Tl;dr after staying at all three between 2019-22 with 2x kids aged 2-5, Daios was the best, Sani Asterias 2nd, and Ikos was disappointing imho. Cost was £7kish for a week for Daios/Sani out of school holidays, Ikos was pushing 5 figs. Daios (premium seaview suite, which is really just two interconnecting rooms): (+) Is the most visually impressive of the three resorts given the topography and architecture imo (+) Scott Dunn flexi creche where you can drop/collect whenever without needing to pre book (+) Beach is in a small sheltered bay with perfect sand, no seaweed and no rocks (+) Good food, ok wine and free-pour Laurent-Perrier on all inclusive (+) Free room service on tap (+) James Bond views from the rooms (+) The best gym by an order of magnitude (-) Funicular is annoying so you need a room at the front, book with an influential agent (-) Stretched staff, sun lounger competition and no loos on beach level (-) It's windy, especially up at the tennis courts and during high summer Sani Asterias (beachfront suite): (+) Private pool area very civilised (+) Best food and drink of the three (within the Asterias bit at least) (+) Old hand front of house staff give it a vip feel (+) Suites directly on the well-staffed private beach, can just walk out and get a drink (-) Not really all inclusive as there were punishing supplements for the decent food and drink (-) Asterias bit is peaceful and boutiquey but the resort is sprawling and crowded - need to catch a bus to get to other bits (-) Childcare is book-ahead-only. Worldwide kids are good but not as good as Scott Dunn imho (-) Beach doesn't have a sheltered feeling and had a lot of seaweed Ikos Dassia (two bedroom deluxe suite): (+) Very picturesque setting with bay and mountains (+) Close to the airport (+) Close to Corfu town so you are not trapped in the resort (+) Food very good. Especially the breakfasts by the vip pool, amazing (+) Great dedicated concierge person (Thanos) who replied instantly on Whatsapp 24x7 and could fix anything (+) Nice quiet and private VIP pool with shallow mini-pool great for under-5s (+) Nice touches like ice cream stations, dinner on the beach, shows, etc (+/-) Beach has a great view, massive sun loungers and is sheltered, but is quite rocky (-) Wine was dreadful, and often served in plastic glasses ... even in the VIP beach/pool bits there was not a single decent wine. As far as I remember there was no proper champagne, just Greek prosecco, which although a 0.1st world problem felt very cheap given the unbelievably high room rates. The cocktails were good though (-) The resort is by a busy road, and ludicrously they have put expensive suites just a few metres away from the motorbike din and karaoke bars. It kept us awake and we had to move rooms (-) Like Sani, it's massive, and the main pools are crowded. Childcare is book-ahead only (-) Maybe it was because of post-COVID silly prices, but we could have stayed in an Amanresorts pre-COVID for what we paid here. It didn't live up to the price tag for us (+/-) I can't speak for the other Ikos resorts, which I hear are very good ... maybe it's because the Corfu-factor means there will still be demand at >£1k/night even if you have to listen to sweet caroline karaoke and motorbike revving at 2am ...…
Our stay at Daios Cove was truly wonderful from the second we arrived until the second we left. The service was second to none with very professional staff paying attention to the finest of details. The room was beautiful - very well equipped with a super view and plenty of space for four. For us, a real highlight was the food and drink which at every outlet was exceptional. We were part of the Residents' Club which gave all inclusive access. The selection of food and drinks included in this was incredible. An extensive wine list, including bottles of champagne and pages of different wines by the glass or bottle, beautiful fresh juices and smoothies, and delicious cocktails. The a la carte menus, including unlimited room service, had the most wonderful selection of delicious dishes with huge variety within and across the different restaurants all included on this package. It seemed too good to be true but wasn't and the whole experience was truly luxurious and exceptional value for money. We will certainly return!…
The hotel is beautiful! Clean and excellent staff! You get a lovely view or the cove to, so magical! We went all inclusive and it’s probably the best all inclusive I’ve ever seen. The premium brands and verve champagne on the AI is excellent! Our 1 bedroom suite was also beautiful with a lovely big balcony. The only negative I would put on his hotel is the pool temperature, a pool should be to go in and enjoy but many don’t as they get in, it’s way too cold. They say it’s heated to 25c which isn’t heated in my opinion, 27c should really be a minimum.
A fantastic holiday overall! Firstly, we want to rave about the session cooking with the executive chef. Chef Panagiotis Valsamakis is not only super lovely, but the way he spoke to us throughout the session and taught us as he went, letting us get involved too, was fabulous. It was definitely the highlight of the holiday and something we didn't shut up about at the time, and haven't shut up about since. The set up for the experience was great too, with a TV giving a birds eye of everything Chef was doing as he went, so you didn't miss anything. The food in the session and at Daios Cove in general was delicious and something to write home about. We'd go back for the food alone! Never have we ever enjoyed food in a hotel so much. There were a few restaurants to pick from, with a variety of food. The only downside, was not being able to book restaurants beforehand so a lot was booked up by the time we got there. However, we did manage to work this out with the staff and ended up with no issues. To add to that, the beach was lovely, the staff were great, the place was clean and ideal. The staff and the hotel couldn't have been better. The drinks choices were lovely. The views were fantastic too, highly recommend getting up for sunrise over the cove! We couldn't fault it. The only thing that we were a little disappointed with was how many families there were there as that wasn't something we were expecting. However, this was not the fault of the hotel or its staff, just one to think about for couples going there. This wouldn't stop us from going back, but we would plan for a time that would avoid any school holidays. Once again, can't fault it and highly recommend! Thanks to Chef Panagiotis!!!…
A family vacation to remember! Amazing location & scenery, wonderful and helpful staff, delicious food (they even took into consideration our daughter is a vegetarian). The rooms were spacious and very clean. An overall memorable trip. Recommend it!
This was our third stay in Daios Cove, this one just as good the previous 2. Once again we opted for a Premium Junior Suite. The Residents Club has to be one the best all inclusive packages, all premium drinks included, an extensive choice of high quality wines and an amazing choice of 3 dishes from 3 top quality restaurants - our favourite being the Ocean. One evening we were very fortunate to be seated at the table on the balcony, with the most stunning views of the full cove The location is perfect, only a short taxi ride into the nearby town, all of which the hotel are only too happy to assist with, the views absolutely stunning. What makes this hotel so special though is the staff, each and everyone does everything to make sure your stay is perfect. 3 members of the team who helped make our stay ever so special, Dimitris the restaurant manager of Ocean, Nick, in the beach and Marie who helped on the beach. We have already made the decision to book again for next year, this time though we have booked directly with the hotel. A special mention to Dimitra and the reservation team who once again have made all of the necessary arrangements…
Mr. Aristides (Aris) Barouxakis, personal and group trainer at the Gym of Daios Cove Luxury Resort, was absolutely amazing, well educated and I would definitely recommend everybody to have a training session with him while on vacation.
My wife and I spent a week here for our honeymoon and we both agreed it was the finest hotel we’d ever stayed in. The architecture was amazing - clearly designed with subtlety to blend into the surrounding bay. We opted for a half board package in a room with private plunge pool. The room was equally beautiful in design with an enormous comfy bed and excellent bathroom with great toiletries. The patio was covered but the hotel provided a sturdy “fatboy” pool float on request that allowed for sunbathing. The pool was small but pleasant for a dip, clean and well presented. The food was excellent throughout - the buffet was varied at dinner with some really delicious highlights and all very freshly cooked and we tried all three a la carte restaurants (using the daily discount allotted in the half board package) where the food had a different style in each location. The Ocean restaurant was probably the best with more of a fine dining experience but all three are worth a try. The room service was also great - prompt and well presented and well organised to remove plates when required. The spa was also excellent and worth a visit - we booked a couples massage that was a genuinely tranquil experience that we both loved. The staff were excellent in every location as well - extremely polite (even if some of the clientele were not as friendly) and couldn’t do enough for you. The only complaint we would have had would be the weather. The week we stayed was very windy in the cove, so much so that we weren’t able to open the pool umbrellas provided by the pool and around the beach the sand and sea could be irritating when trying to relax. Obviously this isn’t the fault of the resort in any way and I don’t believe this is a problem all year but something to look into when booking. Overall we massively enjoyed our stay and would love to go back next time we can afford it - no it isn’t cheap but we very much found you get what you pay for.…
For the second time we were in Daios Cove and will always come back. This time we were there for 10 days. We've always had a great view from our vila. This time we moved to the 6th floor after 5 days. Here the view over the bay was gigantic. Everything was perfect. From the breakfast service (booked in room service), Gorgia was very attentive and friendly. The room service crew too. What is very nice is that many employees from 2020 were still on the team this year. We would particularly like to highlight Nikoleta and Stavros from Team Taverna. Already 3 days ago, you knew which water we prefer, which room number we had and what our food preferences are. For us again a very relaxing beautiful holiday. The price-performance ratio is right for us. Thanks!
The hotel is amazing, but I wouldn’t not recommend if you are seeking value for money! I went to Daios Cove for a week in mid-October with my husband (we are early thirties with no children) and had a wonderful stay at Daios Cove, and chose the half board option. The food in the main buffet restaurant is delicious, with a huge range of options. The front of house, chefs and waiting staff were brilliant. Aside from still water, all drinks had to be paid for with the cheapest glass of wine being €10. When staying in a number of other similar hotels, at least a draught beer or house wine would be included with dinner. It’s also worth noting that the lunch menus provided at the various restaurants start at about €20. The other restaurants on site are available for dinner with a €20 reduction pp - We visited one of these and had a great meal. The infinity pool area has a great view, however could do with more sun beds, as would often be full by around 10.30am. The pool is also apparently heated, but freezing! The beach has lots of sun bed availability and a great beach bar with lots of options for drinks with the Beach House available for food. We were unfortunate during our stay that the wind was crazy! Everyone was sheltering under towels and jumpers for a number of days we were there and when now reading previous reviews, a lot of guests mention this is worse in July/August! Regarding excursions, there is an app highlighting options available each day - We did the Cooking with the Chef (€35) which I would highly recommend and great value for money. All other excursions were crazily expensive (€200-400 pp) for what they were, and nothing else within a reasonable price range. The room was stunning - Large, spacious, shower and bath, private pool with great view. Cleaned well daily. There is a Nespresso machine that we used every day - For refills of Nespresso caps it was €1.50 (Knowing they are only 40p from our machine at home - Yet another profit maker). The BXR gym is by far the best hotel gym we have had previously and used this every day. We also had a couples massage treatment with use of the indoor therapy pool, sauna, etc - This was brilliant! We also played tennis a few times, with free use of the court and equipment. All in all, we had a wonderful stay at Daios Cove. The staff were absolutely amazing and could not do more for you. We just felt having paid a huge amount to go there in the first place, that a £1000 bill at the end of the week for lunch/drinks seemed extortionate and for this reason, we won’t be returning. It is a beautiful hotel, but we felt that it was all about the owners making as much profit as possible. It gives the impression that once you’re in the hotel, they will charge as much as they like as you have no other option.…
