Not overly impressed, beautiful setting no complaints with that. Service by the staff very slow, food awful very much produced for locals not foreigners. No WiFi even though advertised it has WiFi. Worst of all when a party turn up to organise a party they think its ok to move your stuff from poolside to dump there box of decorations. And on returning to my room the balcony furniture is gone to accommodate the party that haven't even arrived yet. At 11pm you get a call to say departure is at 8am but clearly states check out is 11pm. Management crawled up the said parties backside just so they could organise there party. Would I go again not even if you paid me to go there. Look after the customers you have not the ones who aren't even there yet. Poor management by what I can only call amateurs and not professionals.

I have been to Brovad twice now as a solo guest & also as a couple. Although the premises are lovely, what spoilt both trips was the poor customer care. Because I look like a teenager even though am above 30 years, I felt treated like a minor despite having paid the accommodation fees in full by myself. I felt disrespected by the manager. This happened on both trips. Additionally, as a solo guest, I initially paid for a single room yet I was given a duplex one without any explanation. I thought they would charge me extra. I was restless the entire trip. On my second trip as a couple, I was given smaller room, not worth the money I paid. I know this because I was travelling with a group of much older guests who had gotten bigger rooms yet we had paid the same rate. I felt unfairly treated. To make matters worse, my room flooded after a heavy downpour. When I went to report the matter to the reception at 7am, no one was at the counter. It is not until that I brought the matter to my older friends that the staff did something about it. It was my worst experience.

I've read the reviews for here before and I have to say although we had a good time, I was a bit disappointed. Brovad is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious, with big clean bathrooms, and the pool area on the water is a dream. For such a stunning hotel, I really would have expected better food/service. Perhaps it was because it was down season/elections, but the food and service was below par. Despite asking several times for them to check on us at the pool so that we could purchase food and drinks from them, in the three days we stayed there we had to seek out a server every single time. I had informed them that I was vegetarian and asked if their full board menu would change (a messy hand written paper menu with only 'vegetable pizza and vegetable burger' on it). They assured us that it would change daily - it did not - and we stayed here for four days. Breakfast was nice - juice, eggs, potatoes. The rest of the food was average. 3/5. Big nice bathtub in the room but the hot water only runs for about 3/4 minute intervals so it's impossible to fill/use. Tv in room only has 3 channels and all are fuzzy. Beds were super comfortable and the grounds were well maintained - monkeys running around. The paddle boats are fun to rent from the property - definitely recommend. Nice small balcony with lovely garden views, though no mosquito net over bed so caution with leaving door open too long. All in all our stay was nice, not the best. Would consider coming back at another time to see if it's because of covid/down season etc.

Brovad sands lodge is a great place for weekends. The environment is friendly. The meals were good, the staff was helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean with the nice lake view. Quiet and serene with great sunsets. Pool is good and paddle boat is a good activity to try when at lodge.
