This place is just incredible. Easily seventh magnitude dark skies on my first night there, North America Nebula clearly visible with the naked eye - never seen this before from ANYWHERE. Nearby town of Confolens made for a lovely, quiet Saturday. 80 degrees, blue skies and sunshine in mid-October. And so quiet! Nearby Intermarche a great source of bread, cheese, pate, butter and wine for your own lunches. Sue provides a simple, French-style breakfast and a lovely, ample dinner, both consumed family-style with herself, Andrew and any other guests. Wine is already available for consumption. Dinner is usually casserole-style with potatoes, vegetables and bread, followed by a sweet dessert. Excellent quality.

Andrew and Sue were delightful hosts, making it one of the easiest holidays to book ever. From the moment we landed in France, everything was taken care of. The pick up from the airport and drive to the accommodation was beautiful and informative, as Andrew is a natural tour guide. The room was lovely, clean and spacious, with the added bonus of an en suite bathroom. The town of Confolens is absolutely beautiful, a delight to wander around, making the Astrofarm an ideal location for wandering around this part of the world. We were total beginners in terms of astrophotography and star gazing, so it was a real eye opener to see what a dark sky really has to offer!

We stayed here for 4 nights recently. Although we went as amateur astronomers this is also a lovely place to stay in the french countryside for non- astronomers too. Comfortable accommodation in rural France on an old farm which has been converted to a holiday site for astronomers. Andrew and Sue are hosts for which nothing is too much effort, and the home- cooked evening meals superb. The skies are dark and clear and Andrew us a patient teacher of what there is to see. Sadly the weather was uncharacteristically poor whilst we we there so we were only able to experience the skies for a few hours on one of our 4 nights there. There are telescopes galore and advice on Astro photography for anyone interested Lifts from Limoges airport are available. You are made to feel like one of the family, and the 3 German Shepherd dogs will welcome you as such. Fresh free range eggs for breakfast from their chickens and an abundance of local birdlife; what more could you want? A very friendly and relaxing place to stay. We’ll be back

My wife and I learned of astrofarm through visiting astrofest Runcorn last year, booked within a few days and have been looking forward to our stay with excitement for the intervening months. Despite the weather forecast suggesting cloudy skies we went ahead with our plans and, even though the forecasts turned out right, had an immensely enjoyable stay with Andrew and sue. The facilities are great, the accommodation spot on, the location amazing, the skies dark as any I’ve seen (although sadly only experienced for a short period due to weather), but topping all of it is the enthusiasm with which Andrew and Sue welcomed and looked after us. We’ll definitely be returning, but for a longer duration to get more out of the trip. All we need to do now is find the time and book it. Mike

A superb 4 day break with friends! Sue and Andrew were perfect hosts..... Andrew met us all at the airport..at the Astrofarm we were greeted by Sue and all the gorgeous animals ....the pigs were my personal favourites! In the evening we all sat down to one of Sue's many delicious meals. We experience wonderfully clear skies! My husband is a keen Astro photographer and he was delighted to be out until the very early hours imaging! The sky was so stunningly clear. We saw Southern constellations not visible in the UK. We stayed with our friends in the Gite which worked perfectly for the 4 of us. The Gite is a short walk down the path from the main farmhouse. Each couple had a private bathroom and shower, and there was a lovely main lounge area with balcony (just off the shared kitchen) to relax and chat. Andrew drove us out and about during the daytime which was get fun..The holiday was just brilliant...We will definitely return ...stunning skies, great great company and superb hospitality!
