Accommodation is so so, we have hot water (which barely runs), very small bathroom, barely fit for shower. Not sure about bed cleanliness also. However they have good restaurant, breakfast is quite acceptible. Walking distance to view the Bromo Tengger Semeru. Staying for a night only so I suppose I can take it. Not so happy with the price I have to pay for it though.
We stayed here as part of a tour of Bromo and Ijen. The hotel breakfast was good and we ate in the restaurant in the evening which was okay and well priced. Rooms were small with a wet room that smelt of sewerage. I think it's meant to be the nicest in the area and it is situated really close to Bromo which is good. I wouldn't have booked it myself.
The hostel is situated at the entrance to Bromo National Park. So the location is perfect. It's a very basic accomodation, but at the end of the day, you come here for Bromo, not for hostel. Basic also the breakfast.
Ok, here we go. Stopped for one night between hiking Mt Bromo and going back for Bromo sunrise. The pros: WiFi works in room 7. The room is clean-ish (stains on sheets, stains in walls) The cons: small not exciting breakfast. No hand towels. No shower stall separate from toilet. There is hot water for shower but not at sink. The water is sulphuric so after showers the room smells like rotten eggs/sewage/durian. The bed and pillow are uncomfortable and the bed creaked every time my husband moved. Based on reviews this is the best of the worst but not good.
We booked a Brome and Ijen tour in which this hotel was included. Would not really recommend it because it was quite dirty, but it looked like one of the best hotels in the neighbourhood. Good thing was that it was really at the end of town, so we were the last ones to be picked up by jeep and it was a shorter route to Bromo than for most of the people. Walking to Bromo instead of taking a jeep to the viewpoint at night only takes 30 minutes.
