All the positive comments in other reviews about the comfort and ambience of Chateau de Sarceaux are perfectly true. We have stayed there ourselves on three or four previous occasions. It should have been another last Monday but, having made the reservation in July and having had it confirmed in September - in each case by email directly with the...

We had booked this Chateau for an overnight stay on our way to Calais. Its a family home that has been owned by the current family for 7 generations. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very traditional. Original fireplaces and pictures that give it a period feel. Both hosts are a delight and you are made extremely welcome. We did...

The chateau has been in the same family's hands for 6 generations! It is beautifully maintained and the owners (The Marquis and Marquise) are fastidious in the hospitality they offer. We were given a tour of the chateau and offered a choice of staying in the chateau itself or the converted stable block. Either would have been excellent but we...

Don't come here if you want the ordinary! This wonderful Chateau provides a unique blend of style, excellence, great atmosphere and friendliness. It felt like a return to the days of weekends in country houses. We were treated like royalty (diner was preceded by champagne in the drawing room) and can find nothing to complain about.

If you only stay in one place in France, make it this one. A private Chateau, run by a charming couple. In the same family for generations. Furnished with heirlooms throughout. There were six of us, three couples, who had never met before yet dinner felt like an intimate dinner party. We met Monsieur in the sitting room for aperitifs and...

If you like French Hospitality of the highest standard then this is a wonderful place to stay on the way back to the UK - part of the "family" and dinner with the other guests makes you feel very much at home - Great value for money and we will be back next year.... 😀🍷

If you fancy your wine poured by a Marquis and your eggs scrambled by a Marquise, then this is the place for you. It's the most upmarket B and B (with dinner) that we have ever stayed in. The price is pretty top line as well but you get what you pay for. Large rooms with amazing furniture, good food...

A lovely place that grows on you the more time you spend there. We arrived and were welcomed by the hosts. Many reviewers mention their nobility, but it was never mentioned to us and they were charming and humble. We had booked dinner ... Around 50 euros each and this included an aperitif, bottle of wine and three course dinner...

We were greeted by Jacqueline - a wonderful hostess and shown to our beautiful room. The chateau had a very comfortable atmosphere - especially on such a gorgeous evening. A delicious meal was cooked especially for us and one other couple with whom we sat and chatted. The bedroom was fascinating with many artefacts, photos, paintings etc., and fluffy white...

A small but beautiful chateau in splendid landscaped gardens, and a friendly welcome from the Marquise (who is really charming, and very good fun). The hall, salons and dining room are elegant but comfortable. The bedrooms (bathrooms en suite) are traditional, welcoming, and with lovely views. The chateau is full of interesting family portraits, landscapes, narrative paintings and engravings, with...
