The room was amazing, with only 3 walls, I wondered what that would be like in the evening, but it was fine when the floor to ceiling blinds was put down. I loved the amenities, they provided guests with bug spray, which was a nice added feature. The food was probably the best thing, each breakfast, lunch, and dinner was amazing. I've never stayed at a place where I didn't get bored with the food menu because sometimes it feels like I'm eating the same food over and over. This resort does a great job of making sure that doesn't happen. There's a bar downstairs with pool lounge chairs with a view of the beach and ocean, it was great to hang out there, get a drink during the day. Overall, I would come back. It was tucked away on a separate coast from the main port, so it's only accessible by boat. It made it feel like you were on your own little island. What else could you want with a beachfront view, amazing food, amazing facilities with great service?

Xinalani is absolute magic!✨ The owners have created such beautiful spaces for people to find joy, wellness, happiness and peace. It’s a brilliant place. I hope these people know how happy and well their vision/creation makes people!! So many people there were repeat customers- not surprisingly!! If you’re looking for paradise, you’ll find it at Xinalani. It’s a wonderful, luxurious eco-chic place - unique from all other places in the Bay. Go there for fun or go there for a reset. I’ve been with girlfriends and alone and both experiences were ah-mazing! I can’t wait to go back!! After your time there you will feel relaxed, inspired and renewed. The food is deeeelicious!!! Delicious and healthy!!The staff —amazing!!! They are warm, happy, friendly, bilingual, helpful and accommodating. They are so happy!Oh, and the rooms are gorgeous and the beds are soooo cozy and comfortable!!! I stayed in a Casita and everything about it was spectacular!! The gigantic, cozy bed with ocean view, the hammock with ocean view, THE HOT TUB with ocean view (!!!), the gorgeous shower with ocean view — the porch with ocean view .... ocean view everywhere!!! The beauty of this place is arresting!! I saw a dolphin jumping in the water when I woke up!! There are so many fun things to do, places to explore and gorgeous places to relax. The yoga was great and the yoga and meditation spaces - breath-taking. I can’t say enough good things about this place!! You must experience it— it will not disappoint. Thank you to the people who created Xinalani!! You have created a magical place on many levels!

Booking- We booked our trip through a deal on Jetsetter for nearly half off the usual price of rooms. The resort staff was very timely and polite in our email exchanges before arrival. Getting there- We opted to have the resort arrange our transportation from the airport (highly recommend). It is $100 for round trip. They arrange for your taxi to the docks (FYI you will need to tip the taxi driver) where you wait at an open air cafe. The Xinalai staff will pick you up there and take you by personal boat (it was literally just my friend and I with the 2 staff). The boat is super small and I have a tendency to get seasick but the water is really calm and I actually really enjoyed the ride (~40 min). One of the other people at the resort said there were Dolphins that swam alongside her boat when she came! Location- The resort is actually built into the side of a mountain and essentially within the jungle itself. The setting is really stunning because of how remote it is, it really looks like a little bit of paradise. The resort is located in an area that cars cannot get to, we saw men on horseback come through every afternoon which we presumed brought in supplies. I think the website said the resort can house no more than 50 people but at the time we were there there were only 10-15 people staying there so you really felt like you had your own private beach. The sand in some areas is a bit coarse but the waves are lovely and there are a lot of Pelicans and sea birds that are really fun to play with. They also have snorkling, boogie boards and kayak gear for free. We aren't great swimmers and the tide was a bit strong so we didn't go but saw other people go out. Getting around the resort- I read a lot of reviews commenting about having to climb steps it is no joke- getting from be dining room to the yoga studio is literally 10 minutes of stairs up the mountain. Rooms- We stayed in a petit suite. Would highly recommend getting a suite rather than the deluxe room because you have much more privacy. The deluxe rooms side by side (share a wall) and since all the rooms are open air there is a lot more noise. Also the suites are on higher ground which helped a lot when it rained (our room didn't get too wet compared to those in deluxe rooms and when all the crabs come out after the rain they were getting into the deluxe rooms). The room itself was surprisingly rustic. The shower was ok and sink was nice but the shelving and beds were pretty utilitarian. The sheets were also not very good quality and made us feel scratchy at night. There are mosquito nets for each bed which we definitely used but it did exacerbate the heat. There is fan in each room and if you can get it to reach to your bed and get it under the net that is ideal. I am very bug-a-phobic but there were actually a lot less bugs here than I thought would be in a jungle. The first few days we used bug spray regularly and didn't get any bug bites. However we ran out, but I still only had a minimal number of bites (I usually get tons when I go to tropical places). The web site says they sell bug spray but they actually don't and you are so secluded you can't get to a store so make sure you bring plenty. Staff- I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. They are all extremely polite and friendly. Everyone was happy to help us in trying to accommodate any requests. Yoga- There are 2 yoga classes per day (8:30am and 4pm). We had ours in the large studio located at the highest point of the resort. The view there is stunning and the studio itself is pretty posh with high quality wood floors. They also have really nice thick Gaim yoga mats so it is really not necessary to bring your own yoga mat internationally unless you are super attached to yours. Our teacher most days was Nora who did vinyasa in the morning and restorative in the afternoon. She was really terrific and we loved her (although I believe she is moving back to the U.S. In July).

Xinalani is a eco-friendly and beautifully picturesque retreat nestled in the mountains SouthWest of Puerto Vallarta, MEX. Very remote, requiring at least a boat ride or horse ride from PVR. Yoga was twice a day, usually at 8am and 5pm. Yoga sessions were great. Food was delicious and overall healthy/wholesome. Daily activities in between yoga included kayaking, snorkelling, surfing, massages and trekking in the nearby jungle. Stay was extremely courteous. Overall, the best part was the ambience: the retreat embodied a milieu of mindfulness, patience and relaxation

The place is absolutely magnificent. The service staff are the kindest bunch you’ll meet in a long while. The infrastructure is flawless and well thought. It all creates a magical setting for a perfect experience, then there is the new Chef—Laureano. The meals at this place are served at set hours for all guests and the start of each hour-long meal window is announced loudly. The format is buffet at the communal dining space. The quality and variety of a vegetable-centered menu is actually really good. The only problem is the amount of food produced and the reluctance of Chef Laureano to churn out more food when it runs out. After not being able to eat enough on my first two meals, due to my choice to come down to the dining room a half hour into the meal window, I decided to ask the staff for replenishments of two of the seven items served, most of which had ran out by now. After two servers went into the kitchen with my request, Chef Laureano finally came out himself to tell me personally that said items had ran out and that I should come down earlier in order to be able to find all of the offered dishes. Given that meals are included in every guest’s rate, I find his approach unpleasant and distasteful, since all I was asking for was to be able to eat an appropriate amount of food. I sincerely hope the newly appointed Chef will realize soon enough the value of guest satisfaction and that rationing food is not the way to go in an ultra-luxe property who caters to international tourism. My advise is that until then, treat the culinary hospitality aspect at this place as if you were in the Hunger Games, and beat everyone else to the table.
