Surrounded by stunning natural beauty in a peaceful alley of Văn Lâm, a 700-year-old craft village, Le Clos du Fil is a unique boutique hotel. The creator and owner of the charming shelter is Ngân Đỗ, born and raised in this historic area and daughter of a vanguard hand embroiderer. After years of preserving her father’s legacy by running an atelier of craftsmen, Ngân decided to share the allure of her hometown by creating a home away from home for travelers. Boasting classic Vietnamese architecture, refine locally handmade decor and views of towering karsts, a stay at Le Clos du Fil is more than just a visit but a source of inspiration.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Clos du fil. The Hotel had everything to make us happy: a spacious room on the fifth floor with a nice view OVER the city of the wonderful mountains behind. The morning breakfast buffet had a very good variety from your morning Phở, eggs, crèpes, croissant, sticky rice... whatever your heart desires. Having tried some other restaurants in the town, we can highly recomend the kitchen at the Clos du fil. Unfortunatly it was too cold to try out the pool, but I'm sure it is great as well. Someone mentioned here that you can't reach the hotel through the narrow road - well, that made our driver laugh. He picked us up in a 4x4 - in front of the hotel entrance. One little thing you have to be aware of: If there are festivities in the town you might be disturbed by karaoke chanting - but that will haunt you in any hotel situated in the center. Nevertheless, we can fully recommend this place and would pick it any time over any other hotel we've seen in Nin Binh province. Did I mention the complementary bikes and the free parking?

Great welcoming staff that greet you with tea and a fresh cold towel. They then take you to your room through a bamboo and a hidden swimming pool the building has local embroidery (you can take a class & see how it is done). The rooms are beautiful & dimple. You are here to relax. & enjoy nature with a small village twist, no to watch TV.

Only stayed one night but wish it could have been longer.
We had a fantastic room on the top floor (paid a bit more for a premium room) with views of the town and countryside. Such a comfortable bed - had a fantastic night sleep, especially compared to the overnight train from Hue the night before.
Lovely small pool area with a bar. We ate at the restaurant and the food was great. Nice little gift shop selling really well made embroidered gifts.
Lots of the things around the hotel - pictures, lampshades, curtains etc - were embroidered which gave a nice touch.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and helpful.

We lashed out and treated ourselves to an upgrade. It was so worth the extra. Our room on level 6 was outstanding and the views were phenomenal from the panoramic windows. The location was central with many good, cheap places to eat. The front office was happy to arrange transport if needed or they had free bikes on hand. We loved it and highly recommend a stay.

We booked two rooms for a mini break from Hanoi for Tet. Me and my husband and I had stayed here last year and really loved the hotel and location so we're keen to return with friends. The check-in was a bit of a nightmare as I assume they have had a change in policy since our last visit as they did not accept passport scans and insisted on our visa details, too. This was completely different from last year and awkward as our passports were in the process of being renewed, so we didn't have them to bring along. Eventually, they let us stay, but I couldn't help but think this could have been made clearer prior to arrival. The hotel sends out detailed information about the hotel prior to arriving, and this info should be added to that. The above aside, we all enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were huge and super comfy with a great balcony. The breakfast was super tasty and varied enough for a few days. The pool is not heated, but it has a decent length and is okay when you get going with laps. We hired a few bikes for a morning, and these were much better than expected, very sturdy, and done the job easily

Stunningly beautiful boutique hotel. Massively exceeded my expectations. Our family are used to budget and mid-range hotels, and lots of camping on east coast Australia, so this really was luxury! Artists and aesthetes will appreciate the styling and special touches. Pool and tropical landscaping is heavenly. Everything smells so good! Note that the photos on site are a few years old and garden is now very established. Hotel is tucked down a sweet side street with a delightful garden cafe next door. Thank you to Le Clos du Fil staff for a wonderful stay. I wish I’d booked a week here. 😊

The hotel is very well placed close to the pier and restaurants. Transfer possible by bus from Hanoi or / and to Halong Bay maritime, several agencies on the main street. The decoration of the hotel is very beautiful with handmade products made on site and which are for sale if needed. The suite room was exceptional. Very nice view of the rice fields. Large size and quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Very functional bathroom. Decent breakfast. Free bike rental to visit the surrounding area. Very nice stay.

Beautiful hotel, quietly located, very large, stylish and authentically furnished rooms with a large balcony. Bathroom with a large bathtub and shower cubicle. A true oasis. The owners come from a family that practices traditional Vietnamese embroidery. This can be seen in the many lovely details in the room and throughout the hotel. And there is a shop where you can buy beautiful embroidered souvenirs.

Such a lovely, calm oasis in Tam Coc. A beautiful little hotel that felt like a soft place to land after a rather busy week travelling around North Vietnam. The owner had a very clear vision of the atmosphere she wanted to achieve and it all feels very thought through. Everywhere there are little hand embroidered details- the signs, the key hangers, the linen. Really beautiful! There is a lovely little gift shop as well selling hand embroidered gifts. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the food is good. We truly enjoyed our stay and will think back on it as one of the highlights of our trip.

Five of us (3 adults, 2 children) spent 2 nights over New Year at Clos du Fil. It was our second visit. It was as lovely as we remembered it except that this time there were many more guests and full buffet breakfast. The location is hard to beat, in the middle of Tam Coc but at end of a quiet alley. Lots of bikes. My mother bought lots of embroidery and took the 2-hour class, which she enjoyed. Some family members missed not having a TV in the room. The owner told us how hard it had been opening the hotel just before covid struck.
