The staff is good and the hotel is clean. The location of the cabanas would bit distract your privacy. There is a pvt beach in the hotel area after like 1 minute walk. There is a bit difficulty in communicating.

We had a four night stay at Elegant Green. The lodges are smart and well presented, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The access track to the hotel is a little hard to find and as a shared road it's not particularly well maintained, but it's only a short trip and then you're in the lovely private garden of Elegant Green. There is a walled plot of land between the hotel and the beach, so you only get a partial view of the beach, but there is a short, private access pathway down to the beach with the hotel's own sun loungers and shelters. The staff were very friendly and hospitable, they also provided a very efficient service, responding to any queries or problems straight away. We arrived during a torrential rain storm, which resulted in some water getting in under the front doors of the lodges, within an hour of the staff being informed they had attached brush strips the bottom of each lodge door, which solved the problem. Breakfast was served whenever it suited. Coffee/tea, fresh fruit platter, pancakes, omelette, toasted sandwiches. We also had several evening meals at the restaurant, which were freshly prepared, well presented and really tasty. I would recommend a stay here if you want good value, comfortable accommodation.

My wife and I found and booked this new resort on line, about 5 months after it opened in Uppuveli, just north of Trincomalee. We stayed three nights, Sept. 20th to 22nd, in one of five independent cabins. The narrow lane to the resort off the beach road is tricky and not well signed, taking one past a mosque and other tenements. The resort lies at the end of that laneway. We were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The manager took us under his wing, no doubt helped by knowing that I spoke Tamil, his language. The room was quickly made ready and we relaxed, away from the hot sun, in air-conditioned comfort. The room was clean, but it would have been appreciated if the front steps and porch were swept regularly so that we would not track sand into the room. The bathroom fixtures worked well and the lighting was adequate. Additional towels were provided when requested. Though described as having a "sea view", all rooms essentially face the office/dining area, though the sea can be heard very clearly, though it is more than 100 metres to the beach. We were not bothered by construction underway in the adjacent resort, except that their beachfront bar was very next to our beach area and it served up loud disco music much of the time. But that is a minor complaint. We were able to sit on the beach every evening and get served our dinner and/or drinks, making it a very enjoyable place to be. Fishermen stacked their boats on either side of the resorts, though some distance so as to not bother us. We did get to watch the boats go out and come in, and the catch being unloaded. The water at the beach seemed clean and safe for swimming, but we were unsure about an undertow, so we swam very close to shore. The beach area also had deck chairs with cushions if we so desired. The kitchen is very small, yet the nightly food and breakfasts were quite good. It was only when we were offered Indian breakfasts od idly, vada and dosa that we realized that they had to be brought in from outside and so were not always as hot or tasty as we would want. The kitchen is an area for improvement, though seating was adequate for only 4 tables, though there are 5 cabins. The manager arranged transportation to the railway station, made enquiries in our behalf and arranged for boat trips to see dolphins and whales, and one to Pigeon Island to snorkel. The dolphins/whales trip was not worth it at this time of year since we saw only a few dolphins, and no whales. Recognizing that the resort is new and the staff are just becoming familiar with the place and the needs of their clients, the resort is very much worth supporting. It was very safe and close enough to the beach road to access tuk tuks and go anywhere we wished. We would not hesitate to return or to recommend to others.
