Fabulous meal and great service by Diane and Garth very friendly and helpful and lovely food. Lovely hungry horse, western super mare, inside and outdoor areas and dogs allowed. The food was tasty and hot just to my liking. They have special menus for different days of the week so check them out.

We could not agree more with the positive comments about the food, kitchen, hosts and location. Just terrific and first class. Very nice hosts and hostesses. Well maintained. Room was big with beautifucl view of the river. Contemplative. Will be our number one B&B when we return to PEI.

The Firedance Country Inn is the best B&B I have ever encountered and was the highlight of an utterly enjoyable eleven-day visit to Nova Scotia and PEI. Our hosts, Evan and Erin McAskile, are so good at what they do that it’s hard to believe this is only their third season as B&B owners. They are friendly, helpful, full of interesting stories and travelers’ tips, and genuinely fun to be around. (Their wonderful, four-star-quality breakfasts didn’t hurt, either!) The inn’s riverside location is absolutely beautiful, and our room was so comfortable and stylish that we didn’t want to leave. We hope to visit PEI again soon, and would not even consider staying anywhere else.

Visitors should definitely consider reserving one night to enjoy a private dinner as well. Evan's lobster crepes and Erin's fabulous desserts are not to be missed!

My husband and I stayed at the Firedance Country Inn for two nights after our wedding. At first I was hesitant about staying at a B & B because I was worried about privacy. However, as soon as we arrived at the inn I knew we were going to love it there. Our hosts, Erin and Evan, were incredibly friendly, kind, helpful, and just fun to be around. They were very welcoming and attentive. Our room (king suite) and the view of the river were beautiful. Not to mention the gourmet food we were served. My husband and I both agreed that the breakfasts, picnic lunch, and four course dinner were amoung the best meals we'd ever had.

As if the service, inn, atmosphere, food, and location aren't enough to make the Firedance a must, the rates are extremely reasonable for the quality. They can't be beaten. We will definitely be going back for our anniversary.

We made a reservation at the Firedance Inn based on the description and the photos on the inn's website, and we were thrilled with the place; stayed there for 4 nights earlier this month. We've stayed at many B&Bs, and this was among the very best. The inn was built as a B&B just a few years ago and is just lovely. Our room and bath were immaculately clean, very comfortable, and were a welcome change from the overly fussy Victorian place were stayed on our previous trip to PEI. The river view from our window was expansive and peaceful. The common areas are attractive and welcoming; we got lucky this trip with the spectacular weather, but I could easily see just hanging out with a book on a wet day. The open spaces outdoors, the plantings, and the view were an easy tradeoff for the 15 or 20 minute drive to get into Charlottetown.

Erin and Evan are wonderful hosts. They have a talent for anticipating what guests appreciate, and this is reflected both in the design of the place and in the enthusiasm and thought they bring to the enterprise. Evan's breakfasts were excellent and varied. One option is always a smoothie if for some reason a guest doesn't want a huge meal to start the day. Erin never lets your coffee cup stay empty long. In-house multi-course dinners also are available by reservation, and guests who don't want to go out in the evening can also order one of Evan's lighter "cafe" meals. We ran around PEI and were far afield enough that we didn't take advantage of either of these possibilities, but we heard very positive feedback from guests who'd booked one of the multi-course dinners. (The dining room isn't open to the public; these meals are for inn guests only).

We highly recommend Firedance and look forward to a return visit.

We travelled to PEI this summer with grandparents, a sibling/sibling in-law, our 2 children and thier 2 children. We were a bit concerned about how to find accomodations that would suit all of us. The Firedance Inn was more than we could have ever hoped for. Evan and Erin were kind to our children, and incredibly accomodating (giving us freezer space and a shelf in the pantry for snacks, serving dinner at an early hour, etc. etc.). We were able to feel like we had rented a house, except that they did the cooking, picking up, and gave us great ideas about how to spend our days. We truly could not have been more thrilled and will definitely encourage everyone we know to stay at the Firedance.

My husband and I booked 2 nights at this lovely inn.....and wish we had stayed longer!
Evan and Erin were excellent hosts and had lots of tips and advice to share about places to go and things to see during our stay. The rooms are tastefully decorated and it was a nice place to welcome you back at the end of a busy day, a very peaceful and beautiful property!
We also found the books that the hosts prepared in the rooms helpful as well with restaurants and day trip suggestions etc.
Breakfasts were amazing - fresh breads and great chef specialties!
We have already recommended this place to other vacationers looking for a place to stay on the island!

We visited Prince Edward Island for an anniversary vacation and were looking for a small inn that was quiet and peaceful but also in a good location. Firedance truly exceeded our expectations from the evening we arrived. The B&B is only about 7 years old; the rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and very well-kept. It is obvious that Evan and Erin (the innkeepers) thought about every little detail. The view from our room was breathtaking… fields, flowers, the water. My husband’s favorite memory was waking up one night and watching the moon rise over the river as he lay in bed.

Of course, the best part of Firedance is its innkeepers, Evan and Erin. They are a lovely young couple who enjoy visiting with their guests, and sharing the best places to eat and visit….either close by (Canoe Cove, 5 minutes away) or further away, Summerside (College of Piping), New Glasgow (lovely shops and lobster dinner) or one of the island’s beautiful beaches (Brackley or Cavendish). And, what a delight to start each day with fresh baked bread, fresh fruit and a frittata or delicious waffle. When we had to catch an early flight the last morning, they packed up Erin’s delicious bread, fruit and hot coffee to help us ease back into the real world.

We plan to return next summer and our son is already planning his honeymoon there. We are sharing this gem with all of our friends.

We stayed at this inn for 4 days. Evan and Erin gave us good advice on where to go, and printed out the Hopewell Rocks tide info for us to plan a day trip. We loved the breakfast and the dinning room has a great view of the river and huge backyard. All rooms has satelite TV and VCR, they also have some VCR tapes in case you want to stay in the room at night.

The location - if you are looking for a nice and quite country inn, this is a good place. If you want to be close to activities, then Charlottetown or Cavendish maybe a more suitable choice. The island is small, most places in the island is less than 1 hour away. We picked the place because it is centrally located, and suited for our last minute decision to drive to Hopewell to see the rocks.

Restaurant: New Glasgow Lobster Supper, a nice local favorate, nothing fancy, good value for the money, $29/lb lobster with unlimited mussels, salad, soft drink, desert. We went to New Glasgow because St. Ann's closed on Canada Day, we were glad we went there.

Lobster on the Wharf - we were disappointed. The quality of the food paled compared to New Glasgow.

Reminder: bring insects repel! A walk on the woods cost us dearly without it.

We have just returned home from staying at the Firedance Country Inn. We were visiting PEI for a family wedding. The Firedance has a lovely quiet setting with beautiful views. Wei, John and Jenny went out of their way to make us comfortable. We had delicious breakfasts that included fresh baked cinnamon rolls, pumpkin loaf, fresh fruits and quiches. I hope to return here some day :)
