I've been to the TRS Yucatan 2x before and brought my new partner with me. He said the food was the best resort food he'd ever had. We checked in on a Monday evening and left Friday afternoon. We enjoyed the hydrotherapy circuit at the spa, the infinity pool each day, breakfast at Carpacio, lunch at Helios, dinners at Gaucho, La Boheme, and Tetrizone. We tried snorkeling but the water was choppy and visibility really bad. But, overall the staff is amazing. Always courteous and providing great service. The food is amazing. We stayed in a romance bungalow. It felt really private and the outdoor shower was wonderful. We actually took the canoe out and had a great time, although we had to bail out some water first. It was a test of skill to not tip over, lol, but it was a lot of fun! We missed out on the show as it was sold out, but got to see live music afterwards that was really well done and got us to move. This was my 3rd time at this resort and I hope to be back again sometime.…
TRS Review: We travelled to TRS Yucatan for our honeymoon and spent 10 beautiful nights there. The hotel and resort far exceeded our expectations and being adults only made for a very peaceful and tranquil retreat. From the architecture and decor of the buildings and restaurants, to the high standard of service that made us feel like VIPs (the norm for TRS guests!), to the high quality and quantity of food options, it really was a spectacular holiday. This is a long review but I thought it’d be good to give a breakdown of all the aspects that I would have been interested to know before we went. If you are interested in travelling here, we recommend it very highly! Room We stayed in a Junior Pool Suite with a jungle view in building 60. The suite exuded minimalist luxury, with very well thought out furnishings including a lot of mood lighting and a full length of mirrors on one side of the suite. We opted for a king size bed which was very comfortable and there was a menu of pillow types to choose from ahead of our arrival. The suite has four main spaces: a dressing area as you enter with a bench, next to the enclosed toilet and shower space with exposed sinks and mirrors. The bed area is the middle of the suite, opposite a large wall mounted television (many Mexican and American TV channels available as well as access to Netflix and Spotify using your own personal login details). As well as functioning as a TV, the Home Screen gives lots of information about the resort and is the platform you use to order room service. Underneath the TV is the minibar which is restocked daily and ahead of arrival you are able to specify items you would like from a menu. This includes two premium bottles (we chose a bottle of whisky and a gin). The third area of the suite is a curved sofa with a coffee table, the perfect spot to enjoy some room service. Opposite is a small wooden bar area with a chair where the premium bottles were kept alongside glasses and coasters. There is also a nespresso coffee machine with several capsules (flavour requested ahead of arrival), milk sachets and a variety of teas. Also on this space was a Bluetooth speaker which we requested to use during our stay. The fourth area of the suite is the outside terrace which has a very comfortable outdoor sofa, a small dining table with two chairs and a plunge pool. The jungle (a range of different palms and other foliage) was directly behind the pool which gave us a lot of privacy as well as providing a beautiful backdrop. The pool had a button to create some bubbles - similar to a jacuzzi but restricted to one end rather than the whole pool. The temperature of the pool was on the cool side however it was a sun trap from around 11am-3pm and during these hours was very refreshing! Butler Service The butler service is made up of a team of 3-4 people per building who work on rotational shifts. They are contactable via WhatsApp or in person at the desk of the buildings lobby. We found this service to be like an on-hand concierge, answering questions quickly, solving any issues we had, making dinner reservations and giving us advice on how to make the most of our stay. The butlers also order you carts (golf carts) which can take you to any location in the resort - though everything is easily accessible within a 5-15 minute walk. Our butler team were incredibly friendly and so hospitable, they provided us with such a warm welcome. From helping us out to get ice in the ice bucket ready for a cold drink to showing us how to work the nespresso machine, to ordering room service for us ahead of us getting back to the room, we really appreciated their time and efforts. A big shout out to George, Adrian, Andrea and Christian in building 60!! Food This is hands down the best food we have ever experienced at an all inclusive resort. We cannot recommend it highly enough, it was incredible. All meals are A La Carte with a large variety of restaurants to choose from. There are two breakfast and lunch restaurants on the TRS side of the resort: Capricho - which is a classy indoor venue, usually accompanied by jazz music, and Helios - which is the more rustic/bohemian beach club with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the sea Both of these restaurants offer a buffet and A La Carte for breakfast, as well as typical continental breakfast items, the buffet includes delicacies such as Jamon Iberico and Caviar as well as traditional Mexican food such freshly made tacos and stews. Helios is the only buffet lunch offering as Capricho is menu ordering only for lunch, however there are also lunch items served from a grill next to the pool bar by the infinity pool from 1pm-4pm. All other restaurants are evening service only, the first table is at 5.30pm and the final table is at 10pm. All of these restaurants require a reservation, as some are very popular it is best to book these all in with your butler on your first day to ensure you get to go where you want to at the time you’d like. We found La Boheme (French cuisine) and El Gaucho (Argentinian steakhouse) to be the best restaurants however all TRS locations did exceptional food. There was no limit on how many dishes you can order, so we often ordered multiple starters just so we could try as much as possible. The evening food at Helios is also excellent and the only place where you can enjoy lobster without an additional charge. All restaurants had a premium wine menu for an extra charge however we found the house wine that was already to included to be very good in most places. As part of being in the Palladium resort, there is also the option to dine outside of the TRS section in any of the A La Carte restaurants of the neighbouring hotels. We found this to be a bit hit and miss, overall the standard of service and food wasn’t as high as the TRS establishments. We only went to La Lola (Spanish tapas), Ribs & More (would not recommend at all) and the Teppanyaki grill at Sumptuori (some fabulous show cooking here). Other TRS guests we spoke to had really enjoyed Brahi E Brasa but we can’t give personal comment on this. We also ventured to La Dalia a couple of times for lunch (a typical all inclusive buffet) which was helpful when we needed to grab something quickly. One of the biggest surprises for us was how good the room service food was. There were three menus for different times of the day, including comfort foods, Mexican cuisine and also some more fine dining options. This service is 24 hours and takes about 45 minutes to an hour to arrive to the room. We enjoyed lots of fresh shrimp tacos! There was also the option to order popcorn in case you have a movie night in the room (films available to purchase through the TV app - or just use your Netflix account!). There were several premium experiences available at extra cost (around $100 US per person). One we really hoped to do was the Chefs table (8 course meal with wine pairings and cocktails, cooked live), and though we had booked this for our last night of the holiday, it was cancelled the night before because the minimum of 6 people had not signed up. This was our only disappoint in the entire holiday, in hindsight we would have said to the butlers that we were available to do it on any night that it was running so that we didn’t miss out on the experience. We suggest to do this if this is something you’re interested in doing. Pools There are three different pools on the TRS side of the resort, each with their own bar and free towel hire. The most popular pool is the infinity pool which looks out on to the ocean, the second coastal pool is made of sea water and the final pool is tucked away and is much quieter, closer to the TRS lobby. There are a variety of sunbeds, some more comfortable than others and cabana beds that guests would get up very early to secure. We found that the cushioned sunbeds were actually more comfortable than the cabana beds. All pools were very clean and provided areas to bathe in the sun or shade. The neighbouring White Sands hotel has a very large pool and although it’s not adults only, it’s still a fairly quiet and peaceful pool area with a swim up bar. We found that most families in the resort gathered at the colonial hotel pool where there is a small water park and direct beach access. Location TRS Yucatan is just over one hours drive from Cancun airport without traffic. Just like many of the hotels in Riviera Maya, there isn’t anything directly next to or around the resort, it is quite isolated and requires transport to leave. However, if is only 20 minutes drive from Akumal (where there are sea turtles) and 30 minutes from the Mayan ruins at Tulum. Beach Though the TRS section of the resort doesn’t have a beach, all TRS guests are welcome to use the strip of beach stretching from the White Sands hotel all the way to the Kantenah hotel. The White sands side is much quieter with the beach bar Poseidon close by. There are many Sun loungers available however there are no towel hire huts nearby so best to bring some from elsewhere. The sand is white and the sea water is very clear, some of it appears turqouise blue. However there can be a lot of seaweed, both in the water and on the sand (huge mounds of it - though the hotel staff do their best to clear it when they can!) which discolours the water to a red/brown hue. There are bouys that mark an area of safety to swim in. There are some rocks at some places in the water however there were plenty of access points that were sandy. Entertainment At TRS, live music is everywhere. From singers and guitarists to saxophonists, we would regularly listen to live music as we ate our lunch or swam in the pool. The quality of musicians was also very high - not the cheesy mediocre entertainment you can find in some resorts. Every evening there was a multitude of things to choose from. Most of the action at TRS took place at the Full Moon Bar, from live bands to dancers to silent discos - there was something on every night. Our favourite experience by far though has to be the Chic Caberet. Asides from enjoying a beautiful five course meal, we were blown away by the professionalism of the performances. The singers were phenomenal and the amount of routines and costumes put together for just one show was insane - it was such a treat and definitely work booking on to! There were daily exercise activities in the pools including an underwater spin class. There were also regular volleyball tournaments over at Colonial. Although we didn’t take part in any, there were a lot of options to take part in different experiences such as cooking classes, bartending experiences, tequila tastings and language courses. There was a huge amount of variety and lots to keep you entertained. There was also the opportunity to get involved in any of the entertainment programmes run at the three other hotels in the resort. Spa Facilities We spent $200 on a romance spa package for two which included 100 minutes for a massage, full body exfoliation and a facial, full day access to the Zentropia spa, a glass of champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries. This was actually advertised as being $300 but we negotiated the cheaper price with the representative in the TRS lobby - so definitely worth bartering before you part with the cash! Zentropia has its own separate section of the resort, with its own pool, gym and hydrotherapy area including sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, cold plunge pool and more. You can easily spend the whole day there, it’s very peaceful and definitely very ‘zen’. We were both very satisfied with the treatments and level of care we received, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing day. Excursions In the TRS lobby there is a representative for external excursions who is able to book you on with several different tour providers. We found the experience of booking excursions very easy and the prices very reasonable. In just 30 minutes we were able to explore and book 3 different excursions over the course of our stay. We chose to do the full day tour to Chichen Itza, including a visit to a Mayan village, swimming in a Cenote and visiting a colonial city. As the Chichen Itza is a 2.5-3 hour drive from the hotel, this was a very long day (leaving at 8.40am, returning at 8.30pm) but we found the sites and the experience well worth the time. We did a half day tour to Akamal to go snorkelling and to swim in some sea caves. We saw two sea turtles, some sting ray and a large variety of colourful marine life in and amongst the coral and sea grass. Our final half day tour was to the ruins of Tulum, an old Mayan city on a cliff top made in a similar style to the Chichen Itza.…
I just want to mention, better cleaning of the beaches, on the shores you can see some trash and broke my heart seeing iguanas and cranes walking on it. I will be willing in paying more than $ 35.00 pesos per day to have better conservation of the enviroment
Food and service on this resort was amazing Highly recommend the TRS Side As I am sure many resorts are right now after the pandemic, could use some repairs and upgrades around the massive complex, but not anything that made our stay any worse.
Santos was the best waiter we have ever had EVER on vacation. I am a frequent traveler and have only had a few experiences as good as we had with Santos as our waiter. Service was Top notch. Food recommendations were on point. He makes me want to come back and special request him as a waiter
We Had a fantastic time at the TRS Yucatan, grounds were beautiful, food was delicious and weather was perfect. Excellent service from the staff and a special shout out to our Butlers: Belen, Gabriel and Paris serving villa 66, you all made our vacatiin a very special one and we really appreciated all of your hard work. The only negative note would be directed to Helios for their breakfast and lunch service, food was great but service was slow and lacking. Positive note: breakfast and lunch at Capricho's was fantastic, food and service impecable, special shout out to Patricia the hostess and the other hostess who's name escapes me and our waitress Martha and Angelina and all the the wait staff at Capricho's best service ever. Chic Cabaret excellent as usual, great entertainment all round the resort. TRS cart drivers always on time and friendly, PTC cart service terrible, never on time or didn't show up at all. Spa was awesome and relaxing, clean and well manicured property, massages very good. Once again all round great vacation, thank you TRS Yucatan.…
Incredible evening at the Gaucho - TRS Paladdium Yucatan. Fernando was on point tonight, providing us with excellent recommendations and great service. Gaucho is a great steakhouse, atmosphere is quaint, and food exceptional.
We had an incredible stay at the TRS Yucatán a couple weeks ago. The resort is impeccable, food was delicious, and the staff and service blew our minds. Our butlers George and Guillermo went above and beyond to make our stay very special. La Gaucho was our favorite restaurant and our waiter Fernando was really fantastic. Also kuddos to Manuel at La Boheme, the French restaurant. Our experience was wonderful and we highly recommend this resort to others. Enjoy!
This resort is simply amazing! I fell in love with it and I am already planning my return. I’ve been on many trips before and this place has simply captivated my heart. The staff and its amenities are are huge part of what make it great. The restaurants offer the most delicious food and drinks. Chic Cabaret and Restaurant is a must! The show and it’s performers are simply amazing. Their talent deserves to be experienced by all. I plan to return soon. I highly recommend this resort! This was the best vacation ever.
