Amazing trip with exceptional service, food and accommodations. I went here for a solo yoga retreat (joined a group). The beach casita was great with hammock in room and outdoor hot tub and seating area. I spent most of my time on the beach or in the pool. Only accessible by boat (45m ride or so to PV) so once you arrive, plan to stay. Enjoyed the food options-especially for breakfast. Walked into nearby town along trail up mountain which was fun. Swam with dolphins in wild which was a cool experience. It’s definitely off the grid and nice way to disconnect. Massage at spa was great-super relaxing. Travel tip: pack strong bug spray. Not all rooms have A/C so be sure to check if that’s important to you.

Room Tip: Beach casitas are great. There are a ton of stairs so be prepared. Flip flops won’t be great...

we spent 4 nights in a deluxe room- we were pleasantly surprised by the resort and staff. The photos do not do it justice, we loved yoga with Jerry and sitting by the bar. The food was awesome and service, lovely. While there we did the sweat lodge, went snorkeling, and had massages

My partner and I spent 7 days at Xinalani in Mid May. I normally love to travel through cities and towns in Mexico but was craving and needing a vacation that was going to truly give me rest to recover from the toll that COVID has taken on my work in healthcare. From the time we got on the boat to head from Puerto Vallarta to Xinalani it was clear we were in good hands. Sebastian and Rayamundo made our bar experience great and Fabian, the best bartender ever had a way of knowing exactly what I needed. Faviola and Berenice at the front desk - I will be back. Berenice expect that email soon. :) Kimi is the heart of the adventures- he makes every person feel incredibly special and connected and we learned a great deal about the local plants and people and shared many laughs with him. Our yoga instructors were top notch, I did not head to Xinalani to do yoga, I am not a person who does yoga at home and has incredible talent in this area and was surprised to find how much I loved the classes here- very grounding and the open air studios make a person not be able to help but be in touch with nature. Luis, Jose, Oscar always there to greet us in the dining area with a smile and what a treat to not have to cook, clean up or do dishes and know that we were cared for in this way. MaJesus and Rosalinda made the best foods. Our room was an eco suite and the view, incredible. We are definitely going to head back in the winter to see the whales, and will continue to return to Xinalani to recenter and recharge a few times per year. Many thanks to Xinalani staff! Besos!!

Mixed reviews about this place. Think it has a ton of potential if only the activities/logistics were much much better organized. Pros The yoga itself and the way the morning classes are organized is great. In my week I tried a whole variety of different types and the instructors are really good. Jerry is a phenomenal teacher. The food also was incredible. They menu is varied even if they have no pork/steak available. The rooms and location is enviable, really relaxing. Cons Unless you come with a group, all the activities are incredibly disorganized. I had 5 suf lessons included in my package and it was just painful to get them. The first day they had no instructor, the second day the instructor showed up randomly and apologized he was late (had not agreed on a time), third day another instructor showed up, fourth day instructor showed up late (had to ask reception to chase him), fifth day finally on time....and sixth day late again by an hour (another journey to the reception....where I actually was told that I had requested the last class to be cancelled?!). Real shame because Daniel is a great surf instructor! I also had a jungle trek as part of my package and that was never organized even if I kept an eye daily on the activities. To get to Xinalani you need to land by 5pm to catch a boat to the place. Unfortunately I had a 4 hours delay....which is obviously outside of the hotel's fault. However, I emailed multiple times asking for hotels where to stay in Puerto Vallarta (I was told I would get the list in case of any delays) and called the front desk as well. I only got an answer 7 hours after my original e-mail, which is less than ideal when you go to a new place, in a country where you don't necessarily speak the language. You are pretty much left on your own. When I complained further, they just told me their reservation team doesn't work on Sunday, so it was up to me to sort it out. Also, they gave me the wrong time for the boat, so spent an hour waiting at the port for someone to take me to Xinalani the next day. They told me the boat had a 'technical fault' but I talked to a couple that that was in my boat and they had been given the correct time.....so bit of a lie! My return boat the day before my flight and thankfully I talked to reception the next day a couple of hours before I was due to travel, because they had clearly forgotten to book it.

This place was fantastic. We basically spent the whole trip outside without "roughing it". We could hear the ocean (caution: loudly) from our room (earplugs are provided for sensitive sleepers), saw wildlife everywhere we looked, and were literally in the jungle. A guide and naturalist, Kimi, made our time in nature even more immersive by teaching us about the plants, animals, and ecosystems that surrounded us. He even took me and a fellow birding friend on a pilot birding tour that he hopes to run in the future, and I genuinely hope the resort chooses to do so. It was so much easier to make sense of all that I was seeing and find out where the best spots to see birds were.

I stayed here as part of a group retreat. Besides the expected quality of location, eco vibe and amenities, there were 3 things that stood out most to make my vacation so great. The first was the friendliness of the staff. Fancy beach views, clean water and nice working toilets are great and expected at a place like this, but it the kindness and charisma of each and every staff member that blew me away. From the daily greetings (some even daily greets by name!) to their work ethic and humor, I felt a connection that rose above their natural servitude. Secondly, the FOOD. Wow. I cried at the last meal at the pleasure of being able to taste such beautiful, and healthy cuisine. The two women who make all of the food are seriously so incredibly talented. I do worry about food waste as a lover of the planet and I am not sure what is done with the food after the meals since it’s buffet style. I hope as an eco resort in a tiny community that something mindful is done here. Either way, I was blown away by the cuisine and recommend this place simply for that. Third, the excursions/activities that were recommended and able to be added on via the resort were top notch. Our group did the temezcal sweat hut, which was life changing, the shaman and assistants were amazing. It was an actual challenge though, so those who don’t like intense, challenging experiences beware. We did a zip line tour which was so much fun. And we also did 2 other hikes through the jungle/along the coast. Our guide Kimi was hands down, the best guide I’ve ever had for any tour or excursion ever. So much knowledge about the area, bugs/animals, the land, the ecosystem, the community, and the way of life. A genuine care for us as people, not simply just a wise guide. And at the bare minimum, a care for our safety, letting us know the risks/dangers to keep us as safe as possible while pushing us outside of our comfort zone, learning while we explore, making for the best time ever. The colomitos and waterfall tours are two tours I will never ever forget. The waterfall tour day I can easily say was one of the best days of my life. So absolutely special. I have Kimi to thank wholeheartedly. There are too many names/people to list that made this experience as beautiful as it was. But I am forever grateful for them all. The amenities were great, but the people truly made this experience one of a kind. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful place and highly recommend Xinalani as a place to explore cuisine, relaxation, learning, adventure and life, through its beautiful people.

I had the pleasure of spending a week long wellness retreat hosted by my friend / Yoga instructor Chelsea and this place is absolutely beautiful. Special shout out to the ladies in charge of the cuisine and a double shout out to the activity guide, Kimi! He was hands down the highlight of our stay there. His energy was so great and I can’t say enough about this man’s knowledge of his ecosystem. I would literally visit again just to book excursions with him. Truly out of this world service and hospitality. The entire staff deserves the utmost praise.

I came to Xinalani in March of 2022 and it was nothing short of magical. Practicing yoga and healthy eats daily left me feeling wonderful. The staff truly made the experience. Kimi was the best tour guide I've ever had. He took us on a waterfall hike and shared so much powerful information about the flora and fauna of the area. He also took us to the Yelapas where we snorkeled on the way and danced on the beach once we arrived. I couldn't think of a more fun and welcoming person to head a tour. Make sure you get a tour with Kimi! Jerry was also a fantastic aerial yoga teacher and ice bath guide. His sweet and gentle spirit was just what we needed to get through our classes with a smile. David the massage therapist has hands that are made of magic - get a deep tissue massage with him. Lastly, all of the servers in the kitchen were very sweet, particularly Oscar. He remembered my name even though I never sat at the same seat. This place is epic! All the stairs ensure you go home with a tighter booty too :)

We had a group of 8 girlfriends who stayed in the 8 room palapa. All 8 of us felt our retreat at Xinalani was the best and would definitely go back. We were pleased with the quality of the food, the yoga, the generous hospitality and service. The resort itself has its own private beach and pool, away from the tourists from the nearly PV. The neighboring towns are still old world where the people live minimally so you get the feel of what it is like to live simply, but at the same time the locals are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Here are reviews from the rest of our group! Julie C The staff at Xinalani is amazing. Everyone was kind, helpful, and positive. Everyone was willing to go the extra mile for our group. It was a very comfortable and relaxing experience. The food was amazing. The accommodations were wonderful. We enjoyed our excursions. We especially loved our guide Jose, a.k.a. Kimmy. He shared so many wonderful facts about the area including the marine life and animals that live in Quimixto. The Front office staff was always professional when helping us work out any situations or questions that we had. The wait staff was always at hand during our delicious meals. Our bartenders made us feel welcome and comfortable in the beautiful outdoor bar. We did not want for anything Xinalani. Kelly B So many warm wonderful memories to hold onto after a week in Xinalani. This was my first return trip and it did not disappoint. I look forward to many more! It almost felt like a fantasy after living the past 2 years of The Covid lifestyle. Clare L Every bit of the Xinalani experience was wonderful and memorable. The staff was so kind and professional - we could really feel their pride and sense of community. I only wished their name tags had a larger white font so I could read them better to remember their names as well as they remembered ours. The food was so delicious and healthy that we looked forward to every meal. The accommodations were so comfortable and it was so peaceful hearing the waves at night. The location itself is so tranquil and perfect to do yoga, lounge by the pool or walk on the beach. I’ll be back for sure! Chris L Xinalani was an amazing experience. I would highly recommend it. The place is darling. The whole staff were wonderful, lots of yoga and other activities and a peaceful, safe, comfortable, environment with amazing views. The food was delicious. I ate a lot more than usual and still lost weight as it was nutritious, flavorful food. Shout out to the amazing chef, Manuel Salazar. Would go back in a heartbeat. Mary B.
