We are a boutique 3.5 star beach hotel located at the end of the Salamumu Beach road (about 6km track off main road). Our simple colorful wooden bungalows are all absolute beach front with their own private outdoor lava rock bathroom, private deck and of course fabulous beach and Pacific Ocean views. We are the perfect location for active families, couples and singles who want to totally switch off from the World for the length of their stay, be "Off The Grid" and see the real Samoa. We have an all-day Tiki bar and restaurant serving fresh, locally sourced ingredients in a varied menu and lots of seafood (try the Coconut Wahoo!) Comfortable deck seating for a sunset cocktail, good music including traditional Samoan tunes and great vibes. All our friendly staff from the local village can share their knowledge of the best places to visit, and the stories of the real Samoa. Car hire recommended! We also have , SUPs and Kayaks free for in-house guests. Snorkeling out front is fantastic!

The road to get here, wasn't that bad at all. Nice to be in an isolated place. The grounds were immaculate and there were lots of different spots to relax in (e.g. by the pool, veranda on the rooms and several day beds and loungers.) Accommodation is good. The beds were really comforty. Several of our lights didn't work in our room; we asked someone to fix them; but it was Friday and the "maintenance man had gone home". We just made do and my husband tried to fix them. However it would have been good to have lights in the bedrooms and toilet; esp for the kids at night time. The pool is a fantastic setting and gorgeous to swim in. The snorkeling was best straight out the front; the waves and currents were quite strong. The food was very good and there was a good choice for both adults and kids. The staff were excellent, especially Moses, Tanna and Patrica. The staff (esp kitchen staff) all looked on edge when Alison was about. We really enjoyed our stay, but our main criticism was the lack of acknowledgment from Dan and Alison. When I booked, Alison was extremely helpful and I was looking forward to meeting her. However for our whole stay they never came to introduce themselves to us, or even talk to us. For a smaller boutique resort; I would expect this personal touch of touching base with your guests at some stage of the day (e.g. brief chat at breakfast or dinner time). When we saw them they always looked like they didn't have time to say hi and have a chat about things. They would head into their office and close the door. Apart from this, we did enjoy our stay. Thank you.

Talofa Becky! Thank you for the review and overall your experience with our Sa'Moana family was great I am glad to hear. Sorry about the light situation - humblest apologies. Re our bosses - Alison and Dan are very good to us and have given us all extra responsibilities as workers so they are not really involved in the business now which is great for our training in hospitality enabling us to progress and really learn about our roles and grow. Alison and Dan are often busy in the background ensuring that we have guests to service and administration to ensure we provide the best service to our guests who come to spend time with local staff rather than our Overseas Owners. Alison & Dan pass on their apologies for not spending more time with you but know you were well looked after by me and the team, Was great having you and the family and look forward to welcoming you back to our Samoan family soon. Much Alofas Patricia

My family of 4 stayed at Sa'Moana for 10 days from 8 to 18 July 2019. We had an amazing holiday! The small resort is right on the beach and the crashing waves can be heard from your bungalow as you sleep. The views are truly spectacular and the friendliness of the resort staff and other people staying there are apparent from the minute you arrive. This is helped by it's small size and the intimacy of the resort and it's restaurant area. Friendships are formed quickly! It is remote (very bumpy road; about 20 minutes from the main road) but we found that this drive added to our'samoan' experience. We encountered friendly, smiling villagers waving at us, pigs and piglets trotting across the road, as well as dogs and chickens. You do need a sturdy hire car, as there are lots of amazing places to explore nearby, but we were always happy to return to Sa'Moana at the end of the day for peace and tranquility. Great food each night (fish dishes are delicious!!) and the lava rock infinity pool is awesome! We spent ages watching the crabs and staring out at the amazing sea view! There is great snorkeling in the clear waters surrounding the resort and you can use the resort kayaks for free, too! This is not a resort for people wanting top-end luxury accommodation with TVs, constant wifi and resort entertainment. It is for people who wish to slow down and take a break from the outside world, a place where you can switch off and reconnect with nature. The staff are like old friends - Tanna, Patricia and Moses were wonderful and went out of their way to be helpful. All in all, a fantastic holiday where we have made memories to last a lifetime. THANK YOU!

Talofa Sara! Thank you so much for this review - I have shared it with the team today and it has made them very happy as they are being trained to improve their skills across all fields and li appears likes it working which is fantastic! Malo! Your review has really helped motivate them, which in turn develops them in their roles. Myself and Alison are very much in the background and are really focusing on developing the skills of our local teams to open up their opportunities and make the guest experience more authentic. Hopefully we can welcome you back soon and you can enjoy the Giant Clams for the 4th time! Kind regards Daniel

Just returned from spending one glorious week at Sa'Moana beach bungalows and it was heaven on earth. We were a group of 7 friends who had escaped the winter of New Zealand, we were looking for a place that had few people and even fewer kids and Sa'Moana delivered. We had the beach house which fitted our needs perfectly. The pool was amazing, the beach beautiful and when you had enough of the beach outside Sa'Moana, you could always go for a 10 minute walk to the lagoon where they filmed Survivor Samoa and that was stunning. The water was crystal clear and deliciously warm. The people at Sa'Moana are so helpful and friendly, all our questions were answered. The food served at the resort was yummy, the cocktails were perfect. Our group all agreed that this is the only place we would stay in Samoa.

Talofa Guys! Thanks for the great review. We could see you and your friends having as great time here and it made our team very happy. We are very much about building a local team so you may not have seen us around too much but we definitely had feedback from our team that you guys were having a great time. The Beach House is perfect for groups of mates on a winter break - relax, unwind and reconnect with nature and your friends. Welcome back anytime and the team here are really motivated by your comments. Thank you! All the best Ally

We had a lovely 5 night stay at Sa'Moana. It was off the beaten track, which was just what we wanted. And yes, that road out there is bumpy. Moses and Tanga gave us great service and the food was fab. Totally recommend the Tuna Coconut bake. Delish. We hired a car to go off adventuring and Patricia gave us good tips on where to go. We took our 17month old and it was fine for her. They had highchairs at the restaurant and a portacot for her to sleep in. We'd stay there again.

We visited Sa'Moana for the first time last year and loved it so much we had literally been counting down the days to visiting again. So lovely that the staff remembered us again, and it was as beautiful as ever. Loved the added extras at breakfast this year with fresh juices and eggs. Still the best Poke and tuna sashimi on the island. The water in front of the resort was a bit rougher this year with some windy days, but we just walked down the track to Survivor beach for a great swimming spot just 10 mins walk from our bungalow. Thanks Alison, Dan, Moses, Patricia and Tana for the perfect warm winter break!
