I volunteered at Spicy Villa in August and it was an amazing experience. The food and the views are spectacular. Spicy Villa is in the mountains and there are so many activities like hiking, feeding elephants, swimming in the waterfalls, and more. Would highly recommend coming here if you want to truly experience Thailand!
Spicy Villa has a very laid-back local vibe, with great bungalows overlooking an incredible farm. The area is full of amazing nature and elephants! 🐘 They also served such great breakfasts and offer local tours of the area and traditions. Would totally recommend saying here!
My stay in Spicy Villa was perfect, I loved everything. The bungalows are really cosy, the view from it is amazing, the staff is very friendly, koko the dog is a great company and they even have a waterfall very close where you can enjoy. Thanks Samar for your awesome services, appreciated that

Ok. I love this place and i love the people at this place !! The view is as green as it gets ... and you can actually see the border between man/woman and nature !! Tawan ( Samart's brother) was my main host. His english is good - so i could explain my strange diet to him.. He understood very quickly : " no rice, no bread, no sugar..), so he drive off to the market and bought many more vegetables.. and avocado as well. It's not easy to describe the wonderful tastes that ensued.. absolutely delicous !! I was actually the only guest for 4 days but i felt at home, with the hosts at spicy and with the people of the village.. On my second day Nu took me on a trek into the jungle.. mostly with sign language and his sharp machete - he showed me how to find and eat nuts off the jungle floor.. I must thank Ma as well who was always there to help.. The first day i didn't need a shower at all.. because i had a swim in the waterfall.. Thank you Samart for making this incredible place.. and thank you Tawan and Nu and Ma ! And of course koko the dog and whatshername? the cat..…
Samart is a very kind person, he es funny and respectful, Samart's team is very kind too. Tawan is a great chef haha, he cooks amazing, be careful Tawan is the best pool player. If you like nature, Spicy villa is the best option for you. After work, you can visit the wonderful waterfall just a few steps from the villa, it is very relaxing, and its a great option after work. This was my firts experience volunteering and i definetly recommend Spicy Villa if you want to have a great time.
I m living in Thailand and Spicy Villa is one my favorite spot. Their location is exceptional. You and the nature with an amazing view on the rice valley. River and waterfall next to the lodge. Breakfast, lunch and diner with this amazing view. Sleep with the sweet sound of the river. And Samart and Tawan ate incredibly friendly. They will prepare for you local organic cocktail, with the local fruits. They also have black coffee machine! Everything we need is here... They have an electric hoven and a pizza hoven.... They also have a fire camp. You will a relaxong room at the second floor with yoga matress and the view. The best place to have a book. And the bungalow are made of wood and all of them has the view on the valley. It is simple and this one what we need. Forget everything and come back to the essential. Nature, relaxation, good moment with the team and the Karen villagers and without forgetting Coco, their friendly dog. Oh, also, they have a pool... Stop to hesitate, spicy villa is a must. …
Joe Spicy is amazing Host he make us all feel at home and the scenery at spice lodge is amazing, shame when ewe visit is not the the season for rice plantations, but if it the time they plant the rice will be even more stunning view to wake up to see in the morning with a cup of coffee.
What a magical place! We spent 5 days at Spicy Villa as a volunteers (not lodge guests) and really enjoyed our time. The Spicy Villa team are wonderful people (and excellent chefs, too!). We assisted with farm work including planting avocado trees and picking pineapples, as well as maintenance such as weeding and cleaning. On our day off, we went bamboo rafting on the Mae Wang river which was amazing. You can tell how much love and hard work has gone into making Spicy Villa a wonderful and homey place to spend time. Thank you to Samart and Tawan for their hospitality, we hope to be back one day!
I spent a week-end in the eco-lodge at the Spicy Villa with my friends and everything was so great! The place, the view, the hospitality of the owners, the food, the drinks. We had a lot of fun with Joe, who told us a lot of stories and traditions about this amazing land. I truly and highly recommend this place to everybody!!! Is a perfect getaway from the city and they offer a lot of excursions such as a visit in an elephant sanctuary, a hike in the jungle to the waterfalls, rafting with the bamboo boat etc.. The price is very cheap in comparison with the other agencies.
