My two friends and I went to Dream Valley for a relaxing vacation (3 nights in the jungle, 3 nights in San Pedro). We rented a car (can also take the local bus or schedule a ride) and drove an hour from Belize City to Dream Valley. We drove up to the site and were greeted with delicious drinks from Lucia along with her answering all of our questions. The first day there we organized a trip with Edbin and he was absolutely amazing, knew every sort of wildlife there was and was there with us the whole day along with being very patient. The food there is amazing -- Rendell and Rodwell were able to answer all our questions about the menu and make sure we were ready for the day at hand.
What we loved: the team was so helpful and friendly... the rooms were large and well appointed with King-sized beds... the pool was large and refreshing... meals were perfect for family dining (something for adults and our teen-aged children)... we were near our 3 adventure trips (ATM, cave tubing, horseback to Xunatunich ruins) and the resort provides transportation... the scenery is beautiful with tons of bougainvillea and hibiscus... and full of wildlife (howler monkeys in a near-by tree and amazing birds to watch). Also they had a kareoke party on Christmas night with a lot of complementary Jell-O shots which was a blast! Few items I would change: drink menu had suggestive names (but all were delicious)... the view of the resort from the river is postcard pretty, but the main building when you arrive isn’t... hot water ran out after two quick showers.…
this resort is beautiful with great staffs. the place is on the river and hotel rooms/cottages and the board walks are elevated. Walking throughout the property is so peaceful with the sound of the jungle and howler monkeys!!! Resort has a really nic and large cottage feel lounge, the place is beautifully decorated. Pool views are EXCELLENT and the overall vibe is BLISS AND DREAMY. nice sunsets from our large patio area. Living above ground on board walks and wooden patios is an experience. Water sports are provided. Washroom and lodging is clean and spacious. Toiletries are decent/provided (no personal handouts like others tho). Overall, a great place to stay closer to the caves (ATM) and falls.
Pro: Staff members are professionals and friendly. The resort is beautiful, well maintained with lots of flowers and amazing view to the river. Kayaking in the river is the most relaxing activity we had so far. Food and drinks were good. Our room was facing the river, it was super clean and smells so good. We had a lot of space, big bathroom, huge bed, and balcony. Con: No WIFI at all. Only at the reception area. Network is unstable and it was impossible to get WIFI once we left the reception. Make sure the infinity pool is open for the public and not under construction. The perfect place to relax.
The rooms were huge and beautifully maintained. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Be aware that the howler monkeys sound like something out of Jurassic park but it all adds to the wonderful feeling of being close to nature.
