We have just spent 11 days at Cephalonia Palace Hotel and have been truly spoilt! Directly at the beginning we received a warm welcome by a friendly and helpful receptionist. The hotel has got a perfect location in a quiet environment with a beautiful Xi beach, suitable for a couple or a family that truly seeks a place to escape the business of everyday life. Our room (although not the most modern one) was perfectly cleaned on a daily basis by Ramona, a lady possessing extremely positive vibes: -) . Stuff consists of friendly and caring people too. There was a reasonable choice of tasty food at the breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only thing we have missed is more variety and healthier offers within drinks. Overall, the entire team in the kitchen and the restaurant did a great job in our eyes. We had nice chats with Dimitrios, a contagiously enthusiastic manager of the restaurant. All in all, we cherish happy memories on our stay in Cephalonia! Thank you all again! Marta & Ben from the Netherlands

Lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff and wonderful cleaners. Yes the area is quiet but that is very clear if you have read the information before booking. Rooms dated but very comfortable with great air conditioning and useful balcony. Sadly our teens’ room (girls) was very far away from ours and ground floor so they felt worried but it turned out ok as it’s a lovely safe location. Xi beach was beautiful, lovely warm sea but stony to walk into by the sun loungers, further up the beach to the left there are no stones. Good beach bars. All inclusive not the very best but there was a very good variety of hot and cold options. Pool lovely but sun loungers got bagged early with towels and staff didn’t enforce, so we did exactly that on our last day to ensure we got a couple. Cocktails ok, beer good, great gyros and pizza at lunchtimes in the pool bar. We hired a fiat panda for 3 days to explore the beautiful island, a jeep was more expensive but would’ve been useful for hilly mountain roads! We got a puncture on the fallen rocks so be careful, luckily my partner is a mechanic but 3 locals stopped to offer help. Fiskardo, Sami, Assos, Melisiani cave all very beautiful and worth a visit, Argostoli (go late morning to see huge turtles). Antisamos beach is beautiful and lively if you want music and there are other beautiful quiet beaches. We LOVE Kefalonia and although the hotel and Xi beach were lovely we would probably return to a slightly less remote area.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Cephalonia palace hotel, we enjoyed our stay and would return again. We booked through Jet2. It was a last minute decision and after a quick search on the internet decided this met our needs. We understood there are restrictions on the all inclusive but to stop all inclusive alcohol at 23.00 is not the end of the world. The rooms were a bit dated but very clean, with towels and bedding changed daily. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We weren't happy with our first room and were moved with no fuss. Food was plentiful and drink measures generous, did overdo the cocktails once. We were slightly out of season so had no trouble getting beds around the pool when needed. That could be different at busy times as there are a limited amount of beds. Whilst there is a notice saying beds cannot be reserved, you always get those who put a towel on the bad at 7.00 and don't go to the bed until 14.00. Unfortunately the staff do not enforce this rule. We hired a car from Mercury car hire not far from the hotel for a couple of days and explored a bit of the island. It is worth doing this as Kefalonia is a beautiful place. Overall it was a very good holiday.

We stayed 1/2 board. Rooms basic but clean, apart from the small birds nests outside above your front door excrementing on door handle and floor.
Only 3 electrical sockets.
Tea and coffee facilities consisted of a kettle. No cups, Tea, coffee etc.
The half board offering was that you can have poor quality vending machine juices with breakfast, but not dinner. If you took this or wine at dinner you were greeted with an over zealous restaurant so called manager telling you that you have to pay for that in front of everyone.
The standard of food was terrible.
The cheapest produce possible used. Most of it ended up uneaten.
The temperature of the food was mostly cold.
Variation poor.
Best option for this place would be bed and breakfast and eat outside the complex.
On the plus side, the weather was great.
Pool/Bar staff great.
Pool great, with plenty of loungers and canopy’s.
Unfortunately the poor outweighs the good by a mile.
Stay away from this 2 star establishment.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel and stay elsewhere. Kefalonia has more lively prettier areas than this place.

At first I was cautious as some reviews were quite scathing and sour. The trip to the hotel was pleasant as it takes a boat ride across estuary which makes a nice extra. On arrival the hotel looks far better than photos as the grand staircase and marble foyer gives elegance and grandeur, the staff I found extremely friendly and helpful nothing like the negative comments on trip adviser. I greet every member of staff from reception to cleaners, even other holiday guests, why not! , they are people. if you want be treated well then act as you wish be treated.
The food was extremely good and much much choice, hot tasty and quality, breakfast was tremendous with everything you could want, fresh bread, fruit honey, cereals, full English etc you won’t go hungry, but will gain extra kilos
Drinks on all inclusive are ok but if you want a more expensive brand then it’s a little extra. The pool area is great with bar close by and serving tea coffee snacks alcoholic drinks hot food if you still peckish.
I had a super deluxe suite with pool and it was fabulous
The Xi beach is two minutes walk and has a restaurant and super drinks area for late evenings chilling which gives you discount if you guest at hotel.
The beach is sandy and lovely to walk on.
Take trips out sammi, fiscardo aggia effima etc, explore the lovely island and you be amazed at how wonderful it is.
The hotel is also having a refit and program of improvement so will be even better for 2023.
The manager Eleni was extremely helpful and professional and nothing was too much trouble. If you have worries or not sure of anything then politely ask rather than complain on media. Fake reviews could put off guests that base their choice on trip advisor comments,
We will surely return in 2023.

excellent food. even a vegetarian can eat. the service of picking from the table is excellent, I have never seen such attentive waiters anywhere.
manager still available.
warm pool, from 2.9m to 1.5m and wading pool. unfortunately, like everywhere occupied but empty sunbeds.
cleaning excellent. since morning! The cleaning lady always saw that we were going to breakfast and cleaned during that time.
snack by the pool, always watermelon, some sweets. around noon pizza, pita gyros and Greek salad.
drinking classic juices, water available to take with you. some drinks included, good wine and beer.
Greek night on Sunday. mini disco for children every evening. for Czech and Polish children, animators during the day.
But you can't walking on grass.
they make excellent cocktails in the main bar on the 1st floor, where not many people go. price approx. 7€.
sandy beach, excellent for sand building. I don't recommend going straight to the deckchairs (the entrance was stony) it's better to go left, go around the rock with the cave and beyond it is paradise, far away shallow - suitable for small children, calm, cicadas :), sand... on the right side there is a nicer view on the rocks, the sea maybe clearer, but only in the morning. in the afternoon, the clay is already melting and the sea is murky, warm.
great vacation! we recommend it, we were with a 6-year-old child and we were all excited.

Having recently come back from this hotel, I wouldn’t stay there again!

It looks nice when you first go in, but it went downhill when we went to our room.
There were only 3 wall sockets in the room, and one was hanging out of the wall, we had to chase up reception to get it fixed!

The pool area was really nice, however the steps into the pool were loose, I was scared that they were going to come out of there fitting when accessing the pool.

The food choices were awful, a very bizarre mixture of food provided and of poor quality. Thank god we found an excellent bar and restaurant up the road, with excellent customer service.
Getting onto the subject of customer service, we found all the cleaning staff and Simos and Otti on reception, to be really kind and courteous, however Senior members of staff and the awful Restaurant Manager need re-training in customer Service!

We aren’t usually people to complain, but there were so many issues with the Restaurant and problems with the room that we had to bring these up and report the problems on a daily basis, if was ridiculous.

We were also told when we booked that there would be evening entertainment.
There was none, other than a Greek night on the Sunday night.
This event wasn’t even advertised, and we only found out about this through word of mouth, otherwise we would have gone to the lovely bar/restaurant up the road!
All in all, I would love to come to Kefalonia again, but definitely not this place, which despite its name, is not s palace!

We've just returned from a 1 week stay. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are very helpful and friendly especially those at the pool bar. However I had a number of issues with this hotel. Firstly the rooms need updating, they are clean and tidy but there was cracked tiles, ripped wall paper and our shower curtain was stained. Secondly entertainment is non existent, there is supposed to be daily water aerobics, water polo and volley ball, during our stay the female entertainer only showed up once for water polo and twice for water aerobics. On these occasions the entertainer only approached people of certain nationalities and avoided any Brits around the pool, she lacked any sort of motivation for her job and the same could be said for when she did the evening kids disco. During our stay there was NO evening entertainment at all which was a real shame as the hotel is in the middle of no where with nothing else around unless you catch a taxi to Luxuri. There are also no shower rooms or changing facilities, we had to vacate our room by 11am but were not being picked up till 4.30pm with no option to extend our room, this meant we had to change in the tiny toilet cubicle. The food was what you'd expect from a 3 star all inclusive although it could have been hotter but overall it was OK.
Myself and my husband wouldn't return to this hotel purely due to lack of things to do, the only redeeming feature is it's close to the beach where we spent a wonderful few hours after discovering the natural clay which was great for our skin.

We have just returned from Cephalonia Palace having had a really great break. Although this is not the best hotel we have stayed in it was very well appointed and had all the facilities that you could wish for. Our rooms were spotless on arrival and kept very clean throughout our stay by the very hard working cleaning staff. The staff that were available worked very hard and managed to keep waiting times to a minimum. For us the most amazing aspect of the holiday were the staff, from the cleaners all the way up to the Hotel Manager. They were truly amazing and without doubt the most attentive and friendly people we have ever encountered in any hotel across the world. They truly made us feel at ease and were there for us when ever we needed them. We will visit this hotel again and would strongly recommend it to other families looking for a pool or beach holiday.

Really bad service for 4 star hotel, we came for daily visit and rented beds in empty garden, ordered food and drinks. We got drinks as they dont serve food after 6pm and they didnt let us use shade of second umbrella we rented as shade moved closer to other table told us we have to pay for beds we dont use or move. Rude stuff, bad service, bad drinks and we didnt like Xi beach as we came to sandy beach and realised sea bed has big rocks and is water is dark like swimming in river. Keffalonia has so much other amasing places and beaches for 10 days stay this has been only place we didnt like and left early.
