfast is a bit small, but this doesn't bother us much. It's just very pleasant to stay here, and walk to L'Eau Blanche, the restaurant across the river of the same name, for a wonderful meal and/or a few beers. We'll come back for sure!
Our room on the top floor was large and comfortable, the bed was fine, and the bathroom was the best we have found in Europe. WiFi was weak in our room but certainly functional. The breakfast was typical of B and B breakfasts, tasty and filling. The hotel is a fascinating creation with a very modern interior inside a very old building, Some of the unchanged, crumbling old walls of the ancient building are visible on the other side of the parking area. Walking along the path by the church and the small pasture and across the stream to the restaurant, as the sun was setting, was the best way to end a tough day of travel. The village is really small but truly relaxing and beautiful. I expect spending a couple days here could be very romantic. And you get a lot for a very reasonable price. We had a difficult time finding Lompret and then finding the hotel. Get directions from the owners. Do not depend upon Google or the maps of "Les Plus Belle Villages de Wallonie". When you find Lompret, trust the street numbers and you will find the hotel. There are a couple signs for the hotel when you get within a couple kilometers, but the only sign at the hotel is on the building and, to see it, you need to turn into the hotel parking area.…
This small hotel is one of the nicest places we have stayed in the world. Very upscale remodeling of part of an old Chateau. Small, beautiful, quiet. We have stayed here on several of our trips to Belgium. Close to Chimay. /the DeCuir family of Avoyelles, Louisiana
