Detailed Reviews
I had a really amazing time spending 7 days at the camp. The tents are really comfortable and contain proper beds with mattresses. All the food was delicious and the hosts were flexible with the serving times. The camp is located a short 30 minute walk from the tallest dune and you can reach beautiful areas of dunes in even less time than that. The hosts Ahmed and Habib were extremely friendly and attentive. The driver for my off road transfer from Mhamid to the camp was also really friendly and a very skilled driver. Would highly recommend.

The whole experience was great, from the email communication.
Our driver Aziz was great, very friendly and funny. Mohamed and all the camp staff were great too. And I would like to mention Ahmed, the dromedary guide who treats the dromedaries with such finesse, something I was a bit worried about before doing so.
Also highlight the quality of the dinner in the middle of the desert, the sunset at the top of the great dune and the sunrise in the dunes near the camp.

Travelling to the camp from Marrakech through the atlas mountains and staying in the Sahara was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I dont think there was anything I didn't enjoy. The staff at the camp were so warm and friendly and always made sure you had everything you needed. The setting of the camp was perfect, we got up early morning to watch the sunrise and then went exploring the sand dunes. I couldn't believe I was really there. The night sky was so beautiful. Also we had just the right balance of time to ourselves relaxing and activities. We got to go to a nomad village, visited an oasis and went on a camel trek at sunset. Our guide Khalid was lovely, he made us all feel relaxed from the moment he picked us up in Marrakech and all through the trip he told us lots of interesting things about Morocco, and the kasbahs and places we stopped at on the way. He really helped make the experience. Oh and also the food at the camp was delicious, me my friend and sister all had vegetarian food and there was so much choice and it was all freshly prepared. The tents themselves were comfortable and the toilet and shower facilities were good. Anyone considering going on this trip should just go for it, I will never forget it it was magical!

The camp is just the right place for visiting both with friends, we had an amazing time!
We were so warmly welcomed, with amazing food and drinks. The hosts were always kind to us being receptive every time we needed something.
We slept under the stars as we wanted to experience the desert nights and the personnel helped us with taking some of the beds outside. It was really fun! I absolutely recommend this place as I deeply fell in love with the place and people!

I stayed here in Feb 2019. Upon arriving at camp I was greeted by Hosin and assigned my tent with a very large comfy bed. The food was very tasty. I toured by camel one day solo and enjoyed a chicken kebab meal with salads. In the evening I was entertained around the fire by the locals singing. My favorite time of day was sunset watching the colors of the sky change moment to moment as the sun set below the dunes. I enjoyed the peace and magic of the desert and the hospitality was fantastic!! Looking forward to returning one day!!

We had the most amazing two night stay with Camp Al Koutban. Happy from first second to the last. At pick-up we got linked to our guide Ibrahim and our driver for the experience. Both super sweet. They always make sure you have a full bottle of water and that everything is to your liking. Lovely people working at the camp as well, again really giving you your space and freedom, clear in communication and making sure everything is okay. It’s a very romantic, serene and idyllic setting, with clean tents and bathroom. The excursions at the camp are great. Nice walking tour with visit to the welcoming and interesting nomadic camp. You get a lot of tips where and at what time you have the best sunset and sunrise. Sand boards for free use and a lovely camel sunset tour. (We are not the biggest fans on riding animals, but the overall experience was great.) Food = to die for. So delicious!! Everything is your choice. Time you want to leave for an excursion or when to have breakfast.
Oh and not to forget, most amazing views on the sky full of stars, you can even see the Milky Way pretty clearly!
So overall = please do this if you are in Morocco.

What an amazing Sahara experience! Thank you Hocine, Bashir, Ilias, Yahir and the rest of the team for looking after us so well. Truly magical.
In hindsight it seems only natural that my nomadic family would arrive in a dusty campervan and feel so comfortable at Camp Al Koutban. Living lightly amongst the M’hamid desert dwellers, hanging out in a remote solar-powered camp, playing in nature’s dusty playground with kindred spirits. So many highlights; walking up the dunes for sunset, camel trekking, sunrise yoga in the sand, AMAZING food, comfy beds, fireside drumming, the

Incredible beauty and peace 2 hours drive from Mhamid through the desert. Daoud was a fantastic driver and guide, and the service was exceptional throughout - plus the staff gave a great musical performance around the campfire! Sunrise and sunset were magical, and lying outside under a blanket of stars is an unbelievable bucket list experience.

I travelled to Morocco from Portugal in November last year. My goal was film a scene for a short film in the Sahara desert. I spoke to Emily about what I hoped to achieve before I left and the communication and advice that she offered couldn’t have been better. I arranged a two night stay in the Wild Morocco camp in Erg Chigaga (4X4 Morocco Desert Tour Adventure).
I met Khalid my driver and guide in Marrakech and we drove to the desert. Khalid was and exceptional guide, very knowledgeable of Morocco past and present, he was both fascinating and entertaining to talk to. The drive from Marrakech is long, but the scenery is epic, the car was comfortable and I had good company with Khalid. Later that day we arrived at the Erg Chigaga camp were we met Hocin. Hocin was an incredible host, charming, a superb cook and brilliant knowledge of the desert. My tent was very comfortable for my two night stay, and the washing facilities at the camp were excellent. The desert was spectacular, astonishing, Khalid, Hocin and I went trekking in the dunes, I did the filming I needed to do and all the time I felt I had brilliant guidance and help.
I can’t recommend Wild Morocco enough, communication, travel, accommodation, food, people, comfort, wildness! All of these things were exemplary. In particular the people, talking and organising with Emily, and being guided by Khalid and Hocin made the experience very special.

We had the absolute best time at this camp! We felt so welcomed and taken care of. I am vegetarian and the food was the best in Morocco, the accommodation was cosy, clean and cute. The hosts were so thoughtful, interesting and you really felt at home here in the middle of the desert.
The landscape is surreal, like you are on another planet. Words cant explain the feeling.
I simply cannot recommend enough. We are already planning our next trip!
