Went to Pulau Joyo with my wife and a few friends and it was, hands down, the best experience we've ever had. The endless breeze kept the temperatures in check and the island staff were simply amazing. The place is gorgeous and welcoming, there are many activities to be had, including scuba diving, fishing, pool, darts, volleyball, kayak trips etc. Extremely relaxing, there is a massage therapist and the island center pool offers a great experience. They have bluetooth speakers, you can have karaoke nights and they have a projector if you want to watch movies. Being Indonesia, most of the stuff is on the cheap side, so you can go wild on drinks. The food is amazing and the accomodations are really cool. The only downside is the time it takes to get there. If you're from Asia, it

We have now been 2 years in a row to Joyo, each time booking the entire island with a group of friends - 14 adults and 13 children. A unique and special place - very well thought out design - Children love the pool area. Rooms well designed to capture the breeze - welcome break to not sleep under aircon. Food and cocktails were all good. We had a fleet of MPVs to transport our group. No issues with the driving or travel arrangements. Well done to Dedy, William and team. We will go back next year.

Visited for a short weekend trip and did not regret much. The beautiful island and accommodating hosts made the stay wonderful. Even though it was only two of us with many other families with their children, the property did not feel crowded or noisy. Room was clean, though the long weekend had limited us to the Driftwood Palace, which had its toilet downstairs and having to clean sand off our feet after every visit was not convenient. Would suggest the other rooms as they are sea-facing and airier. Food was delicious, and even after asking for smaller portions, we struggled to finish the food. Not that it wasn't good, portions were just generous. The serenity of the waters around, the welcoming smiles of the staff and just being in nature really elevated our moods. Dinner

Firstly, the island, the gardens, the accommodation, the food, the value compared to other islands off Singapore, wow. We had special requests including gluten free and we could not be happier. Our guests including a qualified chef, several highly proficient home cooks and many foodies unilaterally approached the kitchen to thank the cooks for the variety and quality. A massive thank you to all the attentive and friendly grounds and housekeeping staff, in particular our lovely host Ani, we had a superb stay this week. Our group of 16 have all left your island with full hearts and heads full of memories. It was simply a magical stay, your stunning palaces and huts, the superb and ample spreads for all meals, the tremendously fun pool and diving board (tree trunk), the beach and

A beautiful island! We booked out the island for 4 nights with 6 families. It was very special having the whole place to ourselves. The island has beautiful grounds and a fantastic cold pool with a Long wooden diving board that the kids adored. Lots of space for rugby or Cricket etc. The staff had different locations set up for our lunch and dinner with lanterns and candles which was lovely. They catered for the children and adults in our group well but couldn't really grasp the "vegetarian" request and continued to serve a strange looking mushroom at each meal. The kayaks, stand up paddle boards were always on hand each day and an easy paddle around the island, The massages were fantastic and the decor on the island is absolutely beautiful. The staff were great providing

Response from Dedy G, Owner at Pulau Joyo

Dear Kate -- First things first .. our food. Most guests love our food and say so. We are more "Indonesian Fusion" than "Fine Dining". They expect to have rice served with every meal. However we cannot rest on past laurels. Thank you for your wake up call. Please accept our apologies. We are determined to improve. First of all by expanding the variety of our vegetarian and vegan dishes and next the general menu including breakfast. More variety and better presentation. We are on it... With regard to snorkeling -- our reef is healthy, well populated and especially good on the Eastern tip and Southern edge. It is protected by a government mandated no-fish zone. Next time you go ask the boys to run you out there in the dinghy. . However I must say, in all honesty, that when the monsoon is blowing strong the viz is not that good. Our bus is 12 years old. Not great cosmetically I admit, but I absolutely assure you, well maintained and roadworthy. Our driver Dapit, a steady older fellow, has been with us for 5 years and knows the road very well. The door did not open by itself - one of the kids stamped on the handle. Our staff closed it immediately but did not mention the reason for its opening. Kate - we thank you for your feedback which is greatly appreciated and we particularly thank you for your complements and 4 stars. With best regards. Joyo Island.
