I go to Gambia frequently and like to have a hotel on first night to ensure I have a meal and am properly hydrated. I love this place - I have never needed to book. It is an African Hotel to the extent that the rooms are spartan but the hotel service is good and the pool bar serves the coldest beer in Gambia. The restaurant is only ok. Customer service is poor - and there is 'no change' . The food is quite good and the Afra is nice. Some of the restaurant staff have ben there too long. Breakfast is good and at 300GMD well priced. There is a cohort of long stay guests which is nice to see. Well placed for the beach.
hotel was very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. it is a lively hotel with a lot of music on the weekends. pool is clean and not too warm thankfully. bar is adequate, menu is nice, but on the expensive side for a 2 star hotel. prices have gone up considerably after the pandemic. one should not exaggerate. Furthermore, you have to take into account that people have almost no change, so you automatically pay a tip. you can rent your own fridge and fill it with drinks. in addition to the hotel, there are also excuses possible. you can also rent a safe. there are tourist taxis available at the exit. Please note that the road is under construction at the moment
The most accommodative place, if there is anything wrong they're quick to fix it. Lovely staff, we go several times a year and its always like going home! Can't wait to head back. Friendly, welcoming place.
My air bnb driver did not show to pick us up from the airport. So I was greatful to be able at last minute to walk in at 1130 pm to book a room There is a resturant onsite and they serve ok food. Fried rice was delicious. Wifi- was poor because there was no service in my room. I had to keep going to the pool area. Rooms. Outdated as is the front reception, the pool creates a false illusion. Owner needs to invest in renovations. As there is power talking to be better. Payment : In trying to sort out usd to dalsi etc and not agreeable on the change I was to recieve back. They Manager gave me back 100 USD along with my change for payment by accident. But the time I realized I had this extra 100 I had already arrived at my intial accommodation, air bnb. And was going to travel back to return the funds then following day. This was where it for really weird. The Manager and a taxi driver were waiting outside of my air bnb to collect. It was so inappropriate and I felt unsafe and would never stay at this little place again. Also the night staff mistakened my conversation about politics within Africa, as an invitation to come to my room?…
We spend a week in hotel Baobob. The rooms need desperate renovations. Dressers drawers has broken handles, shower has no curtain so alsways a indoor swimming pool. Bed sheets are so often washed that they have holes. No chair in the room. Breakfast is ok except the coffee. NEscafe. Why? There is a coffee machine and then you have to drink for breakfast instant Coffee? Why?
My son and I went for dinner here January 2018. I had been before 2 years ago. Sadly the meal wasn't great. Quite expensive for what it was. My son had a margarita pizza which was nice,I ordered chicken Benechin which arrived full of hard peas!!! Benechin doesn't have peas in it...as a local Gambian dish the Gambians wouldn't have freezers to keep frozen peas in!!! My guess was they were trying to bulk out the meal. The chicken was awful and very chewy....I didn't eat it. Staff weren't interested in the fact I hadn't eaten or enjoyed it. Unless you're staying there or go regularly I don't think they give you a second glance. Wouldn't go back.m
Lovely simple hotel friendly and helpful staff. Visited a friend staying there so got to see one of the rooms, basic but clean.they have a restaurant at the front with live entertainment .hotel is on the main road and has easy access to the beach and others hotels in the area
1st impressions nice grounds, away from the 'tourist strip' can walk to from the Senegambia beach hotel about 20mins.. Good selection for vegetarians I ordered Veg Damoda and chips.. Good price. Service pleasant and quick.. Lots of locals and a few tourists..
During the Easter Holiday, I stayed at the Baobab Holiday Resort in Gambia for eight days. I recommend it to everyone! The Resort is very colorful and nice. I had a double room (room number 203) and the rooms were big and also the bed was big and soft. The bathroom was quite small and there was no hot water but that was not a big problem because at the end it is still Africa. There was one small outdoor swimming pool and one baby swimming pool. In my opinion, the swimming pool was too small to swim laps. Near the swimming pool was a bar but they did not always have what there was on the menu, for example: the cocktails but the staff was at all times very kind and always helpful. The location of the Resort was perfect, the beach and the sea are on a walking distance. Each morning there was fresh breakfast with a chef who cooks eggs as you want it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.…
I loved staying here. The room is clean and has all you need. Nothing more then that but you don't need it. Shower is good and hot. Swimmingpool is being cleaned every day and is great to use. Always a spot in the sun to find....or shade as you want. Staff is really friendly. I loved the pancakes on the morning!
