We’ve stayed in resorts around the world and I can honestly say that this far surpasses them all. We are living for the day we can return except we will stay longer than a week, it was heart wrenching to leave! Everything is fantastic - the rooms, staff, service, food and drink, entertainment, views. Such a beautiful island, from popping into the sea and private pool straight from the water villas, to the magnificent fragrant gardens. Even the bathrooms were a little piece of heaven you didn’t want to leave! We are big fans of water sports, and the snorkelling was absolutely outstanding. Couldn’t believe we could jump straight from our luxurious villas and paddle out to a wall reef with amazing sights. The baby turtle on the last day was the highlight! Kids had loads to do, from water sports to volleyball to quizzes and more. The sunset bar was the highlight at the end a a perfect day. The outside movie and the Italian saxophone player were wonderful! And the cocktails! The local staff and service were exceptional, such gentle and friendly people, nothing was too much to ask for. Just a couple of thoughts and suggestions: Given that we were in an all inclusive package we were surprised to have to pay for the mini bar in the rooms as you could get everything in them from the main bar and restaurant at no cost. And all other all inclusive resorts we’ve been to have included non motorised water sports eg kayaking and stand up paddling - we were also surprised to pay for these. However none of this detracted from the most perfect stay ever. Visiting Club Robinson Noonu was a great privilege, from start to finish, we look most forward to our return!

It was one of the best family trips that we have ever had. The hotel is super new, comfortable and clean. The rooms are big and the bathrooms are amazing, with private pool and outdoor shower. The hotel has activities for everybody, kids and adults. The food is very good and the staff very kind. A special attention to Nimaal, the restaurant manager. He was always attentive to everything and makes all in his power to give us the best treatment ever. We felt like celebrities and never had an empty glass when he is around. We lost our special anniversary dinner because of bad weather so he organized everything in the next night, in the beach close to the restaurant as a surprise for us. It was a memorable experience. He is amazing. The diving experience is another great thing to do in family. Gustavo is a very patient and expedient instructor, so we trusted him to dive with us and our daughter. Don’t forget to do a photoshoot. The landscape is beautiful and it’s worth to keep it with you when you go home. Loreef is very talented and has a unique eye for pictures. Amazing! We can’t wait to came back.

I am usually not one to write long reviews but this place deserves all accolades for what its worth. I also don't usually literally cry when I am leaving but if I say so now, I'd be lying. Ok. First things first- professionalism. The moment you land in male- you are their responsibility and man do they do it well. Pick up, standby at great lounge, sea plane ride- having room assigned on before arrival to luggae- everything impeccable. We stayed for 6 days- 4 in beach villa and 2 in lagoon. Even the room change procedure, RTPCR scheduling, check out- everything is so organized- you don;t need to worry or ask. Its all done before you think. Rooms- WOW. New property. cleaned twice a day- equipped with best gadgets- great pool and outdoor shower, bath tub, beds linen- no complain! Food- We are vegetarians and staying there 6 days was no complain on variety or quality of food. Fresh juices, fruits, different cuisine each day- just WOW. but i must add that if you eat meat, you'll be in for a bigger experience and variety. Staff is just amazing. So humble and forthcoming. We were on all inclusive package and no matter if we are in restaurant, bar or sundowner- you have your drinks brought to you when you want and next order taken before you finish. And if that doesn't impress you much, contrary to my fear that 6 days may be too long for Maldives, I enjoyed every waking hour in this resort. They have events all day (updated on website in advance) so you are drinfting from activities to bar quiz to unparalleled sundown bar (BEST place on island) Top it off with theme night parties- white/ neon, great gatsby. It was also my birthday and they send a sparkling wine and heartwarming note- which i wasn't expecting honesty in maldives as pretty much evey guest is celebrating something while on stay, Ah. this time was my second in Maldives and i am usually someone who would love to try new places and experiences but, if i were to visit Maldives again, I am not looking anywhere else. THANK YOU so much. We were loking for an unforgettable vacation, esp after COVID lull. We got that, and much more

Krakow, Poland1 contribution2 helpful votes
GETTING THERE It took us ~24 hours to get there: Arranged by us: - Krakow - Warsaw: PKP Intercity Piccolino train, 2.5 hours TUI: - Warsaw - Dubai: Emirates, Boeing 777-300ER, 6 hours - Dubai - Male: Emirates, Boeing 777-300ER, 5 hours - Male - Orivaru: hydroplane, 1 hour (round trip it was 20 min by speed boat + Maldivian airlines 1 hour) Boeing 777 and Piccolino are great. Hydroplane is interesting just once as it smells with gasoline and does a pretty hard landing if the sea is not calm. Speedboats might not be fun at all if you don’t like jumping on waves at 70-80 km/h. COVID related docs and quarantine The PCR test is checked by Emirates Airline only at baggage check in and transfer. No other checks in the airports. On the round trip from Male to Warsaw, there were no PCR test checks at all by anybody. Maldives requires submitting a special form before arrival and departure. In return you get a QR code which is checked at the airport. At the Dubai - Warsaw flight you submit Poland’s health declaration doc which is collected by the flight crew. Temperature check is done at every major point. But every time my temperature is -1 degree to what I get at home. My wife and I were twice vaccinated 14+ days ago. My daughter (13 yo) is vaccinated only once. We were not sent to quarantine on return to Poland. HOTEL BUSINESS ON MALDIVES There are 1200 islands in Maldives and only around 200 are inhabited, the flora is natural. Building your hotel on Madivian island is quite a journey. - First you need to rent an island for either 50 or 100 years. This cost 1.2M USD per month (Robinson Noonu case). - 1200-1800 workers can build the hotel in 1.5 years. - There are some limitations to protect island nature. You can't cut palms if it’s healthy. Natural island flora should remain at some significant, don’t remember precisely, 70 or 80%. You can’t build buildings (except for telecommunication towers) higher than the highest palm on the island. If you decide not to continue island rent - you need to ensure you remove every brick and piece of concrete from the island back home. - There are some requirements on your staff squad. 60 or 70% should be Maldivians. It’s tricky also because Maldivians don’t cook (women do but they don’t work at resorts) and can’t work with alcohol. If you can’t get to that %, Maldivian government would help by canceling work permits for the corresponding number of random non-maldivian employees so the math checks out. ROBINSON NOONU Robinson Is a german hotel network which is owned by TUI group. Robinson Noonu was built in 2017 at Orivaru Island. It is considered to be a 5 star hotel which provides all inclusive services only. Running an island is another journey on its own: - electricity: is produced by 4 diesel generators, 2 bigger and 2 smaller ones, which work 8 hours a shift. Diesel is delivered to the island by sea tankers and pumped into storage tanks via pipes hidden under docks. - water: is obtained with water distillation from sea water (some high pressure tech). We have not noticed a difference. - canalisation: local cleaning to 80% and then used for plants watering. - food: is delivered from multiple places. - fish is bought from local fishermen. - fruits and vegetables are delivered from Sri-Lanka. - meat and everything is delivered from Germany once per 2-3 weeks . - laundry: night time non stop to balance energy consumption - there are around 300 employees on the Orivaru island Food is cooked in a a-la restaurant style, special for you from a set of available options, instead of a-la fast-food style. Everything is very fresh and delicious. Drinks and non-alcohol cocktails are free of charge. Alcohol and alcohol cocktails are free of charge as well but who is going to need it when Robinson proposes such an intense fitness-gym program: yoga beginners, yoga, full body workout, core, stretching, iron-man (for beginners), flex stick training etc. Divers said to be happy with diving diversity and the underwater world as well. You can dive/snorkeling from the beach or dock: stingrays, mantas, sharks, murens, turtles, crabs and tons of small and big fish (with a parrot fish of course, which makes this nice Maldivian beach powder-sand by processing corals). There are many other activities that could make your vacation pass fast: volleyball, football, bocia, golf, etc. Rooms are very big, 100 sq. m. or so and are cleaned twice a day. Around 40% of tourists are german, another 40% are russian. Local greeting is made by touching your heart with your right hand. It’s just a Noonu thing, not Robinson or Madivian. WEATHER July-August is the rainy season. Weather can change in a matter of minutes from sunny to tropical heavy rain. After sunburn while snorkeling, I was happy to see some rain, but of course it limits your activities. Out of our 9 days at Noonu, 70% of time was sunny and 30% it was rain. SUMMARY - High humidity helps your nose to be always in a good condition. - No construction work around and no cars mean no noise and clean air (2 diesel generators are nothing compared to a crowded street with cars). - You can get sunburn while snorkeling. - You can get a pretty good understanding of the island itself by looking at google maps, satellite view.
