We stayed at Casa Carla for 2 weeks in april/may 2016. Walking distance from the atlantic ocean beach. Clean rooms with romantic interior design and toilets daily cleaned. With a own pool in the main yard surrounded by tropical plants and sunbeds made from wood, our kids enjoyed cool baths especially at midday when it is usually hot. Juno the...

Arrived at Casacarla after the local taxi drivers said they knew the place, even though they clearly didn't! Was greeted with a warm welcome by Jan and he was extremely friendly. Showed me to my room and then bought me a drink. I paid my weekly bill, this was slightly higher than the price quoted upon the site, but local...

This year saw 5 of us visit the Gambia for a weeks serious fishing. I explored the web and asked our guide for suitable accommodation and was recommended Casa Carla. Having emailed Jan and received a courteous and prompt reply, we were off to a good start. We booked 5 rooms and due to us only at arriving at 1.30am,...

The hosts weren't friendly, they were almost family. The drinks were cold, the food delicious and the rooms clean and big. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Two thumbs up for Casa Carla.

It wasn't my first time in the Gambia, but it was my most enjoyable. From the optional airport pick-up-service to the fantastic food and spot-free rooms. They made sure I had nothing left to be desired from my four week stay there. Jan and Carla, the host, a Belgian couple who has lived there for over nine years now, gave...

You know that lovely warm feeling you get when someone does something really nice for you. That's how I felt when the owner of Casa Carla offered me the use of his spare mobile after mine had been been destroyed by a passenger on the flight over ramming his hand baggage into the overhead locker while the cabin crew looked...

Atmospheric is the politest description one might use to describe the very odd situation at this soulless guest house operated by a Belgian couple. The rooms are small by European standards, tiny and low ceilinged by African standards. the bathroom is not separated from the bedroom in any way so unless you have voyeuristic tendencies or a fascination for the...

A small family run establishment where Carla and Jan treat you as a member of their family and do their utmost to ensure you have an enjoyable and pleasant stay. A WINNING FORMULA Clean and tidy rooms with all facilities. Highly recommended for a safe and secure holiday base. We will be returning later this year.
