    A perfectly peaceful weekend
A beautiful, peaceful hideaway on the banks of the Belize River. The property is spectacular! We saw so many birds flying around and iguanas basking in the sun. The resort is a traditional cabin style resort, and the lodge is very comfortable and welcoming. We stayed in the Dream Suite which was lovely; very clean, comfy bed & good water pressure (not to be taken for grated in Belize 😁). There are 2 pools which were also clean and quiet. The cabins are very well spaced to give everyone privacy. We spent a couple of hours canoeing up the river and walked along the hiking trails. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is traditional Belizean fare, freshly cooked to order and delicious. We booked a shuttle ride to/ from the airport but after seeing the great new roads we would hire a car next time. The lodge is close to Belmopan and an easy drive to San Ignacio and it would be great to have the extra independence. We did the ATM Cave excursion booked through the resort which I highly recommend. They use Maya Walk for their tours and we were very impressed with them too. We are definitely planning a return visit. Thanks everyone!
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience in our rainforest paradise.

    Simply WOW!
This was by far our favourite accomodation during our three week trip of Yucatan (Mexico) & Belize. The lodge is beautifully located, atop a hill overlooking the lazily flowing Mopan river. The grounds are wonderful: just the right balance between the "encroaching" rain forest and a tastefully kept garden running down to the river bank. You can hear all kinds of wildlife around (especially during dawn and dusk), including howler monkeys in the distance. During our stay, we spotted hummingbirds, tucans, all sorts of other exotic birds and the inevitable iguanas and other lizards, as well as plenty of butterflies. However, we did not encounter any insects or spiders in our room or in the dining area. The cabins are stunning: spacious, nicely (and simply) furnished, with a terrace overlooking the valley or looking into the gardens. It is a wonderful experience to laze on the terrace and just let time and the river slowly float by while listening to the surrounding forest. The restaurant serves perfectly adequate fare – no haute cuisine, but absolutely worth looking forward to each day and reasonably priced. An extra word about service: everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. All in all, Dream Valley is a special place. It's no all-out luxury resort, but it is a comfortable and very laid-back lodge where you'll wish you'd have booked more nights than you actually did.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience in our rainforest paradise.

    Truly a dream come true
We arrived at Dream Valley in Teakettle, Belize on a Thursday afternoon and right away we were greeted with warm smiles and rum punches by our amazing host, Tiana. The Rooms We were registered promptly and shown to our rooms by Jenny, who took the time to give us a little tour. The rooms were beautifully rustic and we could actually smell the sweet cedar. The beds were inviting as were the bathrooms. Each room had a wrap around veranda and a hammock. We were stunned by the view of the Belmopan river winding through the rainforest. Meals After a warm shower we walked back to the main house across the elevated wooden walkway flanked by hedges of blooming hibiscus and bougainvillea flowers. The view was grand, dining tables on the veranda surrounded by beautiful grounds of flowers and fruit trees, a lazy river, iguana sunning on a tree branches and chorus of bird song and howler monkeys in the distance. We were in heaven The chef indulged us with amazing meals; well plated and yuuuummmmmyyyy. Turns out this would be every single day, for breakfast and dinner. It didn't matter where we went, we ate breakfast daily sampling the flavors of Belize and we always returned for a Dream Valley dinner. We were never disappointed. The chef meant business. Security We always felt so safe with the security detail on the property, We could see they took their work seriously and patrolled the property ensuring all was well. We walked around the property at night without a care in the world...well except for the wildlife we imagined we might encounter. The Staff With the arrival of more family members, we asked for a family suite and were promptly attended to. Tiana arranged for all our stuff to be moved while we went about the business of sight seeing. Unfortunately, we preferred the views we originally had so yet again Tiana made the move happen. Jenny again provided a tour for the new comers. Throughout our stay the staff was professional, friendly, and efficient. We wanted for nothing. to David (security) Jenny, Anna, Vivi, Chef, Lucy and the always delightful Tiana, thank you for making our vacation the best so far. We will definitely return to Dream Valley.
Thank you very for taking the time to share your experience in our little rainforest paradise and recognized our staff who loves to please all our guests.

No one warned us that this resort is only reachable by driving over 8 km on dirt and gravel “road” that was terrifying. Then we finally arrived to what looked like a house with no signs. We eventually found someone who checked us in . It was 100 degrees and no shade where she checked us in. Then we walked a fair distance in the raging sun to our unit, which was wide open, no air conditioning. She turned on the air, but that necessitated shutting wooden shutters over every window! So no view! Then we were very hungry, but restaurant is closed until 4:00. Only three choices for dinner, way overpriced, but we chose pork chops and fish. The pork chops were very thin and cooked until they were not even able to be cut with a knife. When we mentioned this, they grabbed my husband’s plate away from him because they said that if he ate any of the side dishes that they would charge us for the replacement meal in addition to the original order!

This resort is one of our favorite places to stay in Belize. It's so beautiful and quiet. The staff is amazing and the food is fantastic. Don't let the rustic road and driveway put you off. It's part of the belizean charm. You will be pleasantly surprised.

The staff at Dream Valley are the best we’ve seen. My husband got sick during our trip (not from the resort) and the staff voluntarily went to the pharmacy and got medicine for him, made him a pot of ginger tea to settle his stomach, brought him special soup and toast for lunch, and checked on him frequently. When one member of the housekeeping team saw me trying to clean the mud from an excursion off of our shoes at an outdoor faucet, she brought me a scrub brush and a cup of powder detergent and offered to scrub them for me (which I would never let her do, but it was very sweet). Because of that, our shoes were saved. The chef was incredibly gracious and kind about my dietary restrictions and whipped up amazing meals for me every night. We’ve never received such genuine care. The resort’s setting is beautiful and peaceful, the rooms are clean and pretty, and the grounds are well-kept and full of flowers. But the website is a bit misleading. Only the more expensive rooms have TVs, but we were okay with not having one. WiFi is not available throughout the property as advertised, only in the restaurant/lounge area and nearby main pool. Our room didn’t have a coffeemaker, and we felt nickel-and-dimed having to pay $3 US per person every morning to have coffee even when we were paying for breakfast. But the biggest issue for us was the water. The hotel doesn’t provide a water dispenser where tourists who can’t drink the local water can refill their water bottles. That has always been customary at other hotels we have stayed at, even in hotels that don’t claim to offer a four-star luxury experience. We felt that in hot climates, it’s vital to provide travelers with access to safe drinking water to prevent heatstroke, fainting, and other issues. We would have been fine with a room temperature water dispenser. Instead we had to continually buy and throw away plastic bottles which we did not enjoy doing. There are no phones provided in the rooms for people who don’t have voice services on their cells. Since the front desk shuts down at night, and many of the cabins are a good quarter-mile walk from the office and where some of the staff lives, we wondered what people would do in case of an emergency. Even if you had WiFi in your room and a number to text in case of an emergency, that would be an easy solution. Overall, the hotel was lovely. But we felt that if the owners want to bill it as a four-star luxury experience, they need to provide travelers with basic necessities. The beauty of the place and the exceptional staff are the reason I am giving it four stars.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I regret the mis-communication from my staff, we do have a water dispenser at the bar and Tania / Jenny will refill the bottles for all our guests free of charge. There is a Coffee dispenser in the bar area for free coffee refills. We encourage all our guests to install what's app free of charge and the best way to communicate everywhere in Belize through Wifi or Data, the front desk number is share upon arrival. I thank you again for bringing it to my attention and will emphasize with the staff to make sure all informations are shared 100%.

We spent 2 nights at Dream Valley and had such an unforgettable time. Jenny set us up with a great room and took care of all our excursions and scheduling so that we could just show up and get going on amazing adventures. Tania mainly handled our food and drink and patiently answered all the many touristy questions we asked her with a smile. All the staff members were so extremely kind, you feel very well taken care of here. We did the Xunantunich Mayan ruins tour, went to the Belize Zoo, and our driver also very kindly stopped at The Orange Gallery and The Art Box for some souvenirs. The food is gourmet and the environment is unforgettable, especially for two city kids like us. Swimming in either swimming pool (there are two and they’re equally serene) listening to the birds, frogs, and monkeys of the rain forest is something I will never forget. There is also a short hiking path on the property and bikes available for use. Highly recommend vacationing here.

We will definitely return and spend a few more nights here. The accommodations and the grounds are amazing. We only had a few hours to explore because we had a short stay and tours during the day. We loved the pool, having the view of the river and the grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. Every staff member treated us great and helped with anything we needed including fresh coconuts in the pool. My husband got to get a little fishing in on the river and hooking onto a tarpon was the highlight for him. The trails were quite nice and we managed to enjoy one breakfast at the restaurant. Our room exceeded expectations and had everything we could need. The bathrooms are huge and beautifully done. I can't wait to return and have more time to spend just being in this beautiful space.
