5 stars goes to beach bar bartender Klio, who always welcomes guests with smile, always very positive and cheerfull. She even teach us some Greek words. Best wishes to her 🙂 Cocktails are the best at the beach bar, the main bar inside has beautiful roofrop with nice panomara, but drinks are not very well. We came on Middle of the May, so it is not season yet, so it is very quet this time of the year. Nice nature, the hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, you need to take taxi to the any bars or restaurants around.
Our 8th visit in 7 years we just love coming here, the staff are so polite and pleasant, the food is fantastic , they have an Italian Resturant , Asian Resturant fir special evening meals and Yama for a special lunch all inclusive. They have done lots of renovations over winter and it’s upgraded the hotel with a fresh look and feel , they have added walk in showers and swim up rooms
Very nice hotel, big rooms, view to the sea and pool are amazing Everyone here is so nice and help you. Special thanks to Madam Roula the manager Nelia from the reception Klio from the Good food, good spa, good people
Have just returned from a delightful week here! We had a double Sea View, certainly recommend! We were on the fourth floor and it was fabulous! The room was huge and bathroom also a good size, Decor in bathroom was by no means recently installed, but not super old either but it was clean and functional and an excellent powerful shower! We were attending end of season and were realistic with our expectations. It was excellent. Pool and pool area clean and tidy. Good selection and variety of food at all meal times, just which the end heat lamp was fixed and that food was always cold, however end of season. Drinks, had a good selection, cocktails are mainly premix with shots, but again what are you expecting? Bar staff are very generous with free pour measures which was nice!! Wine not great but beer was nice as well as all the other Soft drinks and ‘juices’. All the hotel team were polite and helpful. They even let us use all facilities, and food etc after we’d checked out as our flight wasn’t until 23:00. Taxi was fixed €10 to town which was handy. All in all for the price we paid we loved it. The people moaning about five stars etc. is it a UK 5 star? No, is it a clean, comfortable, hospitable well stocked hotel. Yes. Would absolutely return and for the price we paid, loved it! Thank you!…
I have just stayed here for a week and when I arrived you're dropped off at the road and have a lift to reception, The receptionist was very helpful and efficient in her job I went to my room and I w.as pleased with the room a good size and clean .I had booked a room and had paid a supplement for single occupation ok my room was a twin with a balcony ok the next morning I opened the curtains to find a balcony ok the view was a joke I could touch the rockfall you got very little light in from outside I felt like a caveman. There are various restaurants in the hotel and you can book to go into 2 of them while you stay the main one you have to wear a mask and gloves whilst getting your food I was very disappointed with the food in 7 days I did not get 1 hot meal it was always cold or like warm. The hotel is located 6kms away from the nearest town which is Agios Nikolaos if you fit you can walk in but there are no footpaths you take your life in your own hands you can get a Taxi to take you in at a cost of €10 each way.To say I was disappointed is an understatement I will not book with Easyjet again. …
Look, if it wasn't for the deception of claiming this to be a five star resort, I could have awarded it 2 stars, or even 3 at a stretch. By the way, I was never expecting a true five star experience, but we paid the same amount last year for a hotel in Rhodes, which was lightyears ahead in facilities, services, entertainment, food, everything. Now to the long list of grievances; Food: - The main buffet restaurant is basically a gas station cafeteria. The food is bland, some variety, but you will quickly end up eating the same over and over. Nothing to celebrate, but at least edible. Buffet not always efficiently replaced so there are dead times when there's nothing much left. - Can't say the same about the "restaurants" Marino Al Mare and Olive Tree. Firstly, it's the same restaurant with a different name plaque depending which side you enter and the restaurants are not open every day. The food was the worst I ever had, it was left on the plates. I'm certainly not a masterchef, but I would question how you can manage to ruin chips (tasted like they were doused in gasoline) and a brownie (like eating the sahara desert). - the booking system for the restaurants was ridiculous, you have to book at least a day before by queuing up at reception AND you have to preorder your meal (all courses). Then you have no say which sides come with which mains so my husband got my sides for example. - also ate twice at Ya-Mas; first time we were actually pleasantly surprised with the burger and the pork from the grill, tasty and succulent. Unfortunately second time we were back to normal with some dry seasonless chicken. - breakfast at the buffet was ok, but don't believe the "continental breakfast" at the pool bar; it was toasties with a thin slice of cheese that tasted like cardboard. Drinks and entertainment - Drinks were ok and fairly generous with alcohol; but cocktails are definitely not authentux, everything comes from a mix, no fresh herbs, berries, fruit etc. To be seen. - curiously the main lady at the poolbar cannot make an iced coffee to save her life, but her younger counterpart made a delicious one. - I did not see the theatre bar or the disco open once, not sure if this was an end of season thing, but their website is definitely not giving the right idea of available facilities. The info sheet alsp claimed the poolbar is open til 11pm which is not true as it closed at 7. As such the only place to have a drink in at night was the mainbar. - there was no entertainment to speak of; "DJ chill night" was a USB stick with a 90s megamix which annoyingly played about 20 seconds of each song on a beat background before moving on to next one. Music overall was ambient blah, although you could catch some actual tunes by the pool early in the day if lucky. - Aqua Aerobics at the pool was good. Rooms and Facilities - Up close the hotel is really quite ugly. - rooms are spacious, but the furnishing bare and very 80s, dated. - on the plus side showers hot and powerful- although we woke up to no running water one day! - furniture elsewhere also dated, often broken and dirty, especially by the pool and the beach. - no signage or maps anywhere: there's tennis court, there's a spa? No mention of any of this anywhere. After several days found a sign on only one elevator on the 3rd floor pointing to tennis court, and about the same time to find the gym and the spa, latter which was of course closed lile pretty much everything else. - also hard to find are the communal toilets. - no information available about facilities like can you borrow iron, is there a room service etc. - info about entertainment on a pin board next to restaurant, very uninformative, I guess cause there was none!! Staff - had some good moments but inconsistent. - overall both staff and guests look miserable and not happy to be there. - a couple of cute friendly cats by the poolside though! Just essentially nothing in this place makes sense.... the view is nice, but it's hard to find a place that doesn't have a nice view in this island. Our holiday was saved by spending as much time as possible outside the hotel... i'm not sure how they are able to manage this collective gaslighting, they are in desperate need of some quality control! Staff - have their good moments, but also very inconsistent. - overall staff as well as guests look pretty miserable and not happy to be there! - bonus fact; try and find some pictures that are not hung crooked, I dare you.…
We had a jacuzzi room with lovely sea views. It was spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The shower was hot and powerful but not "walk-in". Good nespresso type coffee machine. Some of the reviews on here about the food must have been written by masterchef food critics. For the price paid, the food was good. Large choice of hot dishes, salads, cold meats and cheeses, with good selection of desserts. We ate at the Olive Tree and Ya Mas restaurants and found the meals to be very good, with great service. Covid precautions were a good level. Someone said the beach bar is not included in all inclusive. It is for soft drinks, beer, wine and coffee. Drinks generally were pretty weak, not being named brands. Entertainment was unremarkable, the average age of the clientele not reflected in the choice of rap music frequently played. Indoor pool was closed. Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and will return next year. The five star moaners should pay five star prices and be a bit more realistic in their expectations. It wouldnot be my first choice for kids though.…
Rooms nice and clean. Can get hot tubs which is a nice feature. Room with hot tub comes with a spa massage voucher and access to beach loungers. Food generally ok for gluten eating family. Gluten free was not well catered for. Croissants were frozen in middle as had not been defrosted right. Lunch dessert was disappointing- fruit. Evening dessert was my pick of jelly or ice cream - again not five star
This is our eighth year of coming to this amazing hotel and we are still here. My daughter was married here 5 years ago. We had the most lovely time in the Olive Tree Restaurant to celebrate their anniversary. Food and service superb. The food in the main restaurant was lovely with so much to choose from and the deserts are to die for. The staff are so friendly. The girls on reception so helpful. The rooms kept so clean too. Round the pool is also lovely and clean with the staff working so hard. If your looking for a lovely relaxing holiday then you cant go wrong choosing this hotel. We have made so many friends it feels like a second home. Booking for next May and October already. Thank you Blue Marine for a lovely holiday.
Cons - old furnishing of the hotel rooms - poor cleaning service (towels not changed regularly, couple of times not coming at all) - nonexistent sport amenities, unless you are willing to play volleyball on the rocks or play tennis on a court where baseline is right next to the fence - terrible experience with ala carte restaurants serving the same lowcost food (barely edible) as in the main "cantine" (I would not call it a restaurant) - beach bar is excluded from the all inclusive package so be ready to pay for your beer (or cheap wine) - miniature beach with old artificial grass floor taken from the worn out tennis court (yes you can see the lines) with paid areas (unbelievable) - forget about any decent coffee, the best coffee you get is Nescafe (lol) Pros - price is not steep (not cheap either) All in all If you are looking for 5 star experience avoid this hotel. If you are looking for value then pick any 4 star in Turkey.…
