Beautiful location , friendly staff. Clean locations, great view of water, casitas are very nice and clean. Met alot of people.but got to enjoy swimming without overcrowding would come back anytime to this location.
Did not stay at the resort, but drove there for the water. It was a long dusty road, 2 ferries, but even those offered water and river views on the drive. It was a hot day, but the water and the view of the bay made it all worth it. We hung out on the pier, swam, drank beers, and even saw dolphins. It's a great place for family fun, the water is not deep, great for lounging.
Orchid Bay Belize is located on the south side of the Corozal Bay in Belize; outside of Corozal town anywhere from 22 to 45+ minutes (depending on the location of the two hand-cranked ferries when you arrive at them and how hot it is outside for the ferry workers!). The road can be from decent compared to Belize roads (that means bad country roads for most others) to bad Belize roads depending on the time of year. However, once you get there you will find a very pretty, very quiet placed to enjoy just getting away. There is an onsite restaurant with a swimming pool and activities. There are many types of accommodations including bay front casitas, a bed and breakfast, and many private homes. If you have a vehicle then you can explore local ruins and out of the way destinations such as manatee breeding areas in the lagoons nearby. Tarpon have been known to be caught in the waters right in front of the bay and you can always sail or paddle board. It's a bit out of the way, but for any adventurer, it's worth the effort. If your local; go for the weekend for some peace and privacy.…
I stayed in a Cabana at Orchid Bay while on a discovery tour. Was very restful and clean. The on sight restaurant is awesome as are the employees.Felt like I was part of the family.I ended up buying a lot to build on!!
Yes, the drive there is adventurous. But once you got there and in your cabana, all was forgiven. The lodgings are very nice. We especially liked the screened in porch and the bikes we could use. The beach is OK- it is hard to swim cuz it’s so shallow. Pool is small but refreshing. Tradewinds, the bar/restaurant,is the hub. This is where you get all food and bevs- there is no quickie mart to run to. The service is nice, but time is not an issue. Most food we ordered took 45 minutes to be prepared. So, highs and lows.
