From the helpful emails to the well-stocked gites (including everything you need for kids), to a total willingness to help out with and provide whatever you might need (without being over the top!), Richard and Adrienne set the scene for a truly lovely holiday. We stayed, for two weeks, in Verdhello which was great (including big wide bed for our... More

The first three words that our daughter of 10 used to say how she felt about our holiday in July of 2015. Richard and Ade were the ultimate hosts who genuinely cared about the children's happiness. From plum patrol, to pizza night, pottery class to scuba diving the kids loved every minute. Us parents soon relaxed knowing the kids were... More

La Vendange was such a lovely place to spend a week this summer. We stayed in the 'Verdhello' gite, which was such an amazing find for someone like me with mobility difficulties, because the master bedroom and bathroom are at ground level and there was loads of space to manoeuvre my walking frame (and actually my mobility scooter too!) around... We as a family of 5 booked La Vendage with some friends who stayed in the gites next door, we were sent excellent instructions and Richard was very helpful with information about where to go and trips etc The gites were very nice, there are 5 in a courtyard with a grass play area and play equipment there is also... We had a brilliant holiday here in summer 2012. The layout of the gites around a central enclosed garden is genius, and encourages a very social and convivial holiday for all. We made friends on our holiday at La Vendage that we still see today. However the accommodation suffers from a lack of love. We found everything a bit tatty... More

Readers should note that this review was from 2012 and there was a major refurbishment in 2013. Most of the gites were redecorated and a lot of work was done to replace worn facilities in the garden and barn. This included a new trampoline, new ping pong table and a new pool terrace. Our cleaners generally do a pretty good... More

We love it here. We have 2 girls age 4 and 6 and have been staying at La Vendange each summer for the past 4 years. It is perfect for children, very safe, with an enclosed garden and two lovely heated pools. There are swings, a slide, a trampoline and a shaded sandpit, not forgetting the chickens and quails all... We didn't really know what to expect when we came here, as it's our first time in a Gite. The setting did not disappoint-beautiful rural countryside, yet easy to find (the Sat Nav took us straight here in just under two hours from Bordeaux airport). When we arrived our 2 year old son established himself straight away in the enclosed... More

We have stayed in 2 different gites and this year we will stay in another one. We love the location (but be prepared to drive to beach and larger towns) which is set in acres of countryside with field upon field on sunflowers - stunning in July. Rustic is the right description - it is not a destination for those... More

We spent 4 weeks in Syrah in June/ July 2010, our third trip to Richard's gites. The whole family (mum, dad and three small girls under 4) had a great time and we've booked to go back in 2011. As soon as we arrived the girls were running around the enclosed garden, and demanding to play on the trampoline. This... More

We had a fantastic time at La Vendange. Would highly recommend it to families with young children. Would definetly consider returning there again next year. There are some great day trips but we spend most of our time around the gite chilling while the kids had a ball playing in the garden. The pool was lovely and was a perfect... More
