We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 day stay in September at Le Moulinage. Perfect setting to relax and unwind and well located for exploring the delights of the Ardeche. The accommodation is of the standard of a boutique hotel and our hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to see to our every need. Our suite was large and beautifully appointed. A spacious bathroom and sitting area meant that we could not have been more comfortable. The possibility of having breakfast on the terrace - delicious home-made jams and preserves - was the jewel in the crown. Don't hesitate to book this chambre d'hotes - you will not be disappointed! We had dinner just along the road in a charming bistro called La Table de Barres located in a beautiful medieval village called Saint Vincent de Barres....charming owners and divine food at a very reasonable cost. All you need is a good appetite! More

The area of the Ardeche, principally the Gorges of the Ardeche are a most stunning part of Southern France. The geology is staggering and in the summer you can shoot the rapids/ go white water rafting. We visited in December on a beautiful sunny day when no other tourists were around, on our way back from Nice to the UK and stayed in a wonderful little gite/chambre d'hote based round an old mill on the same site as a farm. It was called Le Moulinage in the villaage of St Lager Bressac near Montelimar. A great location
The chambre d'hote system in France is like home from home and this one was unbelievably friendly and comfortable. We stayed in the Suite Jasmin which was decorated charmingly. An evening meal is not always available, but we were lucky and Madame cooked us a delicious meal which included an aperitif and local wine. As an alternative to the chambre d'hote there are gites as well.
